@lordzilu1584 Actually its being released for consoles as well, just at a later date. CD Projekt' RED's Jan Bartkowicz said that they designed it with a console in mind and that you can play the entire game using a controller. The console version just wont release at the same time, it will release a couple months later as it is their first console title and they want to do it in house and do it right. Look it up on IGN and you will see.
@HybridEnergy Actually the project leader wants to make a console version at some point. I noticed the game uses very low VRAM yet it eats away the CPU, the design is very console friendly. Ofcourse there won't be MLAA and Uber sampling on the consoles, LOD might be lowered, but the blur and DOF will be inthere, also SSAO might work. Consoles have a decent CPU unit, even if their 5 years old.

I haven't played the Witcher 2 yet, but I do know that the bald assassin guy originally had a deeper voice, which was much more badass. I wish they hadn't changed it.
Seriously considering getting this game. I never played the first one though, and wanted to know if I should play through the first one before getting the second.
in terms of gameplay I thought it was the best Fantasy RPG of the decade. The setting was great, the story was believably dark and the characters were nicely written. Combat wise I liked the way the Witcher fought, I wish there had been more to the alternate weapons, but the potion creation and utilization was great when you got into the system. If they changed nothing but the grapics and storyline this is a day one buy for me.

Skyrim is excellent, but once you've played It once, you've played It all. The Witcher 2 Is excellent, but after you've played It once you can come come back and literally play a completely different experience. That's the great thing about the witcher 2, despite its 'short' 35 hour length, there's about six other COMPLETELY different stories that you can play, because the choices In game drastically change how it plays out. This Is why it is the best RPG ever made.
@KINGhotaru11 You are watercooling your 930 and than giving it an overclock of 0.2 GHz? OC it to 4 GHz already. In a few weeks I'll be buying a i7 2600K and I'll OC it on air to 4.5 or 5 GHz. Also GTX 580 yay :D Oh and to answer your question: duh :P
Lawd, Geralt's face looked so off in this trailer. Glad they touched it before release, either that of the original edition or only the enhanced edition, which I play. Now it looks even better than in the original game, making that one look not much less odd than the one in this trailer. Came here for a comparison of Letho's voice. Someone said the one in this sounded deeper and just better. Pfffff! Not deeper, not really. And definitely not better. His final voice is great, characteristic.
if you have a save file from witcher 1, u can take some money and equipment over to witcher 2, but it isn't essential if you feel like starting from witcher 2 :)
@Noooxid As you might have noticed so is the game really hard and it could be a good idea to change your difficulty to easy in the early game. And like Noooxid said your character will grow in strength after each level - which will make it easier and you will adopt your own playstyle. Great game btw, and im hoping that they will realese a third witcher in the mere future.
As long as the dialouge is better written/translated, and the game not buried in MMO style grind quests, this game certainly has the potential to easily surpass the first one.
This is the first game ever which might have a chance to replace Baldur's Gate 2 as my alltime favorite. I was never before so psyched about a game just by seeing some trailers.

@Aljeron100 I'm sure they are just saying that to inform people. People who played the game know that, but others may not. PLUS, they are talking about re-releasing the witcher on consoles. I prob won't play it again just for that, but it opens up a wider audience.

Only 2 of the 5 have been released in English with the 3rd potentially being released later this year. If you even find a book store, buy it. Immediately. Geralt looked silly here, ended up looking much better in the final design, although after playing Witcher 3, his Witcher 2 face really bugs me and I use mods that makes him look more like in TW3. also Letho and Iorveth had such different voices wow! And Iorveth's face and eyes looks slightly different (still gorgeous tho) and he looks completely wasted or high in that speech hahaha. Interesting look tho he seams much raw here, you really have the sense he's an old elf that has been trough a lot.
@Rawnchie14 It's not really that strange. This game utilizes a lot of new technology on the PC that you very rarely see in any other games. You really can't record that epicness. You have to experience it.

you can use both. the swords are made of steel and silver respectively, in which the steel is for killing humans and the silver for killing monsters.

How did that summer go
in terms of gameplay I thought it was the best Fantasy RPG of the decade. The setting was great, the story was believably dark and the characters were nicely written.

They are 2 different games, and this is better.
You'll miss out on some references and character backgrounds, but it won't affect the main plot.

PS3 and Xbox versions arent confirmed 100% and they said that they will look into making a console version if they are done with the PC version.
