    Don't forget to use the combine function in the end so you have a single manifold body. That's important for certain slicers as well as editing it in other modeling software.

      Forgot to include that. i had recorded this tutorial 3 times. first time OBS died and didn't notice. second time mic died and didn't notice. 3rd time i missed the combine function hehe

    Joe, you make it look extremely easy. I literally spent 8 hours to make an external HDD holder to mount my disks behind my computer case using fan holes.

    Joe - Thanks for the inspiration! Just finished a rebuild on my Anycubic Kossel which included adding a nice beefy part cooling fan. This is a great test to see how well I can print and not have things come out all furry.

    That lampshade project was ingenious. Easy to modify to another shape. Staying inside here, but one of my other hobbies is amateur radio so have something to pass the time. Take care.

    Looks good! Little bit sanding helps for a better finish. In your case no or a lot less infill needed.

    Looks great! Not sure who is bashing you (you definitely aren't a noob anymore as far as I can tell), but they clearly don't understand that the learning and trial process is one of the best parts of 3D printing. Can't wait to see what you do next!

      I’m always learning, and many who are experts in fusion 360 are more keen on displaying their dominance than helping out constructively. Either way I try to learn new things all the time and share it all :)

    Great video for design in fusion, but here is some advice.. 1. Use the other side of caliper when you measure inner dimensions, 2. You don't need infill, instead add 1or2 walls in print, 3. Fan or heat gun will help you to get rid of string ...

    Looks neat, personally I'd of put some fabric around the outside though, light enough to see the design through the light but heavy enough to block out light 😊

    Hello Joe, very nice design. Unfortunately, I am unable to stay home during these times as I am needed at work. The company I work for has been hard at work developing and manufacturing a molecular test to detect the COVID-19 at hospitals and medical universities. Last week we were given the Emergency User Authorization from the FDA to produce this test and delivered 150,000 tests and scaling up the capacity to be able to produce one million tests per week. Since I work in maintenance, we have been working everyday to maintain the facilities to keep everything running smoothly. All of us here are doing everything we can to stay healthy to keep working. Stay safe, and keep making those videos.

    Hey Joe - awesome project!! Big Thumbs Up! :-) Also, a quick side note/question: remember way back when you did your phenomenal mural on your wall and you had all of us help with each piece, I think you mentioned that you were going to make a video of superimposing all the numbers of the pieces over top of the hanging mural so we could all see what piece was ours. Did I miss that or did you not make it yet? Just curious, :-) If you did make that and I missed it, which vid was it? Anyway, thanks huge for all the good work and advice you've been giving over the years!! Kevin

      I used PLA because the heat emitted by the LED lamp was not high enough to effect it

      I use stands settings usually. most of the time though i reduce the temperature of the filament which makes it easier

    Do you put it on thingiverse? I’ve been playing with a lampshade like that for a couple of weeks and no matter what I do it looks like shit when it’s done. Everything else I print looks fine. Would like to test with your model if you don’t mind 😉
