Im a music video director / producer. Although im from Spain and I dont even come close to working with A-list artists like you mentioned, I do know a thing or two about music video production. I dont think theyre dead, I just believe people have stopped watching the videos ONLY on youtube. Short form content has really scattered the attention from the artists official youtube channel, and making short promos for tik tok and instagram reels has really become as important as the music video itself. You can have a 600k music video on youtube but get like 19 million views on tik tok if someone decided to kickstart a trend. I dont really think the views from tik tok equate to youtube, since most people just watch the video for like 5 seconds and keep scrolling, but even if 1/3 of people bother to pay attention its still a good majority, enough to make sales on merch / venues, thus make a large profit, as much as you would if you made a succesfull music video like back in 2016, even more, if were being fair. Most people dont wanna admit it, but if youre into trap music, most of your listeners are 15, and kids nowadays dont really watch that much long form content, they watch popular trends on tik tok, and thats really about it. Like you mentioned, videos are not worse than before, its just that attention is just scattered on short form content. In production, we even prioritize what the short form promotional video would be OVER the actual music video, because of the amount of sales we can make if we plug merch and stuff.
For me, it’s the ads on RUclips. If I want to watch a music video, it now comes with an extra minute of ads. I’ll put up with it for longer video essays but not when I just wanted to listen to a song.
Ok so I'll start writing my comment at 3:00, as an artist I figured out that music video cuts should carry out something different audio and video wise and that's what I'm currently trying to do. An example of what I'm saying that pops in my mind is the difference between Caleborate - 4 William video on youtube and the song on spotify with the added vocal solo at the end. I sometimes prefer listening to the youtube cut and when I'm in the mood I like the audio one. Ok onto 4:20, yes you are right. Shorts/TikToks really took over because of the reasons you mentioned. But when you look at an artist like Ren who's music videos carry out a really super artistic visuals (Money Game Pt 3 / Hi Ren / The Tale of Jenny, Screech & Violet), you'll notice that if the video quality and directing is designed to keep the attention of the viewer (Any Mr Beast video will give you a clear demonstration of what I'm saying), a music video will really pull up your stats as an artist. I just think that the bar for music video is now higher than ever and you gotta meet the standard if you wanna join the game yk... 5:40 it is true that artists like Conor has gained traction through tiktoks, but when I scroll through platforms like spotify, I notice artists that I've never heard of in my life gaining 400K + monthly listeners with no marketing effort, so it really up to the music in first place. Look at how NF blew up, I have not yet seen NF posting anything promotional and he still pulls numbers like Kendric and Cole (Maybe a little less). 8:00 the dip in numbers isn't due to the fall off of music videos but rather because there's a lot of suppliers in comparison to what the consumers are likely to check. Take for example the premise of 100K song released a day, majority of these songs are in the English language because the consumer base of English are most likely to consume through platforms like spotify which benefits artists financially. There are 4 Billion users on the internet and where I come from (Syira) and the middle east in general, isn't yet on spotify and even if they were there's no content directed to them, our artists (the ones who speak our language; Arabic) are still uploading to youtube which doesn't really help you to keep you career going as an artist. Now take what I've said and apply it to Japan, African countries, eastern European countries and so on and so forth.. shortly put, too much music for too little audience (574 million users on spotify atm) so the consumer gets lost when he finds out that there are 50 artists releasing the songs that he likes and end up consuming from the one that appealed the most through short form content and that has the most relevancy. 9:00 I agree dear Sir. 10:10 you get it!! unlike my fellow artists. 11:00 been fearing this moment ever since I started making music 3 and a half years ago, I should really practice performing outside of my kitchen, haha. Good video keep it up, it'll blow, so will your channel
Thanks for the comment I’m happy to start a discussion! I like a lot of your points it’s very true that music videos have to be more unique and provide an extra layer to what the original audio portrays. I think NF somewhat brands himself through his music videos because he has a very clear aesthetic and he mainly focuses on his music videos to build his imaging. I also completely agree about the large mass of songs being released on a daily basis. The adoption of streaming and more songs being accessible makes it hard to keep up with fewer acts cause there is so much more to discover. I appreciate it and I hope your music thrives!
1. Most MVs especially Western MVs have extremely dark and/or degenerate imagery that people don't want to see. The world is dark af and society is burning literally no one wants to see this evil ass imagery or hear these insane lyrics. 2. More people are finally realizing that basically every celebrity is trash and go out of their way, whether consciously or not, to SEPARATE the song from the artists face, not rush to put the 2 together. 3. Song quality as well as length has dramatically dropped. Half the time you barely mess with the song if at all never mind caring about the visual for it.
Yes music videos aren't so popular anymore... I've made a music video for each song on my latest album. Despite the low view count, the process of making a music video can be stupid fun. It's like making a small movie!
