Mike! That was exceptional! I love how you blend styles of music, the melody, rhythm, and syncopation. Next thing you know Derek Trucks is playing a jazz standard to a reggae beat, no it's Nirvana! Thanks for the ear candy! The new Neutrino V2 has an improved board and opto coupler matching. Making it easier for us to ensure each effect pedal is a perfectly tuned analog envelope controlled filter. Exceptional performance and tone. BowWoWow Brown Chicken Brown Cow! Then we put the output level correction on the side of the pedal. No more going under the hood for final adjustments. Thanks for an excellent demo with a nod to the Dead at the end! ;-)
Right as I'm reading this the JRAD set on FB comes back on from set break and opens with music never stopped and i'm sitting here wondering if he is using this same pedal! ha ha Great sounding pedal and super demo!!
Would be cool if these kind of pedal had a sidechain input or loop similar to noise gates so you could run it after dirt but use a clean signal with better transients to trigger the envelope.
I also wonder how you, the reviewer and fellow commenters compare this to the Ibanez / Maxon AF9. My favorite old one has major problems but I still use it.
I noticed you also reviewed Pigtronix Resotronic. If one were to own only one, which and why? The Pig seems to do everything this plus some, am I wrong?
I wanted something that would give me a classic Jerry Garcia Mu-Tron sound. I got the EH Q-Tron Plus, which is a fine pedal and has gotten me very close but not quite there. I'm no expert by any means, but as I listen to Garcia's greatest envelope filter tone (e.g., any Shakedown or Fire on the Mountain from fall '79 through the mid 80's) it seems to me that what makes it so unique and distinctive is that you hear no pick attack whatsoever. That is the key. I've tried everything with the Q-Tron Plus and come very close but cannot completely eliminate pick attack sound. (It could be my playing or some other gear limitation maybe...). Does this pedal do it?
morgan ghetti Since my original post I've gotten the settings right and figured out where to put it in my chain and how to play when it's engaged (with a soft touch), and it actually gets the job done. Not perfect, but close enough. I'm very happy with it.
I can’t make my Snow White do it’s thing, just can’t find that sweet spot consistently, pita That’s why I’m checking out the keeley It seems responsive in almost every position he’s setting
@gitarman666 somehow mine sits perfect, harder I play the more it kicks in. Try going onto diff pick ups and volumes. Tbh I did purchase Snow White because I found other qtron style filters too volume spikey or unpredictable and wanted controlled and subtle.

is it possible to mod the circuit to have an effects loop? so the envelope tracking can be done separate to the actual filter?
@@ripwildy2022 Not this one. But a future version would have such independence.

Did anybody else pick up on the fact that in the beginning he played a funk version of All Apologies by Nirvana
Robert Keeley did it again! I love that man.
Did you turn on another effect for the Chameleon riff? It sounds great.
Nevermind, I didn't realize there was a direction switch .
Doing the NEUTRON DANCE!
god damn it! one one more frickin thing i gotta buy
Great demo... this is what i want an envelope filter for... clean garcia type tones... this vid just made my mind up for me
Auto caption goes bonkers on this demo. Good job on the auto wah
Let's back it up your fly. Yah, yah, yah, yah, yah...
Makes me want to give one of these another try. Great demo MH. top notch as usual!
This version two is so much easier for us to tune the pair of optos. It makes each one a perfect example of the classic envelope filter.

That's the ticket. EH makes (made?) a Q-Tron that has that.
virtuososo It's the Q-Tron Plus - it has an effects loop. I bought one used but EH still makes it.
Great sounding pedal! Only weird thing is that the top knob only has 3 positions - wonder why they didn't just make that a switch?

Gotta find the Sweet spot people..these modern effects are amazing and complex

Great demo, Mike. How would you compare this to the 3Leaf Proton? (Another great demo on that one.)

Love the single-note playing, but please...more funky chords!
How does this compare with the Lovepedal Rubber Chicken you previously demoed?
MH has never met an Envelope Filter he didn't like
He knows how to play to a auto wah for certain! ;-)

only one way to find out 🤓
Sounds like it does. Mayer uses a q tron with dead and co and it sounds correct to me??

Neutrino or Snow White ? Thanks for the demo.

You are good 👏👏👏👏👏
Sounds funny
Gaaah! What IS the first song?!
Michael Kinney Nirvanas All Apologies
All apologies, but this cover nirvana for envelope filter fans.
It's like a jam band cover of Nirvana
se parece un poco a l q-tron ..
I want to like this but it sounds like I’m drowning in an 8 bit game
I don't see how those are mutually exclusive
Will never be a Mutron.
