When Richard Williams invented the open stance, he was called crazy for having Venus and Serena play that way. He basically responded with the stance shaving time in ball prep, and allowed them to hit with more power. Again, he was just some crazy guy that knew nothing about tennis to other coaches. He was the running joke. Today all the players hit open stanced. Seems that he wasn't as nutty as the established coaches tried to make him.
@sunglee3935 just as Borg and Brugera playing open stance, was an anomaly among players. .. Just as taking the ball super early was by Agassi. The Williams sisters made it an openly obvious advantage.in matches. As a results tons of coaches and players saw that to stay competitive, they would need to do the same. Today, mostly every player hits open.
@ by 90’s open stance was already widely used in the pros, at least semi open stance. Even ATP forehand, I see Sampras was doing it too when I watch on RUclips and he was considered a classic player. Even Lendl was hitting semi open, open stance. He is from the 80’s.
Bola baja las piernas, no el tronco, el cuerpo hacia adelante en el golpe de derecha, no inclinada para atras, aceleracion del brazo, acompana do con el cuerpo.. Asi le das potencia al golpe.. 👌
Question- it looks like she holds the racquet too close to her body on the backhand strokes which could cut down on her power and the ability to direct the ball to different parts of the court. (I am not any kind of coach but love to observe how others play)
Yes, it would impact her ability to drive into and through the ball. That is something I’m sure they’ll correct, but it’s obvious she’s been doing it for a long time and has learned to compensate for some of that. The more pure stroke would be to release her elbows and extend.
You did a great job Christophe!
Very good solid instruction! Not complicated. Excellent
Very good footwork and nice clean and hard ballstriking...
He instructed her to turn then step. Makes all the difference.
Great down the line BH’s
wow......lovely
She’s great

"invented the open stance" ???
@deepakhegde73 Yeah, Richard Williams kids made the open stance acceptable, at a period where mostly everyone played from close stances.
@@gregchamberlain7554the pros were doing it already, you think the Spanish players like Brugera didn’t play open stance at French open?

Is it normal to lift your back foot every time you hit forehand?
The important thing is making a step foward after you hit with the back foot so you make sure u are using the hip
Absolutely that is where the power come from.
What challenges do you face when working on your timing?
Contact with the ball
Being late when my opponent plays with a lot of power.
Late preparation
I take the ball too forward and end up putting backspin instead of top

Great video 🍑🍑🍑
Sounds exactly the same as Patrick. Any coach knows this basic stuff. Hope you don’t pay a lot of money for this.
I’ve heard some huge numbers a couple times but don’t know for sure, if anyone knows the price lmk

I searched it up and it’s 7500 euros for one lesson with Patrick.
Wta tennis is mostly disgusting, just trying to overhit the other girl from baseline, that's all tactics.
Fritz vs Tiafoe was the same. Zero tactics just see who can hit harder down the middle
