Washington, Maryland, Oregon, Boise state, Wyoming, Florida, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Oklahoma state just to name a few but nothing and I mean nothing was impressive as the start of the Virginia tech game. The most amazing pre game ritual i have ever experienced. I still get goosebumps about it when sandman comes on the radio.

I WAS THERE!!! HOLY HECK. This was my first game at VT (I am an international grad student here) and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. I jumped and danced so much that day even though I know nothing about American Football :P (I was explained the rules by my friend during the game)
I’ve been to a lot of really good Tech Games, but fan wise, that was the craziest one. 45 minutes before the game started it was already going crazy!!!!
I remember in 2000 when this first started in the lightning bowl against GT. 2003 was INSANE against Miami. Some heartbreaks but many more great memories like this one
I was expecting fireworks and craziness. Nope, just a MASSIVE CROWD BOUNCING TO THE TRIBAL SOUNDS OF ENTER SANDMAN!!! That was incredible. You can feel yourself being there through the screen. And the coach of the other team looking super uncomfortable was priceless too
The other coach actually brought his team out so they could experience enter sandman. That may not have been a good idea- his team was projected to go undefeated but lost badly that day.
Hokie here! i was at the UNC game, and it was honestly the best experience i’ve ever had, and i’m not even into football. Lane Stadium and the sense of community it brings is honestly one of the greatest things about VT

This was the first game after everyone was pent up due to Covid. The crowd was ecstatic to be at a live game! And there was a full stadium “Rocking the House! To this great Metallica classic song! ❤
I officially switched from the NFL to college football. They play for the passion of the game unlike the overpaid, "spit in Amercan's faces", spoiled NFL brats we have now. College football..... is what America needs
Honestly, it’s insane how big sports are in the US. Here in the UK you barely get professional football (soccer) games that look this crowded and full of life.. It must be a trip playing in front of all those people..
@@LomuHabana Nah. Even Anfield famed for its "Magestic atmosphere" dies out after the first 10 mins and comes back for the last 5 mins. If you want a good example of lively crowds, go to Eastern Europe, and even then violence doesnt necessarily make a good crowd.

You just have to go to a club which isn’t as corrupted by money as the big teams/leagues. Lower tier club in Germany (like Dynamo Dresden, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Chemnitz) have great fans and fill quite big stadiums without having to be extraordinarily successful. Some exceptions in the Bundesliga as well (Frankfurt and Köln are the best examples). In England you have Millwall which are quite fanatic, as well as clubs like Bolton Wanderers. Sadly the English concept of commerce is destroying the culture for most bigger clubs, even in the Championship (2tier). And of course you have clubs from smaller countries like the Scandinavians,however they do not have that large crowds, usually.
This is awesome. But also I've been to a few Tennessee Vols games! The running Thur the opening T is great as well with Rocky Top playing with almost 100,000 fans yelling.
This was from Labor Day weekend a few days ago. Tech requires vaccination of all student and staff (a small percentage don’t but require weekly testing) so they’re more relaxed on COVID restrictions.

As a UNC fan who has been there live, lemme tell you-- Lane Stadium in Blacksburg is a football madhouse. That's a hell of an environment for football, not even gonna lie.
Congratulations to the structural engineers who designed the stadium and full props the local building code drafters. That's the sort of dynamic load testing money can't buy.
We in Australia have NOTHING that compares to College Football. Even a professional level National Rugby League game hasn't got 10% of the passion shown here. Maybe Aussie Rules Football at the professional level is the closest we got, but still, this is on another level.

Premier league teams have on average more than 50k spectators and the atmosphere in somewhat any British voetbal stadium is better than this.
