I want to start a movement with Christians nationwide. As the banning of books closes in, buy a bible, heavily wrap in plastic and bury in your backyard, hide one in the walls. If we ever fall to socialism, it will be critical for future generations to possess God's word

“God, sometimes life gets me down and I find it hard to see things to be thankful for. Open my eyes to see the gifts you’ve given me in my life. I’m going to start by thanking you for loving me enough to come to earth and die so we can live together forever.
In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ,
    Amen.”

It’s a beautiful passage. I left the city I’ve always lived, left all behind to preach the gospel far away. Things were tough the first 6 years, but now things are getting much better. Yes, there were tears at first, but now God is giving me joy bringing the sheaves to me.

That analogy really helps in bearing our burdens.

The struggle is real, the suffering is painful, doubting about the goodness of God is strong .But different attitudes toward suffering will really make two different results. We need His word And His comfort especially in sufferings.

tricia2020 that is a cute analogy, my friend played college softball, she used to sat that, i had never heard it before. I thought she made it up herself. My Mom use to teach me that if you don't use your pain/hurt to draw closer to God than it was all for nothing.

The second part of devotion is very encouraging. I need to read and meditate on Psalms more consistently. Thank you.
The first part though, I always have a hard time appreciate Jesus' suffering. And I simply cannot apply His salvation in many areas of my life. Why is that? I should count my blessings and be more grateful, isn't it?

    A song of Ascents...
When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.
Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy.
Then it was said among the (Gentile) Nations:
“The LORD has done great things for them. The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy."
    Ascent
    /əˈsɛnt/ Noun
    Plural Noun: #Ascents
    1. A climb to the summit of a Mountain or Hill.
    2. An instance of Rising or Moving up through the Air. "The first balloon ascent was in 1783"
    Ascents - Similar:
Rise, Upward Movement, Take-off, Lift-off, Launch, Blast-off, Climb, Levitation, Soaring, Ascension, Scaling, Conquest, Scramble, Ascend...
    .
    Please Note:
This Psalm that describes God restoring His "blessings" to the Jews & His "Gathering" of the Jewish People from the Gentile Nations refers to a time in Jewish & Israeli History that has not happened yet...
This Psalm about God restoring Zion sometime in the Future is talking about when God restors a JEWISH State to Jewish People, but even more specifically He describes gathering Jews out of the Gentle Nations....
    Which means that:
    a) The Modern State of Israel is NOT yet a Jewish State & therefore God has not yet RESTORED His specific Blessings on the Jewd as a Collective, Religious Community nor has this unique "Gathering" from the Gentile Nations occurred...
    b) They are looking at Jerusalem as their Divine Alarm Clock except that no one told them they are Watching the wrong Alarm Clock....
    c) There is an element of Suprise awaiting, since no one kept their Eyes on the Alarm Clock used by the Confederacy
Many Prosperity Churches teach that the restoration of Zion/Jerusalem/Israel has already happened when the Modern State of Israel was Created & Jews began returning to live there; so therefore we must already be living in the "End Days" since Israel exists as a Nation & it ALREADY functions as God's Alarm Clock...
The PROBLEM with this little Fairy Tale, is that no one goes on to consider the End Days War against Israel known as "Jacob's Trouble" is actually still AWAITING the Modern State of Israel, and therefore this Prophetic Warning of a Future War against Israel is also speaking to every Gentile Nation where a single Jew live safely now...
So this time of Jacob's Trouble detailed in the Books of Ezekiel, Jeremiah & Isaiah; is also described by the Psalmist Asaph in Psalm 83 as a unique, specific War Against Modern Israel which involves a specific CONFEDERACY made up of certain Tribes, Organised Crime Gangs & associated Nations who have AGREED together to launch a War against Modern Israel with the purpose of Genocide & pillaging everything in Israel to take for themselves, that the Nation of Israel will be remembered no more...
A War known in the Sea Scrolls as a Final War between the Children of Light & the Children of Darkness...
And this Psalm 83 War planned by the CONFEDERACY of Tribes against Israel & described in great DETAIL which still MATCHES their Modern Identities today, their business partnerships, their shared Criminal Ties & Political aspirations can FAST become a time of "Australia's Trouble' or "America's Trouble" or "Europe's Trouble" on the same day this Genocidal CONFEDERACY decides its the day to engage in direct Warfare against the State of Israel & what that means for Jews living in the Gentile Nations as Exiles, right alongside the same Genocidal CONFEDERACY in America or Australia or Europe & who have already plotted to kill Jews for plunder....
Then Jacob's Trouble suddenly becomes the World's Trouble....
And who has prepared for it?
What Prophet has Warned such Nations? Or what Teacher has prepared the people?
Because Modern Israel is God's "Time Clock" remember? Israel has ALREADY been Gathered by God from the Gentile Nation's, remember?
They are all watching but they can't DISCERN the Seasons or Days they live in...
And what does that mean for a Redundant, Prosperity Church system that can't WARN its Government or People about the Psalm 83 CONFEDERACY living next door?
It's a broken, redundant & Political Church System that can't handle the reality they live in & invent children's stories to keep people Calm about such Prophecies concerning the End Times...
It means they won't be any help on that Day, instead they will just as CONFUSED as everyone else when the Prophesied Psalm 83 CONFEDERACY War suddenly sparks up at Home with Armed Organised Crime Groups who have to be Engaged & Fought Locally to have any impact, influence or control over their Hate Driven Actions Abroad...
    Remember that...
The Modern State of Israel is NOT a Jewish State! That happens after the time of Jacob's Trouble....

Thanks for your teaching. I appreciate your respect for the poetic nature of the psalms in particular. I'm going to question this teaching, respectfully🎈🤔😁... the word also says that He collects our tears in a bottle, which suggests that our tears/sadness/suffering, are precious in His sight. What do you think? God bless

If Tim Keller would answer just 2 questions he could clear up a lot of doubts that people have about him.
    #1
Why did Tim Keller allow 4 homosexuals perform a gay ballet in his church?
    #2
Why doesn’t Tim Keller admit or deny that he’s a Marxist?
