I absolutely love watching first time reactions to them, because my first reaction was "Set the World on Fire" then "Thunder Vengeance" and my mouth was on the ground and I laughed, cried, rocked, laughed and cried some more. They gave me hope for future metal, because I am over all American metal from the 90s on....it's all so done.

Absolutely my favorite band, was Iron Maiden but these ladies stole that torch and are running with it. Scream for Me live is another great song and so is Set The World on FIre live. Live is the best way to go if you have a choice except for Blood Fest, (I think that is the festivals name) the audio is not very good because of stage change at last minute. My guess is the recommendation came from our good friend Andy Helms. Kudos, and congratulations on finding the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako have composed most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. and aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and at this point they’ve taken it to another level. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. They are generally best live. Petite models who wear white dresses and high heels when they perform LIVE to stand out from other metal bands and make it easier to see them on stage. This song is GOOD but not in their top 10 of the 50+ catalog they have since 2017. Power, Thrash, Speed, Prog, Rock, Ballads and Classical Piano & Metal (yes classical piano and metal). The 4' 9" drummer Haruna is a run away nuke on overload from start to finish. The M & M show guitarists are the best duo playing LIVE today. Midori/Blond ESP is the extrovert Flash & Shred Queen who dropped out of Pharmacy school and gave up piano at 20 to learn guitar. Miyako/Dark hair is the introvert musical savant who is a classical trained pianist from age 3 (wait till you hear her on the keys) who picked up the Dean at 18 and taught herself to play guitar and is the Melodic Queen of the Harmonics/Tones. Absolutely my favorite band, was Iron Maiden but these ladies stole that torch and are running with it. Scream for Me live is another great song and so is Set The World on FIre live. Live is the best way to go if you have a choice except for Blood Fest, (I think that is the festivals name) the audio is not very good because of stage change at last minute. My guess is the recommendation came from our good friend Andy Helms. Kudos, and congratulations on finding the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako have composed most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. and aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and at this point they’ve taken it to another level.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands.

Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This song is so intense....LMAO, you my friend have no idea what rabbit-hole you just tumbled down!!! Petite models who wear white dresses and high heels when they perform LIVE to stand out from other metal bands and make it easier to see them on stage. This song is GOOD but not in their top 10 of the 50+ catalog they have since 2017. Power, Thrash, Speed, Prog, Rock, Ballads and Classical Piano & Metal (yes classical piano and metal). The 4' 9" drummer Haruna is a run away nuke on overload from start to finish. The M & M show guitarists are the best duo playing LIVE today. Midori/Blond ESP is the extrovert Flash & Shred Queen who dropped out of Pharmacy school and gave up piano at 20 to learn guitar. Miyako/Dark hair is the introvert musical savant who is a classical trained pianist from age 3 (wait till you hear her on the keys) who picked up the Dean at 18 and taught herself to play guitar and is the Melodic Queen of the Harmonics/Tones. The 4' 10" Napoleon vocalist Asami is an ex-ballerina student who was a backup RnB/Jazz/Soul singer and this is her first metal band, but she dominates the stage and thunders her range out over the layers behind her. Miho/bass is the founder and true metal-head who put this vision of what a metal band should be together. She recently left for personal reasons and we await her replacement. 1st all female Japanese band to play the Mecca of Metal, Wacken Open Air (2018), Hammer's Best New Metal Band (2018). Everything they do is epic and always flawless LIVE as they are relentless in their practices even though they have insane talent. If you want the real guitars:
