- Finally, Lance gets to tow! Adam and I set off for one night for a little adventure in 'Lance' the HJ47 (a really old farm truck), towing a brand new Conqueror UEV-490 along about 20kms of dirt road.
We've camped here numerous times over then years and, honestly, this is one of our most favourite, free bush camps in New South Wales. Approximately a 30 minute drive from the coast, set in the Kerewong State Forest - it's Swans Crossing.
A former dairy and beef property for many years, if you're wanting a piqtuseqeue grassy camp site with with a stunning freshwater creek to have a swim in, this it one of our ultimate favs!

Good to see that you turned the air con on before the wife got into the truck
😜
Lovely ep and spots and set up Guys. Our old 2H use to pull like a train never burnt oil. Good old Trayback Tojo's Bouncing Boobs and Ball Sacks for years Haha.
Cheers Craig was a beauty.
Love you guys, so good to come inside tonight to find a Smart Touring RUclips up. Awesome location, Steve said he had a ❤ on Swans Crossing, so similar in where we like to camp & explore. Good on Nan for looking after the girls, more alone time for you 2. Megs we love sriracha too and had a little giggle with how hot you like it. 🔥🔥🔥 looking forward to your next adventure.
Cheers guys, thanks for taking the time to watch.
Hi Guy's love our part of the country.Coopernook forest Hq is also free.
Awesome old rig and the Taj Mahal good set up. Haven’t been there yet only down the road from us
Thanks for tuning in 🤙🏻
Great spot!
Awesome guys!! Just looked it up and counted around 7 state forest in that region. Definitely will be checking these spots out. Cheers 🤙🏻
Great episode. Good to see that BBQ plate in use. It'll clean up ok.
Beautifully presented video of the destinations and the old 47 great watch.
Thanks mate
Loved the vid, awesome to see the old 80 series being used stock and not being transplanted with other motors in it. Also, that barbie is pretty cool, I never noticed that in your vids before, cheers.
Thanks for watching.
One of the more interesting videos on the net ,love it.
One of the better comments we have received. Thanks mate.
What an awesome little trek. 🙂
Great video guys , I’ve got that on my list of places, love the fact you took the 47 , I went away with my wife in our 47 Ute , swag , fridge box of food , she swore never again , didn’t want to drive it , but admitted after 3 weeks she liked it .
Great fun .
Bloody great old rigs mate. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Nice work mate....even passed Lance earlier this arvo up at Kew....🤟
Great episode. Must check that spot out.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for tuning in!
Love it mate!
Thanks mate.
I’m glad you put the comment out there about looking after the campgrounds etc. More RUclipsrs need to put the message out as unfortunately places are getting trashed. I asked one big RUclipsr to do a message after one place was left filthy and got told to go clean it up myself and that people who do this don’t have social media etc
Yeah everyone needs to take responsibility I agree. Charging people to go the the tip and not supplying enough bins also encourages people to do the wrong thing.
@@SmartTouringSystems this particular photo I showed a RUclipsr wasn’t really one you take to the tip it involved people’s toileting habits plus some beer bottles
Worrigee State Forrest. Very close to Nowra and Jervis Bay. But don’t tel anybody. lol 😆
I'll check it out. Thanks for tuning in.
👍 I bet the 79 is full luxurious next to that beast!
Yeah mate the 79 feels like a limo after Lance. Thanks for watching.
Polish that BBQ Plate Adam, 😁
I’m onto it 😝
Great spot, hey were did you get those rectangle dinner plates? Cheers.
Thanks for watching mate. The plates come with the UEV-490. Bloody handy for sitting around the fire.
@@SmartTouringSystems since ive already got a caravan buying a UEV490 for those plates just wouldnt go down well with the wife lol. They do look great for sitting down on your lap for eating. Cheers
Hi mate, finally a decent video showing us what it's like to enjoy the 490 haha... quick question, how long does it take to set up all the walls for your awnings? or at least the kitchen side? is it a bit of mucking around or is it pretty easy. Also, the awning tie off points is there nothing to the offside of the van in line like on the roof to create direct tension not the offset downward tension you guys use on the toe bar?
Hi Pete. The walls are straight forward and labelled so you know where which one goes. I would say 10minutes to setup one side would cover it.
We use the downward angle as it creates a takedown overnight as well as holding the awning taught. Thanks for tuning in mate.
@@SmartTouringSystems how do you find storing all those walls as well? Does it take up stacks of room?
@@pete3103 Yeah mate they all will fit under the bed. But to be honest we only take the kitchen side with us. Everyone camps a bit differently.
Thanks for the replies mate great help, struggle watching your channel i almost buy a new 79 everytime i watch it 🤣
@@pete3103 cheers mate. The next few eps are gonna be hard for you then. 😂 79s are a real love hate thing, but I’m addicted.
Cracking spot. We love fry pan but putting up with the party animals can be annoying.
Yeah the partying and permanents can be an issue sometimes.
Hi, when you put the shower head to rear shower tent do you have temp control or is that done via taps on the side?
Thanks for tuning in. The temp control is done on the side of the van, but the shower head has an on off tap on it. The shower is positioned on the side of the van like that as you can set that side awning up with walls and use it as a massive ensuite.
Thanks. So in short, you cannot control temp once in shower tent
@@simonjuniper4003 no mate.
The ole boy is struggling you need to see Mr Landcruiser for a turbo, 5 speed, lockers, diff breathers, with what money 💰? Nah leave the ole boy as is it's the charm these ole tractors have that make it original only once
Cheers for watching and taking the time to comment. Yeah I'm trying not to muck around with it to much.
