If anyone from Remedy sees this, please push to get Ilka Villi as Alan Wake in whatever live adaptation comes from Annapurna, I don't doubt other actors could do the character justice, but Ilka is just there, he quite literally perfect for the role
It's my understanding that the plan is to make audiovisual works set in the Remedy Universe rather than just retreads of Alan Wake and Control and such (although that would also be cool; it'd let people who can't play games experience those stories), meaning Alan and Jesse themselves are not likely to be the leads. Unless Ilkka and Courtney don't want to be involved in these productions and stick to the games, it's still going to fucking hurt to see anyone other than them as Alan or Jesse. I'm... cautiously optimistic, still.

Once I understood how to properly navigate the map, I was locked in and absolutely hooked until I pushed thru to completion. The way the building gets so expansive caught me off gaurd and i was eager to explore every nook n cranny. What a RIDE man! 🔥🔥🔥🎮
Control has to be the biggest random discovery I had ever have in my life after my brother in law forgot an assassins creed disk at my house back in 2007. I bought Control on discount at the start of the pandemic just to have something to play and was totally hooked to the game and the story. I had no idea that The creators were the same as Alan Wake (a game I played when I was a teenager) so when I got the reference it blew my mind!
I loved Max Payne 1 + 2 and then fell out of touch with Remedy. Herald of Darkness actually got my attention so much I decided to play Alan Wake 1, which had been collecting dust in my Steam library. Then American Nightmare. Then Control. Then Quantum Break. Then Alan Wake 2. And I am so glad I did them in that order (even though I should have done QB before Control haha). Now I'm a massive fan. I finally bought D Rally on Steam this year after watching the cutscenes and realizing that it has deceptively ongoing influence in the series (You have been warned!)

I absolutely ADORED the narrative and universe of Control. The fact it was connected to Alan Wake blew my mind, and the whole AWE aspect just made everything click. It was one of the best games of that year, and the overarching universe/story is so damn cool. Can't wait for more with Control 2!!

Microsoft! Please please please sell the Quantum Break I.P. back to Remedy! They would clearly love to dip back into it, but seems they just aren't going to as long as you own it. I think we would all love to see that world fully folded into the Remedy Connected Universe without leaning on legally ambiguous nods and winks.

There are plenty of transmedia parallels to be found, but I feel like Sam finds a better, cohesive balance of the weirdness and themes. I've played nearly everything Remedy has put out and far less of Kojima's work, tbf.
I’ve played control so many times. The beauty of that game is that it’s almost “arcade” like, the pace is perfect if you just want to pick it up and do cool stuff.
This is why I own every Remedy game with the exception of the Series version of Control, but it's next on my list- just waiting for that version to go on sale again. I love remedy so much, I would honestly buy it full price if I could afford it just to support them further, but aside from being broke I've already played through Control and both DLCs three times on Xbox One. Really looking forward to the Max remakes and honestly hoping they connect them into Alan Wake and Control's crazy, beautiful universe.

I will always support remedy games, I have since the ps2 and will continue to purchase their projects because they are one of the few studios left that actually care and love what they do
No secrets, but it is something cool - Remedy's whiteboards and plot boards and such aren't CGI. They actually make them with real markers and sticky notes and then scan them. It's extremely cool that they go that extra mile.

Max payne 1 was brutal, real and genuine. I was too young to play it at the time but it opened my mind to how deep, dark and difficult games could be and made me hopeful that i could enjoy games as an adult when i grew up. And i can say now as an old man my younger self was right. I still enjoy gaming to this day. Max payne 3 was amazing as well. One of my favorite playthroughs of all time

I do hope they find a way to link max payne to the interconnected remedyverse. I mean they could say that max's ability to slow down time is a parautilitarian ability and have an extended ending for MP2 where max is confronted by the FBC about his abilities. or even more subtle things like being able to find alan wake's alex casey books in the game.

Yall missed quantum break. Ever since I played Alan wake I knew this dev had incredible potential. Quantum break was innovative, although being a short experience. Control was on my radar when Google itself won't tell you that a game like that exists. Remedy should get the recognition it deserves!
@haukikannel it was a Microsoft exclusive. ( ms owns it )It blended a live action show with the game. A unique experience but the game is just 8 hours long. But the shooting mechanics and gunplay were great. It ran on the first iteration of north light engine.

Remedy is a gem among game developers and truly make art. I have so much appreciation for them and hope they find overwhelming success.

I bought Alan Wake 2, and Control twice each, one for PS5 and one for PC. I really wish them success, they make the best games at the moment.
Look up how to hex edit the PC version to restore the PS4 content. It's really nice stuff and takes 5 minutes.

@haukikannel it was a Microsoft exclusive. ( ms owns it )It blended a live action show with the game. A unique experience but the game is just 8 hours long. But the shooting mechanics and gunplay were great. It ran on the first iteration of north light engine.
Yayy as a finnish it's always so nice to see a big videos about Remedy like this on IGN! Sam Lake is one of the most underrated big bosses in the world of video games and Remedy's games are so best Control and Alan Wake 1 & 2 defienitily 2 I have both as physical editions 1 on Xbox 360 and 2 on PS5 and can't wait i'm so excited for Max Payne remakes & Control 2! Control was one of my favourite games to play. I bought it cheap and played it with no expectations and boy was I blown away. It made me check for Remedy. Do I need to play Alan Wake 1 to play it’s sequel?
