can parametric mesh option be used for swiming pool floor of varying depth? How can we use parametric option to mesh a full structure. I tried it and noticed it only considers one meshing instance, i cant include another mesh area. Also can a model be made with both parametric mesh and plate mesh method in the same model. Thank you
Following are my responses -- Swimming pool, yes, parametric model/physical modeler is ideal for this type of structure. Parametric model can also be used to model FEM for the entire structure and it can handle interaction with other meshed surfaces easily, as it determines the density nodes and lines internally. Chance of improperly connected plate is 1%, that you need to check once using the plate to plate connectivity tool. Finally, you can combine parametric model with normal plate mesh method, there is no problem. Only thing, you need to be cautious about the exiting plate nodes if you use plate mesh option.
oh, that part is skipped in the video. I didn't select the opening option in the mesh configuration window, and included the openings later in the mesh. I have already discussed the process, so removed this part from the video.
For region load, we can create a region during mesh generation using parametric model and use the plates within that region to apply plate pressure load. On density line, we can apply line load as a nodal load or create a dummy member to apply UDL. Physical modeler provides better option for region and line load, you can check part 4 for morr details.
Are you looking for the wood and armer moment? Though it is not directly reported for plate elements in STAAD, but we can easily calculate this from the plate stress results using a simple macro. Also if you design the plates in RCDC FE or RAM Concept with FEA results, you can automatically consider this for slab design.
Excellent video. Keep up the good work and enlighten us more.
Thanks Avisekh, I will post few new structural videos in this month, keep watching.
Excellent demonstration.
Glad it was helpful!
Please publish video on plate stress interpretation, especially in global directions for irregular plates ann triangular plates
Enlightening video sir, i have great help from this video of yours. Can you make one video of flat slab modelling

why/how does it show some openings (19:30) even you did not tick add openings?

How to extract forces of slab to calculate reinforced after meshing and analysis please make vedio on that.
Plate result interpretation will be covered in a new series and will be published soon.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.....
parametric model is also not working
Sir . How we can apply region load and line load on density line

Is it possible to get wood armer forces?
