Tiktok started off so well because it was musically 2. So all the people from musically got a cleaner version of the app, and the duet feature meant people could interact with eachother (kinda) which made the "ironic tiktoks". With the ironic videos becoming normal the consumer base shifted from girls doing makeup lip sync to all teens/young adults making funny videos about whatever was popular at the time or was just funny for no real reason, meaning more and more joined after seeing some videos
Do you know why it’s so big? It’s fun, the creators are constantly making it better for users. They aren’t money thirsty like Mark Zukerburg. They truly want a fun app. They know what teenagers like, and they make it easy for everyone to go viral. They’re creative, that’s pretty much it.
