Looks like I'm the only one who actually likes this song.
I particularly like Paul's vocal delivery (Apparently recorded in one miraculous take), his bass playing and the "gospel" background vocals, made almost entirely by Paul with some Hamish Stuart in.
Elvis Costello sings some backing vocals during the chorus.
I like the switch of mood and key between verses and choruses.
    It's a sweet little thing.
Tomorrow's song is another of the album's masterpieces for me

I like it very much but yes the next song is a absolute killer. Maybe one of the best coming up. Don't Be Careless Love I intially didn't like but after maybe five listens it grew on me more and more over time as so many Paul songs do. It's a slow grower.

I think this song is Paul being a dad and worrying about his kids. It reminds me a lot (lyrically) of Waterfalls from McCartney II. Paul definitely looks out for his family.

Such a haunting and beautiful song, really love this track, written by McCartney and MacManus, with Elvis on backing vocals.

Paul should have put "Same Love" instead of this track. That 1988 recording was great and didn't get anywhere until 1997 when it became a B-side.

Aside from some jarring lyrics, I like this song. Musically, it's almost like a medley with one repeat. The gospel chorus, falsetto vocals, keyboards, and bass are delicious.

I think this song is underrated - sounds like a Wings track to me, especially on the choruses. It did take a while to grow on me though.

The Don't be careless chorus sounds like Yoko Ono is in the background vocals.

Feels like a sequel to Waterfalls to me. Why's Paul so worried about his loved ones going out unchaperoned in the world? Sure, he's a celebrity and kidnapping's an issue, but keep your murder dreams to yourself, man.😅
The Pretty Little Head video has a similar message. You think things are bad at home? Wait til you're out in the real world, where it's really dangerous.

This song still hasn't caught me later. Generally a fairly strong album, but this is a down moment for me.

The low point, after which the album is falling apart

I mostly agree but not completely because I think That Day is Done is a great track. I definietly think side one is much stronger than side two. 'How Many People' is harmless pop and not without much kick, and 'Motor Of Love' meanders forever. I think MOL could have been better done with an edit cut and less of the 80's ohhs and ahh's - but then I contadict myself again as the ohhs and ahhs in the song 'Kicked Around No More' (B-side from Off the Ground's cd single Hope of Deliverance) is outstanding. Sorry I digress. As for Ou est le soleil it seems to divide listeners. I know many who love it but it's not for me at all. Only on the cd of course. Cheerio.

I like almost nothing about this track, and that's something I don't think I would say about almost any other song in McCartney's vast catalogue!

@@Uetti I'm afraid I *especially* don't like Paul's vocal performance during much of this. The tune has interesting and unusual twists and I can imagine liking it in a very different arrangement but I don't feel it's served by this production. All in all a bit odd and - for once! - just not attractive.

🤣 This song goes over everyone's head!!!! Not one of Paul's best moments...One of his weaker collaborative songs. Demo is slightly "better". Rest of album rocks!!!

I think it's a good song, but it's an acquired taste. I don't think I understood the song musically on the first several listens. I'll also say that it works better when heard as a part of the album's program, rather than as a stand-alone song.

"Saw your face in the paper, saw your body rolled up in a rug. Chopped up into two little pieces by some thug." I think maybe Paul was singing about the horror of what happened to Lennon.

Not one of the best from the McCartney/MacManus writing team. Should have instead included "Back on My Feet", or "Same Love" both very good b-sides.

Weakest song on the album for me. Paul’s falsetto usually misses me and this is no exception. His voice almost sounds frail to me, and this album is where his voice starts to lose its strength.
