      I've heard them called torch tip cleaners, as well as carburetor jet cleaners. I got mine from amazon: amzn.to/3S4lT1Z (you can give some to your friends too because there is several)

    Thanks for the great video. How do I know what rebuild kit to get. My carb says WME but no number after. It says 3301-9013c on it. It’s from a 2000 Mercury 90elpto. The jet is a .060. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Are all the WME gaskets the same? Thanks

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  9 месяцев назад +1

      The gaskets should be the same across all the wme carbs, the changes were jetting and float height type stuff if I'm thinking correctly.
      So you'll be in good shape with the kit from the description of the video: amzn.to/3vsogjt
      Or this Sierra branded kit: amzn.to/3Spx30y
      Keep in mind if you've got more than one carb you'll need a kit for each of them.

    I have a 100hp mercury from 1992. The 3rd carb from the bottom is leaking a lot of fuel from the hole you are spraying at 4.06. Is that hole a overflow? If it is, then propably the floats needle is stuck because of gunk? I dont think the level is set incorrectly because that is the only carb that leaks.

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  7 месяцев назад

      Its been a minute since I've had a WME apart, but I do believe that is the overflow as it is connected directly to the float bowl.
      The bottom carb is the most likely to collect debris and water. I just rebuilt a different set of carbs (tillotson maybe?) and the bottom carb had a rust stain at the bottom of the bowl and the float was stuck.
      I'd bet if you pop it apart you will find something either rusted or some gunk that has been assisted by gravity and jammed up the works in that carb.

      @@trythistv thats what i thought that the float needle valve is stuck. I know there is gunk because on the bottom of the water seperator was alot of gunk 😁

    When or how do you know to replace Reed valves and Reed blocks? Any help would be appreciated ed. Ty

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  Год назад +2

      If any are chipped or damaged they need to be replaced, or if they are worn to the point they hang open slightly it may degrade performance slightly.
      It also depends, some motors came with steel reeds which won't chip, but can cause big problems if they break off and get jammed in a cylinder, but they also last for a very long time.
      Other engines came with fiberglass, plastic, or carbon fiber type material reed valves, which may need to be replaced more often than the steel ones but can offer some advantages in the performance and idle quality.
