  • It's frightening how much "advice" is on the internet these days with very little actual application of that regurgitated information. In today's video I'll show you how to ACTUALLY read your side imaging, then apply different baits/techniques with forward facing sonar to catch more and bigger bass.

    Love this type of video!🐐 Id like to see one of you taking the time to graph and find offshore fish on a new lake, walking us through it the whole time. Showing us what areas you take time to idle on and whether you take a zig zag route approach or whatever you do. And whether you take time and focus on one creek the whole time or jump around.

    Great video and information. I am now completely retired and it is time for me to get back on the water . I am looking at everything and learning the new technology... It is funny though. Back when I had my boat... yes to many years.. decades..ago. People [the old school fishermen lol] would laugh at us with our fancy electronic stuff. It was old Hummingbird radar... and we had a deal you dropped over into the water and it told you the color to use. Water temperature and ph. It was sophisticated stuff lol.. But it actually worked to a point. No matter what it is fun.

    Great video, I think you and fish the moment are two of the RUclipsrs who are better about showing their electronics screens.
    I think one of the biggest factors guys leave off with offshore videos is the amount of time idling. That, and finding the juice only to not have it work out.
    Another factor guys leave off is fishing rocks, especially for smallmouth, and not seeing the actual bass at all.

    The thing id like to see that I struggle with is how after you find them, and mark them how you go about turning around on them to fish for them. I will find fish on SI and DI mark them and go to turn the boat around to fish them and it’s like I marked the wrong spot or something. Any advice on that would be great! Thanks for all you do Ben!

    • @Natec_photo
      @Natec_photo Год назад +2

      Something that I really liked that he did in this video is not only drop one waypoint but he dropped four waypoints in a box and then in that box is the fish. So when you do that at the console, turn around to drop your trolling motor in, you look at the graph on the front of the boat (which if it is networked with your console unit you’ll see those waypoints) then you start to scan with livescope in that box area. I’ll definitely be using that tip for sure. I always just drop one point and sometimes it’s hard to get back to exactly what you saw on side imaging. 👍🏼

    No one ever does videos of graphing for offshore fish in northern states that would be pretty sweet. We don’t really have brush piles all over like out there here in NY. A video on what they set up on and and where to look to find them would be awesome. When people think of NY they only think of smallmouth but there’s plenty of largemouth in most lakes around here.

      @@jasoneastwood1191 I think the biggest factor is just time on the livescope. I know I’m certainly not there yet, but when I watch guys who really know what they are doing it’s next level. Just by the shape and behavior of the return, they can tell approximately what the size of the fish is.

      Yeah man I made a few videos this last winter recording my livescope and bass following my glides. It takes some time to get a proper judgement of size of those scope fish. Once they start getting 2 "segments" to their bodies, they're usually in that 4-5+ range. My boy Jack York calls em "tail waggers" haha
