Para - Reviews CDPR still does it DRM free though, they understand that the world will always have assholes and screwing your fans with strict security does nothing to solve the problem. It may have been pirated a lot but its overwhelming success is evident by this and other Witcher 3 trailers. The quality gains between each Witcher game are evident and the fans who purchased each game outnumber the pirates.
Horse racing looks way cooler in this trailer than it actually is in the game... Just running till your horse's stamina runs out and then blocking the other guy while it charges back...
Do you even race against more than one person in the final game? I haven't done the Skellige (pronounced skelliga) races yet, but it's always been just one dude at a time. And in one instance a dude who, after losing to him, would duplicate each time I retried the race. His horse(s) stayed in the game too, glitching out in the racetrack.
Wow, your system must be overheated to do that. Stop and let your console or PC rest. And yes, some races, the later ones, you have to go against 2 opponents.
Mundane05 The tracks in skellige are more people, but the the real thing is the tracks are a little harder. I actually failed a few times because of sudden turns where you have to actually stop galloping to not run into a bunch of fences and trees. Turns out if the computer gets X distance ahead the race immediately fails. It was alright. I liked the races overall but they did take a while to get challenging.
+altair91100 Try New Game +, limit yourself to one life per day, after you die you can continue the next day. The game feels a lot more realistic and you don't just try something to see if you die or not
Finally finished the game. Easily one of my top favorites of all time and definitely game of the year. Haven't played any of the Witcher games before and knew very little about the lore. Now I thirst for more! Fantastic job CDPR!
Enjoyed the game quite a lot as well, and after the story I thought I would be done but I am loving just exploring around. There's so many hidden places in the game
I never played Wither 1 or 2 but now after I finished Wild Hunt I'm playing the first one, I'll import my save to the second one and then to the last Witcher. That'll be my ultimate experience and I'll move on to other games. :D
***** yea I know but the added DLC is only worth like what another 30 hours ? the original witcher 3 is 200 hours (completing every single quest). I'd say with DLC and everything 300 hours is max.
Kent T Maybe it can be close to it with replay. I have spent 450h in one run doing and exploring everything, no fast travel, reading books, enjoying songs, views and all things they put so much effort into for fans. Now I'm playing it again with a change in the story.
Not gonna lie . The best part of the game was in Ker Mohren with the other witchers . Even when we got drunk i didnt do anything crazy cuz i was scared of Yen , cuz i tought that if she is angry no a$$ fo Geralt .
+WorkGalaxy47 I really meant it. I wonder if they changed the scene in the time between release of the game(because that trailer came out like a year before) and the time of this trailer or if they put Geralt in there to cover a possible spoiler. Also I just started the books and they are great if you like the game than you should read them.
urbium If by "throne" you mean being incredibly popular and defining the RPG genre for years since it was released (for better or for worse), then it most certainly is on the throne. Though I am of the opinion that judging a game based on popularity is not the best metric. By that logic, mmos and free to play games are the best games ever made, despite often severely lacking in gameplay depth and involving the most grinding of any video games I have ever seen in my life.
Can Toros Yeah. It defined the RPG because the majority of people and media that plays RPGs decided that it defined it. Definitions after all are arbitrary. Also, urbium , I'm not sure what you meant by "proper RPG". If you define an RPG as what it typically always has been defined as - a role-playing game where you play a character and progress that character through a world, it is definitely proper. It has leveling and a bunch of class progression, it has a central plot that you affect through your actions, and it allows you to play many roles. So, a role playing game. Also, popularity most certainly does not denote quality - but then Skyrim is not low quality by any RPG standard I've ever seen. Even if it was, to argue something as not proper or defining due to it being low quality would be similar to arguing that World of Warcraft does not define MMOs. It isn't important whether or not the core game is mediocre by genre standards (which themselves are poor for mmos), only whether or not people perceive it as good (IE, popularity). Now, if you want to argue Skyrim was over-rated, I can only agree, but to argue it wasn't a proper RPG or that it didn't define RPGs at the time it was released (or even now still) is to be at odds with reality itself. If any of you have particular reasons as to why I am wrong, I'm all ears (or eyes in this case), but honestly speaking two comments that respond to me but do not address any point I make won't get anyone far.
I've seen this trailer at least 20 times. Coming back to it again, after 6 years and I still think it's an amazing trailer (and amazing game, obviously).
0:30 Letho is hinted at :P I'm sure many people missed that out 0:40 This sadly wasn't in the game, you talk with the emperor in a private meeting :( 1:39 Yennifer's model is different
Random Netizen nah it was a pleasant surprise to encounter him in TW3 :) Didn't expect it. I actually hadn't completed TW2 beforehand so I didn't realize that he could live at the end, and that he's not all bad. So I was confused as to why he was all friendly with Geralt. Then I played through TW2 and it all made sense.
I feel immersed that's all that matters to me. Plus can't discount those gorgeous environments and weather systems. Have to agree with the other guy. At least as far as RPG's are concerned.
+Joseph Saade no you might think its now but when skyrim came out it was marvelous no game came close to it and if you compare then then keep the years between them in mind
That's ridiculous. Then I could easily say that Star Wars Galaxies was the 'best game ever' if you are going to take time, graphics, and such into the mix. There has been nothing like it before or amazingly since. However, this game (Witcher III) has got to be one of the only 'photo realistic' games I have ever played that functions well, has an amazing story and side stories that all work together, multiple endings, etc. This game is a unique experience and there has been nothing like it before. Sure there have been attempts, but nothing has actually accomplished it. Short version: Suspension of disbelief to be able to enjoy this game is not something you have to do, it just naturally happens from the opening scene as you are lost in the epic-ness of scenery and interactive content. On a side note, it is frustratingly entertaining how difficult it can be to click things sometimes. lol
+ARC clone trooper don't get me wrong skyrim is phenomenal in its world and felt epic with its dragon battles but the story wasn't there for me but in the witcher I was so invested in all characters and i played it 4 times and it just made me feel good and I admit it has been the only game to ever made me cry at the (spoiler) geralt and ciri waking up bit and it had gripping gameplay, amazing unique side quests , two amazing dlcs especially blood and wine which sets the bar for all dlc in games , and a unique mature vibe with a dark world with hope left in it but skyrim characters were not as good or its story but I will still play skyrim again as they are both some of my favourite game but the witcher has to take top spot. on my fifth play through trying to get ciri to come to my villa rather than triss or yen
At this moment, when I've finished "Blood and Wine", I just want to say thank you to the studio CD Project RED. It was the best RPG experience since the 2003, when I was playing the first KotOR. You are awesome.
You know, I would hate to see such a great actor to get type cast for the rest of his life but holy shit isn't Charles Dance awesome at playing pragmaticly evil fantasy rulers?
It doesn't matter if you play this on pc or console. What matters is the gameplay.Granted, the game will look better on PC, but does that mean the game automatically sucks if it's on console? No, it doesn't. This game will be amazing gameplay wise on all platforms
But if you had to choose between a 400$ PC ( 1080p 60fps same graphics as console or even higher ) or 400$ console ( Most games in 900p and always 30fps and restricted as fuck compared to PC ), what would you choose?
Has anyone noticed that on 1.18 of the trailer there is a bird on the top of the Novigrad house's roof like on the logo of CD Project RED? It's on the left bottom side.
"White Wolf, at last. I've come for her, of the prophecy. Every decision you make will bring devastation. Each choice will lead to a greater evil. " Fucking love that part. Great game.

0:29 If you look to your right, you can see a huge man resembling Letho from The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings I wonder how this story will play out with Letho on your side.....
Pierre Engell Yeah. I mean, he saved triss but you can't look past how many innocent people he killed. thats why I killed him. Perhaps your old game saves transfer to the witcher 3?
I bought Witcher 2 in 2012 not knowing anything about the game. It wasn't even an enhanced edition, yet. I played it like crazy and then, I've read all books, played the first game and later, read the last book, Season of Storms (or something like that). I quickly became a huge fan of Sapkowski's fantasy world and I can't wait to play Witcher 3 (legally bought, ofc) like there is no tomorrow.
***** I think MGSV is the biggest contender TW3 has to face. It's also coming out near the end of the year so it'll be fresher in memory, and it seems to be very ambitious, as well. (Still rooting for TW3 in the very-pointless title race, because I'm vain that way)
Eli Harel well, while they are both open world i don't think most people play both of them cause they are really freaking different.....i buy both tho :3
***** Well, I play both DA and The Witcher games ... and Elder Scrolls, too. They are all really different, yes, but all are amazing. The Witcher 3 will be the best, though. :) Now I just have to get a computer that's capable of running it - my current one isn't, sadly.
I have completed it at least 5 times along with its DLCs. It is one of a kind, and goes beyond any experience I've had with a video game, it is more than that...
My favourite game of all time. If you haven't purchased this, for whatever reason, then do so immediately. Especially now with the brilliant expansion pack and DLCs.
This is literally the only game you will ever need to play. It ruined gaming for me after this. I only play Civ 6 and Stardew Valley now. Nothing compares.
Holy shit did CD Projekt Red deliver with this game. And with literally 10 times less money and people than most AAA games. I really hope we see more expansions than just the two we're already getting because I'm in fucking love with this universe.
Great trailer, but to all the PC crowd yelling downgraded I never saw anything in the trailer that said this was actual gameplay. Looks more like pre-rendered target footage for what they were going for and honestly from the actual gameplay we've seen it does look amazing. Doesn't look as good as this, but then this was never actual gameplay.
Patrick Lauderdale It was actual gameplay... just freshened up and used for commercial 'DEMO" purposes only. This is what they show to get people excited, not what will run on the final system. All the volumetric smoke, and the special eye candy here was JUST for this trailer.
THE EMPEROR OF NILFGARD!!!! IS VOICED BY CHARLES DANCE!!! Awesome. For those who don't know how much of a badass the Emperor of Nilfgard is....His nickname is "The White Flame Dancing on the Graves of His Enemies." Nuff Said.
I didn't discover this game until 2019. I can only imagine what it would have been like to see this trailer in 2014, and not yet realize that the game would become a masterpiece.
just finished the story, took me 5-6 weeks and i can honestly say this is the best game ive ever played! Im actually depressed its all over, just want the story to go on and on! Would pay to wipe my memory just so i can do this story for the first time again
this isn't a game , it's a life experience