I love MV but the amount of ad is killing my enthusiasm of watching them on repeat. Some ads are longer than the actual MV. I put my favorite MVs on my playlist and play it on a loop on the tv then I will be shock that a K-PoP MV is playing. Turns out it’s just an ad.
I think the most important part of this video is the end where you tell people to keep making music videos. I still see lots of small/medium artists doing it and its a wonderful artform / way to promote yourself as an artist. Great video btw
I appreciate you listening to the end and pointing that out. A lot of people didn’t make it far enough to see that. Guess that’s my fault not holding onto their attention, but thanks so much for the kind words!
@onqueueisgood Ehh like you said ppl are losing their attention lol. And I think the ending was well worth it cause tbh I was gonna argue that music videos ate still valid but wanted to make sure I heard your whole story first and I'm really glad I did.
Thank you for making this! I have been a "numbers person" my whole life and a "view counts" person since 2011, and this has been bothering me for at least two years. In 2015 and 2016, I was in 12th grade about to enter college when that wave of extremely popular music videos happened. Adele's "Hello" got 27.7 million views in its first 24 hours, and even two months later, it was STILL averaging over 12 million/day. Looking at that page in the Wayback Machine, I see that this video had 803 million views by 02:00, 25 December 2015. That's 803 million views in 63 days. Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space", both from 2014, both have well over 3 billion views to date. Justin Bieber has three videos from 2015 (his "Purpose" era) that exceed one billion views ("Love Yourself" with 1.7B, "What Do You Mean" with 2.2B, and "Sorry" with 3.7B). When those same artists make music videos now, they get nowhere near those numbers. For Justin Bieber, let's look at his 2020 and 2021 videos: neither "Lonely" nor "Anyone" have reached 200 million, and "Ghost", while it did much better, still has only 348 million. Of the videos released in 2023, Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" was one of the FEW videos (maybe even the only video) that has reached 700 million. Thank you for providing your insight as to why music videos are being viewed much less than they were before. Like I said, I had been wondering about this strange phenomenon for at least the last two years. For another perspective that confirms this, Wikipedia maintains a page titled "List of most-viewed RUclips videos", which shows the top 30 most viewed videos. As of March 2024, no video on that list is newer than June 25, 2018, which was over 5 1/2 years ago! I am starting to feel like "Baby Shark" will ALWAYS be the most viewed video. I can imagine living to the year 2300, being over 300 years old, and STILL seeing "Baby Shark" at the #1 spot on that list with TRILLIONS (maybe even quadrillions) of views with no other video coming close to it in views. Some videos have promising starts. For example, two years ago around this time, on March 31, 2022, at 7:00 pm EDT, Harry Styles released the video for "As It Was." Within four days (96 hours), it had 35 million views. Sadly, the video didn't maintain its initial rate. Its current view count (701 million) is very respectable, but if you do the math, had it continued growing at 8.8 million views/day like it did when it was new, it would have reached its current view count by mid-June 2022. Today, it would have had over 6.2 billion views. "Baby Shark" currently has nearly 70% more views than the next "closest" video, "Despacito" (14.2 B vs. 8.4B).
Thank you so much for this comment! Some people have questioned my examples because of how long ago some videos came out, but you explained it exactly. They at least had hundreds of millions within months of it releasing. I’m glad you enjoyed the video I can relate to being a numbers and views kid since late middle school early high school.
Yep i feel the same as the rest of these comments, your video/editing quality is extremely professional, and your dialog/topic is interesting and well spoken. Keep going u 100% have what it takes to be a big ass 1mil subs youtube channel, even with a few hundred subs ur videos are already better than tons of channels bigger than you. Keep pushing!
The golden era was 1998 - 2004. Special effects and CGI were everywhere as the novelty and videos had fun themes and plots. The early 2000s genre variety made it possible to give identity to each genre and therefore had more visual investment.
I think it’s more because Spotify has exploded in popularity since the 2016 glory days of music vids. A lot of people back then would have used RUclips as a way to listen to music around the house. Now, they just use Spotify (or equivalent service)
Great video my guy. I think a lot of us have thought about this at one point or another but it's actually great to see it translated in a structured format
For me it was the adverts. In 2016 you would get 1 advert every 10 songs. But a few years later you get 2 adverts at the beginning and end of each video. It's just unbearable. I don't use TikTok, but I don't use RUclips for music either. Another thing which destroyed music on RUclips is they changed their algorithm. It used to be fantastic in the mid-10's. You could just choose a random song and leave it on autoplay and you would hear new similar songs, future hit songs, older songs you forgot, etc, and you would like almost all of them. Then one day the algorithm changed and now it seems to just get the 10 most recent songs you listened to and puts them on loop. Again, it's unbearable, and not fun.
