Well done sir! Thanks for sharing. I've got an identical motor that's idling just a little rough. Mine motor is a 1992. I just did a complete electrical parts overhaul. I was apprehensive about digging into the fuel system, but thanks to your video, now I'll remove and clean the carburetors.
Thanks for this video! We just bought an 88 ranger 393v that came w a 6 cylinder 87 Johnson 150. The oil injectors removed to run 2 stroke. This is my first bass boat and power engine, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Again I'm completely new to motors, sometimes she seems she's a little rough on idle so I thought, hmm maybe the carbs need cleaned
what does the holes in the back of the carbs? i have a mercury 50hp 2 stroke, and it is more fuel flow on one carb? and bogging when i accelerate. from sweden not very good english
Took my boat out today. Idles fine and starts right up, BUT once i open it up all the way it will run but it acts like it fights for gas? Dirty carb? Fuel is fresh and the gas tank is new
Hey bud do you know if you can buy cowling covers for a 1994 50 hp mercury I’m thinking about buying one but wanted to know if you could buy this part still
Yes I did not go into that on this video cause u have to set the screws on each carb they can be very tricky to adjust if u dont get it right it will Ethier be lean or to rich the best way to set low speed is with gauges
Just bought a boat with this motor. Now I feel confident to do the carbs.. THANKS

How did it work out for you?
It worked out great! I simply focused on the basics: fuel, air, spark. I just cleaned all the parts, an replaced ones in doubt.@@officialWWM
Thanks mate. Very detailed and extremely helpful! Cheers from Tasmania.

Will want to clean each intake hole behind the carb before putting the carbs back on as well but great jobs showing how easy it can be.
I agree I have seen screws and other stuff in the reeds

done carb clean 13 times now and changed membran
Change your filters
Thanks for the great video. Helped me out.
Mans did this shit one handed
that float is adjustable, just bend the little metal tab the needle hangs on
You are correct I did not notice it when I done it
I didn’t see any gaskets when you took the carb apart, or on the intake manifold. We’re there any gaskets?
Excellent
Great video
very good video
Great video question does that high speed jet has a hole or is it sealed
It has a hole. That’s how the fuel goes in!
Took my boat out today. Idles fine and starts right up, BUT once i open it up all the way it will run but it acts like it fights for gas? Dirty carb? Fuel is fresh and the gas tank is new
I would say so starving for fuel sounds like the high speed jets
Easiest way I know how to tell is choke it when trying to get on plane if it increases rpm for a few seconds most likely it's the jets
Did you take off the oil pump system and just convert it to pre mix? If so, how did you do it?
Hey bud do you know if you can buy cowling covers for a 1994 50 hp mercury I’m thinking about buying one but wanted to know if you could buy this part still
What did you use to clean the carbs?
I used a ultrasonic cleaner I got from harbor freight and the used air to blow through the journals
hey , is it not necessary to use a gasket when remounting the carbs?
Yes there is a gasket behind the carbs on the intake alot of times it is stuck to the carb or on the intake may not be able to see it on the video
Is there an idle jet?
Yes I did not go into that on this video cause u have to set the screws on each carb they can be very tricky to adjust if u dont get it right it will Ethier be lean or to rich the best way to set low speed is with gauges
Great work... Just subscribed your channel....

Are there no gaskets between motor and carbs?
What year is that motor?
90s probs
Mine only has two carbs.
Half a job, basically if you're not cleaning the whole system a waist of time.
really where is your video and whats half the job also this motor has been doing perfect on this half a job waste of time
