Hello Surojit, I am trying to model a shear wall which L shape. But the nodes generated for one outsand does not merge with the other direction outstand. Is there a way to get around. Could you show an example for the same. Thanks in advance.
How to design shear wall building with mivan shuttering. The structure has to be supported on shear walls. No beam ; columns to be provided. When I import staad analysis file to rcdc it says columns missing. Please help
Hello i have done some different models,if i have a beam supported direct on top of R.C Wall, that beam tends to have higher torsional moment and the memont tends to be hogging moment. Why does this happens in Staad,i thought beam resting on R.C will be supported by wall and moment will be negligible, for torsional moment i don't know what is the reason behind?
I am not sure, might be related to some modelling issue, if the plate is not meshed or if the beam is not connected properly with the meshed plate or due to some other reason.. It requires a detail investigation.
@@surojit_ghosh maybe i will try to send you STD file you help me to cross check,i tried to investigate what maybe the reason but untill i did not get an answer? And if you have time please check water tank design in RCDC,the actual moment in post process is not the one RCDC consider in design,RCDC picks a different value which is not true value.I posted that in bentley forum but there was no response
Sir i have a doubt staad defines cantilever beam automatically. Is there any option or workaround to undefine that?. I applied udl on beam in upward direction but that doesn't help. Please sir solve my problem.I switched from tekla to staad and tekla has that functionality to define an cantilever end..
@@surojit_ghosh sir i mean staad is assuming cantilever beam automatically after column, when i generate beam drawings in adv concrete design the beam is defined in two categories Reg and cantilever but in my plan there is a wall below that beam and i don't want that beam as cantilever,so is there any workaround to change the beam from cantilever to simply supported beam?
@@garvitkalla5230 maybe you should model a dummy column that is what i think at that cantilever part but Lets wait for Surojit he is an expert in Staad
Excellent presentation
Hello Surojit,
Could you please, tell me how to segregation member force (start, middle, end) ?

Sir, Using Plates as side walls in elevated water tanks, Analysis is not resulting wall load on supporting beams. kindly correct my mistakes

Sorry, I am unable to get your query properly, can you briefly describe the issue?

how to model that dummy column?
@@josephlucas4115 or maybe if i change those reactions at beam end it may work?
