    Adam & Megan, we came across your YT planning recently for a Fraser trip later in the year, and have been binge watching them as a family the last couple of weeks. Have to say fantastic job, editing, background music & content are great while being down to earth👌. We are looking for a van to do a big lap (as doing it in our Patriot X1 just isn’t appealing) & you’ve almost convinced us on a Titanium hardcore for our family. And Adam your opinions on the landcruiser 70 series are spot on, I’ve worked 25 years in the resources sector before taking up a job with a conservation NGO to manage a station in outback SA- done over a million & half Kay’s in the bloody things & owned 5 cruisers myself (including a HJ47) Every station were I live has 2-3 of them & I can go into Broken hill & get shocks, brake pads etc straight of the shelf & every mechanic in town has worked on one. Yep they have lots of short comings & overpriced but there are heaps of options out there for anyone who doesn’t want one. Keep up the good work, look forward to more vids & you guys definitely aren’t the YT wankers (there’s plenty of them😂)

    Great Review Guys, Ive just completed a 4 month shakedown 15,000km outback trip in my 490 and its been awesome, I'm up at Conqueror Brisbane atm getting some minor repairs done , then i'm off again for another 12months , Victoria Highlands is where my next adventure starts , plus a quick trip through the outback again on my way down.

    Hot plates and camp ovens just throw into the fire and fill or cover with hot coals after use and the fire cleans them. Rinse off.

    great point with inverters i have no idea why people "need" inverters these days you can charge and operate everything you need from 12V, i guess a coffee machine or microwave....but then really????? are you actually "camping" or living like at home in the bush...great review, probably the best out there on the 490. im still on the fence about buying one, but it does seem they have addressed quite a few issues with earlier versions (composite roof now to reduce heat soak etc)

    Unused bbq plates look out of place on the back of a well used 490. The plate is a decent stainless so will clean up ok. Can't wait to see it in use.

    Best video of the 390🎉 Love your other trip videos with it a lot.
    How can I get one in Europe?

    • @Noob1471
      @Noob1471 3 месяца назад +1

      Price in Euros is 52,000, to this spec + diesel heater, european legal brake controller, hitch and legal electric brakes (only ones currently) but minus redarc as that would be an extra. I have just started to import these to the UK. I am just working on all the remaining european certifications to make these legal across Europe. If you would like to see one in the flesh Ill be showcasting at most land rover and overland shows in UK as well as a few this summer in france / netherlands / germany.

    Just wondering could you please show a picture of what the interior looks like with the front bed not made up, can you use that area for seat if just a couples camper. Thanks Geoff

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Geoff. No sorry mate you cannot use the front bed area as a bench when not set up, you can however use the rear section as seating though.

    Nice review. I hope they go full RedArc soon. Any roof options?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching. Yeah the Redarc gear is awesome, and the guys at Conqueror have plans to go full Redarc in the future as we have been also giving them this feedback. Sorry mate but what do you mean with roof options.

      @@SmartTouringSystems ya should wrote it better -- accessories for the roof? Solar/AC/rack/moonroof? lol

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah no dramas, we should have made the walk through better😂
      The latest UEV-490 has a composite panel roof, 200w solar and a skylight.

    does the awning (which are great idea being predominantly pole free) pool water? they look like they sag a fair bit in the middle? most awnings do but does it have tie off points in the middle sections so you can peg out the pooling spots?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah mate it does pool water a little, if let loose so the middle sags down the water runs off.

    Which do you prefer te UEV-490 490 or UEV 14 and why ?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  6 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a hard one to answer. The 490 is awesome to tow, great for the harder to reach places and the feel of camping more is nice.
      The 14 however would be easier to live with on longer journeys and more touring style trips, where you are stopping nearly every night.
