Messiah: Pastoral Symphony

Messiah by Handel was written in 1741.
In the section describing the angels and shepherds there is an instrumental "symphony" depicting the shepherds watching their sheep in the countryside.
Other than the overture at the beginning, the Pastoral Symphony is the only instrumental movement in the Messiah.
This is offered as a way to begin our seasonal focus on Advent.