Yep I noticed that awhile back too wish they had those scenes of the other witchers they had in the beginning of this trailer
Geralt was also using the Steel sword instead of the Silver one (you can tell by the crossguard design).

If by "throne" you mean being incredibly popular and defining the RPG genre for years since it was released (for better or for worse), then it most certainly is on the throne.
Though I am of the opinion that judging a game based on popularity is not the best metric. By that logic, mmos and free to play games are the best games ever made, despite often severely lacking in gameplay depth and involving the most grinding of any video games I have ever seen in my life.
echomjp Well, given that Skyrim isn't even a proper RPG... But yes, of course, popularity rarely denotes quality.
echomjp Skyrim and RPG? hahahahahahahahahahaha. "Defining the RPG"? hahahhahahahahahahahhahhahahahaha.

Yeah.
+Random Netizen at first I thought it was Leo from the first game or coen from the books
Once upon a DirectX12
Ugh, even with the very most demanding reshades, LOD increases and texture mods, the game doesn't look anywhere near this good :-/.
It's still one of the best looking games ever made.
Karl Merchant lol. You're out of your mind. Character models and clothing/armor looks great, but everything else is sub-par at best.
I feel immersed that's all that matters to me. Plus can't discount those gorgeous environments and weather systems. Have to agree with the other guy. At least as far as RPG's are concerned.

At this moment, when I've finished "Blood and Wine", I just want to say thank you to the studio CD Project RED. It was the best RPG experience since the 2003, when I was playing the first KotOR. You are awesome.
Until playing TW3, KOTOR was the best RPG I played
Did I hear Tywin Lannister????
Yes you do
Indeed you do. Who else would be suited for the job of Emperor?
You know, I would hate to see such a great actor to get type cast for the rest of his life but holy shit isn't Charles Dance awesome at playing pragmaticly evil fantasy rulers?
Well you know, Emhyr is not the most evil of rulers, but yea, pragmatic and ambitous is a good description.
BurgundPL I'm not familiar with Witcher (I know what it's about but I've never read it) I just judged by the trailer.
Yes, yes he is.
I just wish I had a voice as badass as his!
Yeah but him wanting to bang denarys would be very off putting
It's 3 or more years that I rewatch this trailer over and over and it still gives me chills.

***** Console because all my friends play on consoles and that is why I play games. To have fun, not if my graphics are better than everyone else's.
ThatGuy15 That's not an objective argument. I have friends playing on PC because we have standards and because we enjoy the freedom.
***** Okay. I have friends who play consoles because we like to play on consoles. Your point?
I just finished it yesterday for the first time, what a masterpiece

