Thanks for another fantastic video albeit I bet you wished some sections could have been less exciting. I think you are both amazing and appreciate being able to enjoy your journey. The scenery is amazing and as we have travelled in such areas it brings back great memories. Your photography is wonderful. Looking forward to further episodes.
I was hoping to see how you get the sticky mud off from the last adventure? I am sure that did not hose off easily! Thank your family for sharing your great country!
Sorry mate. It’s hard to document everything. We have young kids and plus we are travelling and living. Sometimes we just miss things or are to busy to film them. But yes. Mud come out of the truck for a good couple of days after.
As soon as you go over 25mph (40km/h) the mud flies off the tyres, the rest falls off as it dries (it shrinks as it dries) though you can end up with little dried balls rattling around in hollow sections for months.
This is absolutely the coolest rig on the planet! I have never seen a camp trailer on air ride. I have never seen any air ride vehicle that has the ability to control ride height from one side vs the other. I will say that the hitch set up is the oddest thing I have ever seen. Have you ever considered installing winches? It looks like you could use them from time to time. Also, watching you get unstuck, I have wondered if you have any kind of lockers in your diffs front and rear? I have a limited slip locker in the rear of my Chevy SUV and it makes a HUGE difference in slippery conditions. Years ago, I had one in the rear diff of my Semi truck(Prime Mover) and it was a game changer in winter weather.
Epic stuff family! 27:00 is why our offroad caravans in Sarff Effrieka have that back corner cut off at at least 35 to 45deg for better departure angle. I really believe, along with steerable undercart, that that could be the best mod you could do on that van.
Id also plate the underside with some 8mm steel from behind the wheels to the back, and mount all the rackage on the back higher, or elsewhere, then you can happily just drag its arse over anything.
@@maarten_notjustagrip the chassis rails did the job this time but I agree, some plating would probably be good. And move the spare wheel out of the way.
@@alanhat5252 I must respectfully disagree about the chassis rails. Without them being "bridged", they just sit either side of whatever protrusion you're hanging up on. If the whole rear end was a full width skid plate, it would help a lot. That caravan has a dismal departure angle.
