Short, succinct and informative for someone just starting out! What most of us want is to be able to just start creating and this is a great tool to get that going.
@JohnWayne uhh if you press the funky button the pattern thing appears, which lets you add sounds and stuff. like garage band, there is a seperate tutorial for using and creating melodies.
Despite this being one years old now, thank you! I aspire to become a Game Audio Designer (Worked in Cubase before), and FL Studios is so complicated when you don't know what to do or where to start. This was a very informative, short yet concise video, and I felt like I learned a lot. Thank you!
Fantastic tutorial. Every other tutorial I have seen until now was just painful filling the time with lots of information that quite simply as someone new to the software I have no context for and so was meaningless. Your quick and clear explanations kept things moving at a perfect pace while leaving it to us to decide when to pause and jot down a useful shortcut or tip. This is how a tutorial should look like.
@@wreckgotit I've been using FL for a few weeks now and I am getting used to it, thanks! I'd say Waveform is a very easy and free to use DAW to get started with, it was easier for me, moving on to FL after learning the basics on waveform
@JORDANWTF i can't figure out how to to get my line device, and midi interface, working together as one--with zero latency on playback. Separating each source, sounds like a dream.
@@JORDANWTF Honestly this video pushed me to actually give it a try again and I feel like I've finally caught a grip. Hopefully I'll be able to make some stuff soon!

oh my fucking god, im autistic and have a hard time learning and this video made it SO MUCH EASYER AND LESS OVERWHELMING!! Ive been using free programs and I really want to get fl becuase of the features it offers, and now I dont have to stress out when I test it! Thank you!! :)
Ok how to put it in dark mode. I've found that black often help focus my eyes so i dont lose interest and when you're blindly stomping these new grounds, finding motivation is hard.
I really appreciate that you took the time to make this even though your health was not a peek performance, hope you're doing better now and god bless you
Fine and all, but I wanna know about the relation between the rack, the tracks, the patterns and the playlist. I come from a tracker program called Buzz. Theres a machine editor, much like the instrument rack, except you also do the effects routing there. and each machine has its own patterns, made in the pattern editor. You cannot make a melody on an instruments pattern with another instrument. and lastly you have the sequencer. This is where every instrument and effect you have made a pattern for gets its own lane. Much like the playlist. The thing I struggle with is, I try to assign each track in the playlist to individual instruments, but it seems like it is more oriented towards individual patterns than instruments since each pattern can have multiple instruments in it? Whats the correlation here, or whats the most efficient way to think of it in terms of laying a track out?
I used thus app a long long time ago back in 2005 and 2006 on a computer. Can u use this on a phone too? Cause it's available to purchase on my app store but idk if I'd be able to do everything on there like on a PC. Can anyone answer this?
so i want to get into making music with a daw, and i chose fl studio since its free. I downloaded it, but whenever i open fl studio, nothing shows up theres just the fruit background any help?
Dude, I subbed and Liked after the intro. I wise man knows when he's listening to a wise man or a fool. Thanks for this, I just bought FL Producer Edition. STOKED!
i need a bit of help, how do you even import your kits into the stu. ive been trying for literal hours now and it keeps popping up as like a thing that i cant use
open fl, go to the browser on the left hand side & right click any of the folders & click open. it should open a new folder up for you, make sure you drag the kit in that folder or somewhere accessible. lmk if that helped
Background music was a little off putting especially when I got my FLS open and you are chnging and choping yours and then I got MI5 or 6 interfering on both my 5g and wireless. True that, I live in a border town in Norhern Ireland so they listen in from time to time. Recently set up a little honey trap and sure enough Scotland Yard contacted me the next day. Anyway, yeah... there's a lot going on in your vid except for context. Just a random snippet 'of to'. Like page 18 of a user manual with 1200 pages.
In my FL, like if I'm placing hi-hats in the piano roll, it doesn't place on the middle of the line like it does in your video, how do you make it do that automatically
Theres a button that looks like a magnet at the top left of ur piano roll. Make sure its on an even number fraction (1/2 beat, 1/4 beat, 1/6 beat, etc). If that doesnt fix it then you can hold alt/option to place the note in the middle
Can you make more beginner videos like developing drum bounce and having a feel for where sounds are suppose to go ? I’m 21 and I’m not getting any younger I feel like I’m wasting time … please reply holy
