It takes practice to perfect using livescope. My buddy just got a setup done on his pontoon boat and we tried using it for one day. So many more days needed lol

This is great advice. Not everyone has the time to experiment. I have learned A LOT using it to catch hybrid stripers and sandbass in the winter. When you catch 100+ fish in a day, you can learn so much about fish behavior as well as how the sonar works.

I had the honor to know the Tech’s dad, John Jones! He helped a buddy by staying way late after closing to keep him in a big tournament.
I need a professional installer and may just call this young man. He has his father’s passion and knowledge.
I got the TM installed here at home it. Need to replace my Lowrance HDS with the 3 units and two brackets I just purchased

I always hear everyone say keep it above them, I have actually caught most of my larger crappie as the jig drops. They come off a tree from above and nail it, I love seeing it on LS 👍
I do keep it above them when I see them separate from cover.

I bass fish every weekend but started to scope in the fall when crappie fishing is good and when I got my AT so I went crappie fishing first and it does help sooooo much this is spot on 100% true info from Todd. Crappie dont spook as easy and easier to catch at close distance and also they don't always run when u throw at them. Take this info and use it

Great video. No LS is not as easy as some of the RUclipsrs make it look. Not all waters do the Bass hang out and react like theirs. I've learned more about my LS by fishing ponds for Crappie perch and sunfish. Saw fish on bottom or brush and learned casting distance and accuracy. Then use this knowledge and experience where the bigger bass are. As Todd said, a lot of trash fish (mainly White Perch) all over the place. No shad so not a lot of suspended Bass and I usually go for the ones on the bottom

This is so good. I learned so much more the day I took my 9yo kid out just to teach him to throw a baitcaster. Lol The few casts I made was showing him how. I stayed out away from everything so he could just sling it accuracy be damned. Lol I don’t know why I let him talk me into paying to enter a little derby, but I did😂😂. I thought I would just chase some schools of white bass and maybe some little spots too. I spent 4 hours playing with the graph, picking backlashes and pointing saying throw over there😂. Little bit caught almost 17lbs of spotted bass and couldn’t even cast. 😂😂 crappie were key too. I didn’t know what I was seeing until we snagged a couple but there were schools of juvenile crappies 4 inches or even smaller all over the place in a couple of creeks. The bigger bass he caught were always around them.
Here’s something that you might not believe either, but I can even tell the difference in the bait because of what I learned from scoping crappie sometimes. It’s easy to see balls of threadfin or herring everywhere, but some of that bait you’re seeing close to the bottom might actually be schools of spot tails or emerald shiners instead. Crappie and spotted bass both love eating those things. Spots will lock onto them sometimes, and I know everyone is talking about them feeding up and keeping your bait above the right now, but if they’re feeding on spot tails, that’s one time they will definitely feed down on bait and use the bottom to pin them against. You can actually take something like an alewife rig and catch them if you want to know for sure that’s what you’re seeing.

Find some smaller stationary things and practice scanning back and forth until you can learn how to get the hardest return in the middle of your screen. Practice scanning on obvious trash fish and adjusting your unit too. I learned a lot catching sauger a couple of times. I figured it out even more taking the kids and chasing schools of white bass and little spots exactly like you described doing with crappie. I finally took my youngest just to teach him how to use a baitcaster. I didn’t cast except to show him. I stayed away from everything so he could just sling it. I picked backlashes, scanned and pointed where I wanted him to throw. Sometimes he got close.lol… He eventually caught 16lbs of spots and beat some straight sticks in a local derb😂😂. He learned a lot but I learned way more that day without catching anything…

Crappies don't stand a chance with livescope. I use livescope more for structure and to see what side to fish a structure. If you see a bait ball of shad. Even when there's no active feeding. There usually is predator fish (bass, cat, etc) on the bottom below. I enjoy livescope just to watch and learn fish mood. Especially seeing a group of bluegill, you can always find the younger fish chasing each other. It's life.

After you spend thousands of dollars on electronics and still can't catch em, don't worry, now all you need is thousands of dollars worth of new baits and tackle that are designed just for FFS. Hilarious! The only ones getting rich these days are the electronics companies who have succeeded at using the pro aglers as their whores to make the regular people think they need all this crap to catch fish. Kinda like those people who just golf for fun, spend thousands on clubs and still can't keep the ball on the fairway.

What do you mean get to the point😂😂😂😂 should the video just be the title. That’s the point, the video EXPLAINS the point. This isn’t a multiple choice test where there is an answer like….432 is the right answer. 🤦‍♂️
