Have the exact motor...had to take it all apart, like you, to clean crap out of carbs, and your video was very helpful. Thanks, ...a hint to those doing a motor like this one with carbs ...when putting it all back together, place a piece of 4x4 under carbs once fuel lines are back on and then it becomes so so much simpler to insert bolts to tie it all together...

To add to your video, you also need to pull the idle cap and clean idle jet. Also pull the larger cap and pull the purculator tube and and clean. Make sure you clean the float and needle valve. If you don't do this you have completely wasted your time. These jets must be cleaned. Just cleaning the bowl will not fix any problem. The caps I refer to in the middle of the fuel bowl as you remove the float have screw driver slots as does the idle jet lower in the tube. Please be careful taking these out not to damage. Clean and install in reverse order. The idle jet is a very small hole, so you will need a jet cleaner or small wire
Hope this helps and good luck.

Yes I agree, I did this video just so I could watch back and assemble the carb. I cleaned out all the ports and passages as well. Thanks for the tips ;)

I am hoping you can help me . I have the same motor. On top the carb assembly the circle like piece there is that little black tube. If I’m look the side that goes mine is disconnected and flowing gas. Should it be connected or is it a little air hose? Trying to eliminate before taking apart carb or if it has become disconnected? Thanks

I have a 2000 50hp 4 stroke that looks just like this and it runs fast at idle. Is there a adjustment screw for this?

Ive got a 40hp 3 cylinder on my 16' aluminum boat. Is it true that this can be increased to 60hp by switching out the carb and some other components?

You only have to change the jets in the carburetors.
