Sentences are made complete with a variety of phrases. The prepositions help join everything together. The words that join segments of a sentence together are words like these: and, so, in for, to, with, on, but, yet, before, after, when. I live in Britain, AND Jennifer lives in America. The teacher is too busy, SO she cannot do corrections today. She will see you IN the afternoon. I am not making another lesson about verbs, FOR I have made plenty already. We must go outdoors TO get fresh air. The driver delivers furniture WITH a workmate. It is now time to see what is ON television. It is late, BUT I don't mind. Tom hunted all day, YET he could not find it. I will see you BEFORE the evening falls. It should start raining AFTER five dry months. The assignment will be completed WHEN the research is done.
He hasn't ridden a bike since he was a boy . We have played better since joined the team . Mam , should we only use past or present perfect in the clause which started with the subordinate conjunction " SINCE" even though main sentence in present tense
Hello teacher Jennifer, I have a question. I've watched this video three times and there is something I still don't get. What would be the difference between a Clause and a Sentence? I've been told that a sentence is a complete idea, where you have a subject verb and object, but your examples of Clauses show us complete ideas too. Are they synonyms?

Hi. I'm fine. How are you doing?
He hasn't ridden a bike since he was a boy .
We have played better since joined the team .
Mam , should we only use past or present perfect in the clause which started with the subordinate conjunction " SINCE" even though main sentence in present tense
You can use since + simple past (since he was a boy), -ing form (since joining the team), date (since that day/ since last November).
What is meant by "Short things get closer" Please let me know mam...
Thank you. 😊
Hi. I'm not sure of the context. The wording isn't very clear. It may be a reference to time.
Good 👍
Thanks!

An independent clause is a simple sentence.
>> You asked a question.
A dependent clause must join together with a main clause (independent) to make complete sense.
>> Because something wasn't clear.
>>> You asked a question because something wasn't clear. = This is a complex sentence.
@@Englishwithjennifer Thanks 🙏
Could you please help me to clear dis doubt?
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Here A thing of beauty is a clause or phrase? If it's clause could you please tell me why?
A thing = noun phrase
of beauty = prepositional phrase
a thing of beauty = the subject
Clauses must have a subject and a verb.
