  • A review of the world's fastest-charging EV, the Li Auto MEGA.
    ********
    The fastest-charging EV in the world is not a Tesla, nor is it a BYD. It's the Li MEGA, which boasts the ability to add more than 500km of charge in under 11 minutes. It's the first fully electric car from China's original king of extended range electric cars, Li Auto, and signals a massive change and a serious statement of intent from one of 2023's standout successes.
    Check out why everyone is so excited about the roadgoing bullet train that can seat up to seven adults in complete comfort.

      Everyone can. And what you don't see in this video (but you can in my Li L7 video) is that the screen can be controlled using gestures, literally holding your hand up in the air and doing different actions. You can even do this from the 3rd row and it actually works.

      I was looking for something like this years ago. I had to settle for a Tesla Model X as it was the closest to a family mini van I could get as EV back then. No major complaints about the falcon wing doors but I wanted sliding doors actually.

      i pretty sure it won't. the market for people who want to get eye cancer is very small in europe.
      however, it might take a while but you will get these charging speeds as well in europe in the next years. and regarding the range, WLTP is not the same as the chinese standard where you have to drive the car down a mountain to reach the km claims.
      WLTP in europe is already far from reality. you have to substract between 15...30% of range, depending if you are a fast driver or not. but for chinese range claims, you have to substract another 10%.
      i guess the next version of the ID. Buzz could be nice with a bit better battery tech.

    • @InsideChinaAuto
      @InsideChinaAuto  3 месяца назад

      @stefanweilhartner4415 CLTC in general means a 20-25% drop from the stated claims (I should know, I've tested enough of them) but this car claims 15.9kWh per 100km and during our day of driving over 100km, I'm not sure the exact distance, we averaged the exact same figure with 4 on board, a bunch of equipment, and A/C on full, so it was pretty damn good.

      From the perspective of the Chinese market, compared to Japanese automakers, German automakers have shown a relatively swift response to electrification. While Germany's automotive industry maintains its excellent mechanical design capabilities, there are still significant shortcomings in terms of intelligence and networking. In the Chinese market, the first players likely to be eliminated are French, followed by Japanese and American brands. Thanks to their strong position in the luxury car segment, German automakers can still achieve significant profits within five years.

    Very impressive overall. Seeing this and the Xiaomi SU7, it appears the legacy automakers and most of the startup EV makers are light years behind these 2 Chinese EV startups(Li and Xiaomi). What is the price of the Li EV you drove? The Xiaomi's price is so low that it will outsell and thereby kill what is on the market now. Both vehicles very quickly charge. Does the Li EV have bidirectional charging?

      The Li does have bidirectional charging and costs 559,800 RMB in China, whatever that is currency translated today.

      The cost is $77,800.34 in USD. That is a bit expensive for most people in the US but very reasonable for what you get with this EV. Bidirectional charging is a big plus for those like me who lose power 2 to 3 times a year due to storms and who do not have solar power to generate electricity. This better than having a gas generator which would be used a few times a year at most. This car would be used everyday for a number of different things. The generator has only 1 use.