Pierre Engell Yeah. I mean, he saved triss but you can't look past how many innocent people he killed. thats why I killed him. Perhaps your old game saves transfer to the witcher 3?
Plasmal Its been confirmed that saves will transfer, even system to system apparently.
Pierre Engell That's awesome.
***** Or it's Berengar :P Although he looks much bigger than Berengar
Came here after Witcher 4 announcement to remember this masterpiece of a trailer
God, why is the soundtrack SO EPIC!
The hype is affecting my mental health
Only 3 Days!!
Fuck school im gonna play this game the full night.
Only 5 Hours then it will be released!!!!
***** ouixlxl
+Chronologger hahahaha. Let it consume you, my friend.
I miss 2015 🥲
A return to here after another long night always makes me feel reborn
I bought Witcher 2 in 2012 not knowing anything about the game. It wasn't even an enhanced edition, yet. I played it like crazy and then, I've read all books, played the first game and later, read the last book, Season of Storms (or something like that). I quickly became a huge fan of Sapkowski's fantasy world and I can't wait to play Witcher 3 (legally bought, ofc) like there is no tomorrow.
these are the things that make this damn life worthwhile
@0:31 I just notice Letho is there!
It’s 2021 and I still can’t stop watching these epic trailers. Best game of all time.
Easily the best trailer in the history of trailers ever. so epic.
1:58 triss get banged with clothes on lol..
Maybe just zipped down ;)
She is not getting banged but she is getting eaten out lol.
Who is here after the netflix series?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) fuck off and let them enjoy it.
the series was shit.
Hansuld Sainkhuu how dare you, racist
@@suldee932 I know right, I mean it was mediocre for me but some scenes were absolute shit what a disgrace to the games and books
@@ouient 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hundreds of hours poured into this game. Soon 1000+. Playing Death March, again, and am Toussaint currently.
Never watched this trailer.
That shot to the bear did absolutely nothing XD
Eat your damned heart out, EVERY OTHER GAME OF 2015.
Looks great, doesn't it? My bet is that the biggest competition in 2015 will be between MGS and TW.
Silmarisi i thought we talk about metal gear and witcher :O
just finished the main story......my life feels empty.......
idk if you played blood and wine or hearts of stone but they're DEFINITELY worth it. The ending of blood and wine made me feel better about it ending.
Just finished a second time plus the two DLCs.
Blood and wine DLC is a whole game in itself with its huge map and story. Wonderful game.
2017 still watching this trailer... AWESOME
2021.
Still my favourite game.
Even tho i have the game i still love watching the trailer XD
currently working on a fanmade gameplay trailer
BTA Production Post it once you're done. I'd love to see it. I used to make them myself.
And we are in 2024, 10 years of greatness
I wish I could erase my memories so I can start this game again as newbie.
I know right...
I have completed it at least 5 times along with its DLCs. It is one of a kind, and goes beyond any experience I've had with a video game, it is more than that...
1:46 Geralt arriving in town, "Hmm I must kills these heretics xD"
1:59
Man I wish the encounter with the Crones would be set in this dark atmosphere like here.
My favourite game of all time. If you haven't purchased this, for whatever reason, then do so immediately. Especially now with the brilliant expansion pack and DLCs.
0:30 they’re what?

Voice of Emperor Emhyr is none other than the great Tywin Lanister!
1:39 OMG Jennefer looks like my sister at morning LOL
This is literally the only game you will ever need to play. It ruined gaming for me after this. I only play Civ 6 and Stardew Valley now. Nothing compares.
Wait wat?
Stardew is kiddish while civi 6 is turnbased and strategy game....
Why only these 2?
red dead redemption 2
TRy the mass effect trilogy. Same sense of completion and emersion
Bought this for 32 bucks. Cannot wait to play it. This may be my favorite video game trailer of all time.
Game of the Generation.
This is was my first ever RPG Game, and boy am I Proud that it was this one.. What an Experience it was...........
0:36 The cold shake
Jonathan Jones Hope an ENB comes out to make it look even better :D
Patrick Lauderdale still its very close to trailer, colors could be better but, game need so low power ....
Caa129 Well there is a mod to change the lightning. Which makes it like in earlier trailers if you like that more.
Patrick Lauderdale They were optimizing tis gane and thats what came out after :)
if only there's award for game of the decade
This game is just too good, the atmosphere, the world, the characters, the voice acting and the soundtrack is fucking amazing.
1:40 yen looked so different
THE EMPEROR OF NILFGARD!!!! IS VOICED BY CHARLES DANCE!!! Awesome.
For those who don't know how much of a badass the Emperor of Nilfgard is....His nickname is "The White Flame Dancing on the Graves of His Enemies." Nuff Said.
I didn't discover this game until 2019. I can only imagine what it would have been like to see this trailer in 2014, and not yet realize that the game would become a masterpiece.
Whose here in 2019?
The music still gives me goosebumbs
0:30 I can't do this anymore
Wish the slide animation at 1:56 made it to full release, would've been another nice movement mechanic!
It was a cutscene, it was part of the trailer for the statuette of the collector's edition.
Best videogame trailer of all time. Always keep coming back to it
just finished the story, took me 5-6 weeks and i can honestly say this is the best game ive ever played! Im actually depressed its all over, just want the story to go on and on! Would pay to wipe my memory just so i can do this story for the first time again
Those who didn't play Witcher 1 and 2 are missing an incredibly great history
Still get goosebumps 5 years later.
