Such beauty, so much lossed, but so much gained. FREEDOM!!!! Thanks to all that has served in all the wars. I think after seeing this, I will go give my husband a kiss, hug & a BIG THANK YOU for his service in the USMC. He was just leaving the USMC w/a honorable discharge when we met. I'm proud to say I'm married to a USMC. Just fantastic views. Thank you for sharing, God bless & be safe y'all, Chris from Missouri
I was the Number 2 jumper at frame 11:23 honoring those that fought in WW2 as an RCPT-USA jumper. This video captures the emotion of this day and magnitude of Normandy. Well done and Thank you. FYI, that's Placid Lassie lead aircraft for this jump and the #2 C47 is "That's all Brother" the actual lead aircraft on the night of June 5, 1944. D-Day Doll is close behind.
Your visual Escape channel is incredible. All your video are so moving. Thanks for sharing this one. I know you had a rough time getting it uploaded. So glad you stuck to it. Life changing.
Here's some of the footage we captured a year ago today. It was the 75th anniversary of D-Day. One of the most humbling life changing experiences we've had. We filmed a documentary that premiered at Sundance this year, you can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/XUuL5ksxPT0/видео.html For us a big part of this channel is taking all the footage that doesn't make the cut, but still has the power to educate, empower, and show people all the amazing places in the world. Thank you everyone who has subscribed and turned on the bell notification, it goes such a long ways.
5:27 it looks like it has rolling shutter effect? maybe im wrong? man every compositions seems as you put perfect still into motion!!! loving every pieces~
My grandfather was part of the 1st phase invasion on Omaha Beach and was shot in the leg when they were caught by surprise walking down one of the roads you show here that are lined with the hedgerows. I've never seen what they (mom and aunt) were talking about until today when I saw them on this video. I wish I knew more details of where exactly but he wouldn't talk about it. His story died when he did. I never knew why he walked with a limp until my late teens. Then I found out years later the bullet was still in his leg. He wouldn't talk about that day with anyone, ever. I can only imagine how hard it was living with that reminder day in and day out. Seeing where he was in detail like this and knowing so many men, many who came to be the only family he's ever known to that point, lost their life in this place is so surreal. I can imagine what it was like for you. I wish he would have told me his story but I'm glad he's at peace now with all of his family he lost that day.
I really loved the Video :D My 3-year-old Sister especially loved the shots flying over the poppy field! I also saw that you where finally able to reach the watchtime you needed to be able to monetise the channel!! Also, fun fact: D-Day, so June 6th is my Birthday :D
@@CrystalClearNM We were just at the drop zone where they would be landing, filmed just looking straight up. These airplanes where the same ones from WW2, and the parachutes where the same types, so it was all low altitude flying, with a static line, so they were a lot close to the ground then typical skydivers would ever be.
@@VisualEscape Hmm, it looks like the camera is moving along with them but maybe it's just panning...regardless it's a very cool shot...the whole thing is just surreal...thanks again.
I watched your documentary based on these footages. It was amazing. But a small complain I have to make again. Can't seem to find the names of the music tracks.
We will be updating the music on all these videos within the next few weeks. You can then go back and will have all these updated, I give you my word :) - Devin
@@VisualEscape One more thing... Please don't reply to "Wanna be friends" comments. It's kind of malware. I watched a video about it on RUclips. It's not safe.
Such an underrated channel.
Please keep going, it's amazing!

Its really hard to think those men were thinking that night before shipping out too Normandy France.
I can't even imagine, breaks my heart thinking of it.
It's 76th anniversary.
