Outstanding seminar! You have a knack with teaching. I learned a few things I'll incorporate this year's spawn. Keep it coming!!! You earned a thumbs up and a subscriber. Looking forward to many more videos.
New subscriber from the Lake Ouachita area. I appreciate your straightforward presentation and simple "go/no go" tips and advice. And don't worry about the microphone issue that another commenter mentioned. I could hear you just fine. I think some people forget how to operate the volume feature on their device. Anyway, your video just happened to show up in my feed under "Bass fishing" and the title caught my eye because it mentioned "simple". I am a huge fan of "simple". 👍🇺🇸
Allot of good info! This is exactly what I’m trying to learn, where they spawn so I can figure out where they came from and where they’re going. I fish Hartwell here in SC. But something’s just not clicking with me. So I struggle to find them or even where to start my mornings. Also, there’s a storm that (you probably getting/got the same one) is blowing from the West today and tomorrow, but the weather for the lake says the wind is NE, then NNE, and finally ENE when I go out Sunday. Doesn’t make sense to me, but still south banks? God Bless!
Hey kidiraq, thanks for watching and commenting! First let me say go and watch my how to fish blue back herring lakes I will link it down below, I struggled on Blue Back Herring Lakes for about seven years until I finally figured it out. So to be clear not every southern bank is a spawn ground it depends on the layout of the lake. For instance if the southern bank has no protection (wind, boat traffic, flowing water etc.) they may spawn on the northern bank adjacent if it is protected. This is what was tricky to me I grew up being told that bass spawn on northern banks because it warms quicker as I got older and purchased my own boat I realized they would spawn on the south also where sunlight could penetrate to incubate the eggs especially if it was well protected. I also noticed spotted bass spawning in 55-60 degree water temps so I had to assume that water temperature is not a huge factor on when the fish spawn. It is a mixture of moon phases, new moons and full moons also how stable the water level is if the water is constantly going up and down they cannot successfully hatch their eggs because of the fluctuation of water level. Now with this being said if you’re struggling on Hartwell it could be the misunderstanding of how Blue Backs move, number one they are saltwater fish with a saltwater attitude they prefer to be out in the open on big water (main lake) they will move in the creeks to spawn but not always very far back and a spotted bass will spawn in up to 15ft of water if the water is clear enough. So give this a shot the next time you go out if you’re typically sitting on a point fishing it back off of it 40 yards and fish it from a distance don’t necessarily look at the bank even in the creeks look at your maps and treat the contours as if that is the bank see if that helps. Ether way I hope that helps and I will drop the link to my other video watch it and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! Thanks again go wear em out!
I don't know why bed fishing bothers me so much. I do fish during the spawn but not for bed fish although I don't know 100 percent that my lure didn't pull one off a bed. It's probably not worth worrying about I guess. Besides that this is a really good video and I appreciate your time
Hey Steve thanks for watching and commenting! I understand completely even before my eyesight had gotten bad I still did not like to bed fish. Although I can give you some good news about bed fishing, if you were to catch one of bed and release her in the same area 99% of the time they go right back to their bed. Thank you for the kind words!
Absolutely it does, I didn’t mention this in the video but I just didn’t think about it. Ether case a Bass will spawn on a North Bank, South, East or West. What dictates the location is recent weather patterns which in turn goes hand in hand with wind conditions. I love it when it is windy for fishing conditions but like in the video what has happening is the wind has been consistently blasting that northern bank for weeks which creates an unstable environment for the Bass to hatch her offspring successfully. Such as muddy grainy water, current etc. On the flip side if it was the southern bank getting this same treatment you would do the same to the northern banks. Wherever you are fishing in the country pay attention this time of year to where storms come in, where I live we consistently get storms out of the west moving east with the layout of the lake and cove entrances it can help me determine what area I need to fish, based on consistent wind direction from storms. As for sunlight when it comes to the eggs hatching is not a huge deal but hard bottom is if they lay in a soft area the eggs can sink into the muck ground and will not hatch. Summary: pay close attention to protected areas if you notice that the area you’re fishing gets a lot of wind and your looking for spawning bass look to the areas that is not getting beat by the wind and look for hard bottom a bass will not lay in a soft bottom area. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I do use a high end wireless mic but unfortunately at times like any other electronic devices it will cut out from time to time and other times I do not have it plugged in correctly 😂 😬 again thank you for watching I’m always trying to improve the quality of my videos for the viewers, feedback definitely helps! 👍

Does the sun shining on the northern banks play into the spawn?
Absolutely it does, I didn’t mention this in the video but I just didn’t think about it.
