    Great demo - a lot of good sounds, very thorough explanation. Kudos!

    Hi there. There was kind of a flurry of notes, but it I think I was going back and forth between a D#minor & an A#major. Notes were D#, A#, F#, F, & D. If you are interested there is some good some on chord construction on the AskAGuitarPro website as well. Thanks for stopping!

    No problem. I just picked up a couple of the TC Electronics pedals, and one of them is a Chorus with a "tri chorus" mode which is really fat and warm, and a different sound to the CH-1. I've only just got it, so I'll have to play around with a bit more, but I like what I'm hearing.
    They are a bit expensive, but they are solidly made, true bypass and have stereo "in" and 'out", plus you have the feature where you can download custom "patches" from their website, so it's pretty versatile!

    Somewhat. I use a One-Spot for most of my pedals. However, I do use a 12 volt power supply for my Dunlop Univibe. Thanks for the question.

  • @2112GTR

    Actually, the change came in October 2001. I have a 15 year old analogue CH-1 which has a "pink" label on the bottom. They also came in a "blue" label version that were also analogue.
    Anything after that date came with a "grey" label (I think) and are digital. I think the old ones definitely sound warmer to my ears. It's quite a subtle effect the CH-1, so if you are looking for something more "extreme", then it's best to look elsewhere!!
    I LOVE the sound of the one I have!

    Good question. I have both a Boss AC power adaptor (PSA-120T) as well as a One Spot that I use to power it. Hope this helps brother.

    Hey there. I haven't spent much time with the CE-2 or compared it head to head vs. the CE-1. Hmm....Sounds like a potential shootout video I'll have to look at doing down the road. Thx. for stopping!

    Yea I think all these fx that balance dry/wet internally are going to have a weak dry signal I would recommend splitting the dry signal before the fx. 👍

  • @MedievalRichard
    @MedievalRichard 8 лет назад

    So you recommend to keep the effects level and EQ level at high noon and the rest change at your pleasure so to speak? I just got one of these with my new Boss pedal board, with other pedals and just need ideas.

    • @AskAGuitarPro
      @AskAGuitarPro  8 лет назад +2

      I didn't tweak those parameters much, but if you like the sounds at those levels, go for it. At least it's a starting point, and you can tweak to your liking from there.

  • @yuri908

    What notes are you using in 6:15 min to 6:40 min?? I just bought a chorus pedal!

  • @gkol69
    @gkol69 9 лет назад +7

    You didn't touch the EQ and E. LEVEL controls at all !!! By the way, the E. Level is a MIX between the dry and the effected signal, not the output of the pedal. You could get a lot more sounds by turning fully clockwise the E. Level and use the EQ knob...

    • @AskAGuitarPro
      @AskAGuitarPro  9 лет назад +3

      George is right.....I stated this incorrectly......the effect level is how much of the effect is incorporated into the dry signal, not the overall volume. Good catch. Sorry for not tweaking the E.Q. knob......i think you're right about getting additional sounds....although I had the E.Q. set to where I thought the tone was very warm.

      AskAGuitarPro I didn't want to be smart and offend you, sorry if I did!! I just wanted the review to cover all the bases and show all the capabilities of the pedal.

    The boss is OK. But the hard to find Brazillian made Onner CH-2 Nitrogen Chorus is the best I've heard within this pedal price range. Other's that work good are Digitech CF-7 Chorus Factory chorus, Yamaha Super Stereo chorus, and the older DOD 4 knob chorus pedals. The DOD F64 Ice Box 4 knob pedal is a pretty good one. But none of these can really out do the Onner Nitrogen pedal. Even the older 3 knob Nitrogen kicks butt. Too bad they're not that easy to come by

      Hard to know, exactly, as there are a ton of chorus pedals out there, not to mention many studios probably use rack effects.

    It's set to unity gain? Gain and blend are not the same. This pedal does not change gain. It can't help but be set to unity gain because nothing gets louder when you twist the knobs...

    hi friend! good demo! I have a Boss CE2, and am considering buying a Boss ch1... I think the CE2 with distortion does not sound good .. I think the CH1 is ideal, what is your opinion? Joe Satriani used this Boss CH1 in early years ... a big hug friend!

      I don't like the tone or sound from this pedal either. I like my regular boss ce-5 pedal. so much better. I love warm tones, but this one was way too warm.

    • @Broadcast1902
      @Broadcast1902 8 лет назад +1

      +Misael Cartagena, Agreed that this pedal is extremely warm, but it all depends what you're playing it through. I'm using it with my Les Paul traditional through a VOX-AC30 valve amp. Anything other than this pedal just sounded awfull and really tinny, in my set up the warm tones was exactly what I wanted.

      Tim Summers i play bachata so i have an acoustic electric guitar (two actually) with a gibson 57 humbucker mounted into the soundhole, wired straight to the preamp. I have a Yamaha APX 500III and a Yamaha APX 10D, the latter being my favorite. The tone is amazing when plugged into a ge7 and the ce5.
