    I'm still learning to play guitar, so I might not be familiar with all the bolts and nuts of the guitar world but I've seen great reviews about this particular model.
    As a beginner I'd love to invest in a good guitar so once I have some proficiency and improve my skills that same guitar works well on my never-ending learning journey (or at least I like to think that haha).
    Your review has helped reinforce my decision and I believe this is an excellent choice overall.
    Great content by the way, I'll keep checking your other videos on the channel.
    Thanks! 🤘🏼

    Took all of 30 seconds to understand the "Chilled". This was really great. So glad to find a guitar review/demo that's presented in a conversational but professional manner without 8,000,000 jump cuts of a bodybuilder screaming at me between 12 clips of 8,642 NPS palm-muted drop Q tuning followed by a discussion of the "tone" we heard. Thorough and informative with just the right amount of subjective seasoning - and level-headed, non-exaggerated subjectivity, which is key. You seem like the kind of guy it'd be fun to talk fiddles with. Well done man!

    Much appreciate the well thought out perspective on what is a great model for ESP/LTD.
    The parent company that owns ESP/LTD/Schecter does a great job providing fantastic instruments that cover any music style and budget.
    And much of the high end specs trickle down to other offerings.
    I’m a died in the wool Gibson lover and I’ve been so often disappointed w/their guitars.
    You really have to search hard to find a keeper w/Gibson and you always pay a premium.
    However, I’ve had a number of ESPs, LTDs, and even some E-IIs. Oddly enough, I’ve had more issues w/the E-IIs vs LTDs. My ESPs have all been virtually flawless.
    Kudos to ESP/LTD/Schecter for just knocking it out of the park each year!
    I love that they’re offering ss frets and ebony boards with quality pups and hardware.
    If there’s a sticking point (quite literally), it’s the molded nuts as you mentioned.
    However, they are pricey to install on the more budget minded guitars and I think they expect many players will replace them anyway as needed.
    Gibson uses quality materials across the board generally but the prices are bloated and not always aligned w/quality.
    Other than that, the LTD guitars are 98% near flawless . There are exceptions however but that’s what return policies are for.
    Ever receive a Gibson w/multiple flaws due to poor qc/workmanship? I have done this about 4 times in the last 3 years. It’s a crusher after being so pumped awaiting the new guitar only to be disappointed.
    The bottom line is this…If budget is a consideration and you don’t want to invest lots of time in a challenging search for a “players” guitar most likely right out of the box/off the hook, then shop LTD and feel good about that choice. 🤘🏻

    I own this guitar. Mine was made in Korea. Several things: while I was expecting a huge volume drop switching to single coil I didn’t experience one. I tried a few times focusing on it too. What I did notice was the energy drop from humbucker to single coil, perhaps that’s what was noticed here by the presenter. The nut swap is a cheap fix if it needs it however there are different plastics with different qualities. I think this guitar is awesome even forgetting the price.!

    • @ElevatedLevetator
      @ElevatedLevetator 2 месяца назад

      Single coils are suppused to be LOUDER than humbuckers. Coil splitting is not the same as a single coil in any way. It cant be, because of how the pickup is cinstructed as a bucket. The magnet and the wiring (coil) around it is different

    From what I have seen, you get a lot for what you pay with the 1000 Series LTD's. They definitely punch beyond their weight. Especially the EC-1000's which the guitarist of a well-established heavy metal band whom I'm friends with has recorded the rhythm parts with one on their upcoming album.

      Are these guitars more about metal than Gibson's?
      I know they are the same shape but they seem like completely different instruments
      LTD seems to be metal and very hard rock
      While Gibson seem to be more towards blues and softer rock
      But I've never owned either
      I don't suppose you can answer can you?
      I might spend the extra on a Gibson just to be sure it's not just for shredding fast

    • @vinaymulukutla358
      @vinaymulukutla358 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@daz97 Gibson Les Pauls can be used for metal. They are very versatile instruments. They have humbuckers so you’ll get a high output signal thus a very powerful sound upon driving it through heavy distortion. Gibsons are iconic guitars so they are very desirable. ESP EC-1000’s and E-II Eclipses which are based on the Les Paul shape often have active humbuckers as stock pickups (mainly EMG’s or Fishmans) so you’ll get an even more powerful sound, so I would imagine they are probably more associated with metal but I think both instruments are fine for metal. Not everyone wants active hardware in their guitars so really it’s up to you whether you want to splash out and get a Les Paul or an ESP LTD EC-1000 (which is considerably cheaper than a Gibson Les Paul but still a very solid instrument)
      I would advise you to go to any guitar store in your area that carries both ESP’s and Gibsons and try them out to decide for yourself. A good guitar is a very serious investment so you must know what is the best one for you.

    I have the same model, it is a great guitar.
    Mine is made in Korea and doesn't have stainless steel frets because it is 2020 production year.
    Interesting thing - Korean made have symmetrical top and Indonesians seem to have single piece of veneer on the top. I didn't like how most of Indonesia made ones look from all the pictures over the Internet, but yours looks really nice.
    I also checked pickup cavities and it seem to don't have actual maple/poplar top, just a veneer over mahogany. And this part is a bit tricky with ESP/LTDs - I have ESP Standard Horizons NT and FR. And NT has a real maple top (possibly just plain maple) with flamed veneer on it over mahogany back while FR has alder body with quilted made veneer, no real top. And for both cases specs say "maple top".

