Niice starter on lighting up your 3D prints. Yes, please do more electronics videos, I love seeing creative ways to use 3D prints and getting ideas for cool projects.
I would love to see more electronics and 3d printing videos! There's so many possibilities for cheap fun diy, and soldering doesn't have to be too hard once you learn. ;)
Thanks! What about "dipping" diodes with other electronics *inside* print? Like, pausing printing, putting electronics inside, and then resuming printing. I've seen this before, looks awesome, but needs lots of preparing, for sure!
Loved the video. It's great to have 3d printing propaganda that we can use to get people excited about the possibilities. The production value in yours are top notch. Excellent!
Awesome!👍🏽But: Where is the "Recording Quiet Please" model coming from? Couldn't find it neither on Thingiverse nor is it part of the weekly 3D prints. Any pointers *greatly* appreciated! Cheers, Axel
Would it be possible for an electrical novice to power an LED strip directly from the printer? So to eliminate work piece/enclosure as the printer powers on with no extra power cables leaving enclosure (nice clean look)
would the led light strips be a good choice or should I buy diodes instead for a ring design idea for example I would like to make a Red Lantern ring that glows in the middle from a 3D ring out the way i'd print it would be have the logo in transparent filament and the rest in red, but i don't know how to solder, could you maybe please make a video on how to make a glowing red lantern ring with a small led light please
This is amazing! I’m just a little worried by the fact that the idler screw in the timelapses is so far through the bolt... mine is barely in. I will have to look into that...
I just need my Prusa! lol but seriously, good video. Yes, more please. I bought LED's before my printer died. I'll have to print that button holder when I get my Mk3s. April 1st can't come soon enough!
Some of them, yes. But by now it's more of a set decoration. We first made this set with the spools for the MMU2 video. And we liked it so much, we just left it like this :)
Excellent video! It would be great if you could do a few small projects end to end so your viewers can see the whole process. I’d like to attach a small led strip to my 3d printer so I can light up the work in progress. I’d like it to turn on/off with the same switch I use to turn the printer on, for instance. Thanks!
I too would like to know how I could power LED strip from the printer itself so as you say, on and off with 1 switch. And how to do with little to no electrical experience. I mean we could always attach led strip to enclosure or print a frame like in video and just use a multi socket to plug printer and usb power supply into 1 mains socket, but I want less cables for neater look.
Thank you very much .. Nice video :-) I have question .. How can I get the the lightbulbs to have the same size as the base of the lamp .. The size of base of the lamp maybe different that what we download from the internet The base of the lamp is I mean the base which you insert (revolve) the lamp in .. I printed two lightbulbs but base in my country does not match the light bulb size .. Can someone help plz :-)
I've linked one in the article that's in the video description. It's nothing super fancy, but works well :) Btw if you buy 24V LED strip, you can power it directly from the MK3s PSU
Sorry it took so long! cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/vornoi-triangles-lamp-with-2-switchable-shades I posted it as my first non-free model, considering the amount of work I spent on it. I'll understand if you'll decide not to buy it.
PETG is pretty good at withstanding higher temps and is really is to print with. But with strong LEDs you should really consider an aluminum profile, it acts as a passive cooler ;)
Thx for that Video i found my way so far to custom Nano Leafs that are cheap to print and programmed with arduino Electronics and are open Source. (Prusa shared this Project on Twitter around Christmas/New Year) It is cooled Moodlight. I thought it fit perfect in this Topic here. btw 😉✌
How about an easy to follow LED clock. I've seen a couple of videos about them but they never go into detail about exactly how to wire everything up and how to attach an arduino etc.
And Prusa should start kits for such products for home diy or atleast tieup with someones for more better options by that way all in one options for diy projects can be purchased from one place to make weekend time more meaningful and creative.
Very nice inspirations. It would be quiet impossible to get a new "old school" bulb in Germany unless you know a dealer somewhere in the subway station ;) You'll rather find a blue metallic fuse cabinet like yours.
Yeah, they're banned pretty much all over the world. Although for a moment, here in Czech rep. they sold it as "heating element" to get around the ban :D
Sorry it took a while, but I finally polished the design and uploaded it here: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/vornoi-triangles-lamp-with-2-switchable-shades I posted it as my first non-free model, considering the amount of work I spent on it. But I'll understand if you'll decide not to buy it.
Great Video - yes please - more videos on light decor 😊
Yes more please! Nicely placed ElectroBOOM footage too!
Making a macro / shortcut keyboard (as you Show in the end of your Video) is maybe interessierting 😍
This, please.
Would be awesome....
Haha glad you guys noticed it, adding it to the Todo list :)
@@Prusa3D plzz move it a bit forward
@@Prusa3D Todo list seems long!

Yes, great ideas! Please keep them coming... with or without soldering.
Awesome, I gotta say I really wouldn't mind seeing more about electrics and 3D printing. Great job guys!! :)
YEEEES PLEASE!!! I saw the models in the website and I was hoping for some tutorials!! Thanks always 🙏🏼
please more electronic and 3d-Print!!! I already printed your MediaControl volume knob and it's great.
Thanks! What about "dipping" diodes with other electronics *inside* print? Like, pausing printing, putting electronics inside, and then resuming printing.
I've seen this before, looks awesome, but needs lots of preparing, for sure!
Wouldn't LED's make more sense? standard rectifier diodes are just solid state devices, and should be, if anything, cooled, not embedded into plastic.
@@zaprodk of course i meant diodes=leds
LEDs are Light Emitting Diodes, so technically both are correct. :)
These videos are FANTASTIC! I'd love to see more home decor and electronics/robotics videos!
Yes more videos with 3D printing and electronics!
what if u want to add lights with resin prints ? like for a figure diorama
Yes, absolutely! I'd still love more videos on electronics and printing!
yes please more videos--- especially 3dprinting and electronics... this one was great!
Fab video thankyou. Would love to see more videos with electronic projects.
That nighstand is beautiful i wanna make one!!!
More video tutorials on this please , looks super fun !
Awesome video and topic! Yes, more please! Can't wait for my mk3s kit to arrive!
More please, Found the files to this video, awesome work guys
very good idea! please show us ways to use PauseAtZ for completely enclosing the electronics in a piece!
I would love more 3D printing project videos!!,
Yes! More electronics videos please! Maybe with Raspberry PI family?
More please! With solar power plus night time sensor for outdoor illumination.
More please - no issues with soldering
More video's is always cool. I would like to see some video's on do and don't practices when starting to design
Good idea, 3D printing does have some specifics when it comes to design (e.g. chamfer > filler)
Great video, Joe. Yes, please show more uses combining 3d printing and electronics.

Some cool stuff here. For sure, make more videos with rgb/led bulbs and strips. :)
You don`t have to ask, of course we want more!
Yes more videos please!
what is the light on 00:19.? yes please more videos like this
Something you could make reasonably easily with a 3D printer and an individually addressable LED strip
Looks like some kind of really cool looking clock 🤔
Is there any models for the arch? Looks amazing!
Yes more videos on lighting!!
Do you have a link to the printed battery holder?

So to eliminate work piece/enclosure as the printer powers on with no extra power cables leaving enclosure (nice clean look)
Id assume you could tap a few wires and just split it to the leds with the correct voltage or step down converter thing.

If you solder wires to the exposed contacts, you can still use that piece of strip :) Or you can extend another strip with this one.
