      I'm not sure but it could be the static noise :)

    Thanks for this. I have the DF Robot version of the display/buttons board. The buttons identify ok with the library example but are off with your code so different resistors ae used by the various manufactures.

      Glad I could help and yes, you just need to serial print each analogRead and adjust it accordingly. Regards.

    Hi and thanks for sharing your tutorial with us, it was really good and easy to follow. I want to use the LCD display to display 6 x temperatures that I collect from various parts of my home heating system. Do you have a worked example of this that I can follow and modify. I have done some basic Arduino project and programming so not a complete beginner. Thanks Richard.

    Hi I tried the exact same code, but when I press the up button it displays 'down', for the down button it displays 'left' for the left button it displays 'select' and for the select button it does nothing. Com4 Port was the only option.

      Hi @Vaishnavi, you need to calibrate the onboard resistor values, we might have a considerable difference in resistor values

      @@TechToTinker My LCD does the same thing as Vaishnavi Gutti. Do you know how to calibrate the onboard resistor values?

    • @TechToTinker
      @TechToTinker  3 года назад +1

      @@tbrandx2 yes, you can analog read pin A0 so that when you press a button, its equivalent value will be sent in serial. Then, adjust the limit values found in the loop function.

      @@TechToTinker I commented out each key (ex. // lcd.print("Right " ); ) and added lcd.print(x); to get the values my lcd was generating.

    Can I use the LCD shield with my Raspberry Pi 3B+ ??

    • @TechToTinker
      @TechToTinker  3 года назад +1

      @Johan de Beer, the Keypad/LCD shield is designed for Arduino Uno/Arduino Mega but it should be possible to use with other platform such as RPi. I haven't tried it so I can't guide you