      In my experience the Black Heavens are a little on the dry side, and very articulate. They're not super high output and not nearly as compressed sounding as the M6 set. Note separation under high gain is fantastic. Very tight and aggressive. For what it's worth I absolutely adore those pickups.

      @@greekfreak1980 None of the nice looking Schecters have SS frets. Only the gooner ones have SS. Maybe a nitpick here but I don't like the way they tape off the satin/gloss on the necks. You just can't have a contiguous piece be two different finishes, that's tasteless and also a waste of time. It's cheaper to do and makes more sense to satinize the entire back of the guitar. Instead of putting in the time to do all that cute crap on the Solo-II custom, which lacks SS frets, they could spend a few more minutes crowing SS frets on that one. If that was 999 with SS, nothing in the same class could touch it. It looks gorgeous, classic and mean at the same time. But they instead put money into the finishing and using real mother-of-pearl inlays, which doesn't matter.

    Regarding the nut and tuning stability... ANY nut (or bridge saddle!) can "catch" the string. Not a big deal. Just make it a habit to always bend the string hard when you're done turning the peg. 🤷
    One finger under the string near the bridge, one finger on the string near the nut, then push the string under the "nut finger" towards you, pull the "bridge finger" towards you, so that the entire string from nut to bridge is slightly offset towards you. If the string was snagged in the nut or the bridge saddle then this will get rid of it.
    I have no idea how people can call themselves guitarists but then "tune" their guitars without doing this, and complain about "tuning stability"... just start doing this, and you'll never have to worry about guitars coming "un-tuned" again, at least not from snagged strings contracting.

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  10 месяцев назад

      This is good advice but I'm not convinced it would improve the fundamental issue. Whilst I don't do this I do always stretch the strings then ensure the string is sat in the nut correctly by tuning then doing a huge bend on the 3rd and 5th fret then re-tuning after. IMO it's no coincidence that any guitar I have tuning stability issues with always has a plastic nut... I have tried everything including Nut Sauce etc and it never fully cures it.

    My 2020 LTD '87 Eclipse NT in pearl white was built Dec. of '19 in Indonesia. I believe it's out of the first batch to hit the states. It has a generic graphite impregnated nut. After resetting it and filing the string slots to my liking I've had no problems. It was cockeyed and had debris lodged under it from the factory. It's my belief the material they're made of is less important than how they're set and shaped. Almost any guitar under $1200 bucks is gonna need some TLC to get 100% ready for action.

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  Год назад

      Fair comments, however I think my disdain for plastic nuts comes from being aware just how small the price difference is between a great one and a not so great. It's the last place to save money on a guitar IMO

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews Absolutely, there's no reason to skimp on something that costs soo little. My other LTD(te1000 black blast)is a bit newer and costed more, yet came with a tiny yellow plastic nut. I have a few Graphtech nuts in my parts stash and when I get the time it's getting one. Fantastic review as always, and coincidentally I also just picked up an ESP LTD… the Arrow-1000 in violet andromeda. I finally “settled” on that one after GAS’ing over a million different Vs and my god, what an absolutely incredible guitar. I know you’re still on the hunt for another V after the slime green Jackson let you down, and while this one is quite pricey, I can’t recommend it enough, just based on looks alone. ESP does not mess around!

    In hi gain it is not enough clear espetially in mix.

    The ESP Eclipse and their LTD version, is basically a Les Paul but done right.
    Yes, I said that.
    They pretty much fixed all the bad things about a Les Paul ( neck heel, headstock design etc. ) .
    P.S. I 100% agree on the nut, it´s the same with PRS SE models. I don´t get why these companies can`t manage to put a proper Graphtech TUSQ nut on these mid budget models, I mean it´s not like these things are super expensive or something.

      Its a total lottery with plastic nuts mate. The one on this guitar was done well and stayed in tune fairly well, but then I've just reviewed a 1000$ Solar last week that would not stay in tune AT ALL due to them now switching to PPS (Plastic) nuts.

    At this price point? This guitar sells for about $1200 U.S. dollars. This guitar with better woods and craftsmanship and electronics but the same paint job is available at $2500. The guitar at $2500 is also available in left handed I believe.

    Welll.... I had this one but Korean 2021 and the only bad thing in my opinion is the pickups Sentient and Pegasus. They are worst of all the sets that I've ever had. SD '59 and SD JB is much better, but more better are Gibson's 490s and 498s.

    • @greekfreak1980
      @greekfreak1980 Год назад

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews No, Edwards is a "sub-brand" of ESP.
      They´re between the LTD and E-II lines, Made in Japan and usually hard to get in Europe.
      They used to have a series of Les Paul "replicas", more close to a classic Les Paul.
      A buddy of mine has the white LP Custom replica from Edwards, came stock with Duncan JB/59 set, bone nut & Grover locking tuners. That guitar puts the "authentic" thing to shame.
      Sadly, they recently discontinued the entire L/P Edwards Gibson replicas line, they used to make also Explorer, Flying V & SG clones. I guess, Gibson´s lawyers threatened them again with lawsuits.
      P.S. If you want to spend some serious money on MIJ ESP L/P clones, check out the "Navigator" series which is made by ESP´s custom shop. Expensive af, but they make any USA Gibson look like a cheap knock-off.