1:02 I’ve attached a bunch of songs to dbz amv’s. Sometimes it can be random rap music, other times the AMV’s actually make sense, like this one dbz AMV of Centuries from Fallout Boy, that featured numerous clips of Goku’s bloodline (from Bardock, Goku to teen Gohan) fighting against foes. So now I can’t listen to songs like that without attaching it to Gohan fighting Bojack.
Some points why MVs are died - short video rise - more artists in the market, so the audience spread out - youtube in general less interesting to younger audience
glad i found this while scrolling on youtube & i just subbed! looking forward to more helpful videos and you getting 1K soon! as an independent music artist that still values music videos to further tell my story on a deeper level and showcase my visual skills and movie inspirations as i build with my team of friends aspiring to have creative careers, i believe that music videos will help solidify my brand as an artist and make me stand out more long term even though its less views the people that find my bingeable catalog of music and bingeable catalog of visuals on youtube can help feed my new and current and old fans for years - with gratitude, LaynoProd 👨🏽🎨🙏🏽💪🏽
Thanks for this. I noticed these trends especially with Adele and Katy Perry. No one’s hitting 1B views on a single vid anymore

first off: great video! seems like we all in the comment section thought that u have huge channel hahaa. and i like your take on the shift of music videos and that short form obviously dominates the music industry rn. would love to hear what you think the most important things are for an artist and where you you think this shift will lead us in 2024 and 2025 when it comes to music videos, content, platforms etc. sending you much love and looking forward to seeing more videos from you!
Agree with a lot of the points you are making, I think it's also overall a matter of attention real estate. Because sound is such a fundamental part of tik tok short form video and ig reels, people are getting their cup filled when it comes to music-with-a-video-accompaniment on those platforms, and they don't feel the need to get the longform (music videos) version as much anymore
I would imagine AMV of my OCs towards any song that I would listen to. If the imagination mixed with the song is good enough, I would animate it :) You're definitely not the only one lol. Also great video! :D
Great Video. Music videos aren’t getting as many views as they used to. But I still find myself when a new artist drops. Having a music video makes me way more excited to experience the moment. I also appreciate the twenty one pilots, Paramore, and Aries references. Great music taste!
a lot of the views went to watch kpop videos, with meticulous production and choreography and editing, they realise the dancing part and visuals are crazy important over there in Korea
Also though with the advent tik tok, the music landscape is SO saturated with thousands of songs being uploaded and shared everyday by independent artists. so overall, the attention is spread across so many different artists and sounds as well, there is less of a "1% dominance" of super famous artists that everyone talks about
i had the idea of a music video for my song “come on home to me” where i ran into the version of myself from another previous music video. and i made it. released last week. and no matter how much music videos die out i still wanna make them for my own artistic pleasure
I’m surprised that you have Less than 200 subscribers as of writing this. This video has the same effort as the other videos I’ve seen from RUclipsrs with at least 2 to 3K subs. Keep it up!
as an artist I always make mental music videos in my head of animations with my silly characters working on two amvs right now for my main oc (they're a sociopathic Tamagotchi with anger issues)
Can't wait to say 'I've been here since the beginning' when ur at like a mil subs or something. Seriously such an engaging and high quality video!! Please keep it up :))
We call "short-form" videos time-efficient but I just can't agree with that. They're biscuits, snacks, you name it. It's probably a personal thing but I have yet to see a short (non-meme) video being able to display a 1/10th of the nuance of a longer video. They don't feed your brain like a bowl of rice would, they just feed on it by being addicting. If artists stop making full-length MVs because TikTok is so much more profitable, they're just becoming corpo: obsessed for the return on investment, not the art of it. Also, comment for the algorithm. Keep it up.
Such a sick video man, I am an artist as well and from my success, I have not blown up over music videos but instead content, short form to be exact. Music videos just aren't necessary anymore, love the video man subbed to you and wish u the best
I think that one of the last songs which truly blew up on RUclips was "Dance Monkey" and the reason for that is because it was a huge global hit and on a global level people still prefer listening to music on RUclips than on streaming services, which are so predominant in the US. So it really depends whether a song is only marketed in the US or also across the globe. This is also the reason why Latin music has always made enormous numbers on RUclips and is still doing.
Great quality, surprised how few subscribers you have! I was watching the music video for First Person Shooter by Drake and realized how few views it had, which then led to me thinking about how few views MVs are generally getting nowadays and how I myself watch them less too, so I searched youtube for the decline of music videos and found your video.
When you listen to a whole lot of underground metal bands like myself, you understand that numbers is not the point. It's not about the money, it's about sending a message
You just figuring this out now?! I grew up on MTV as a kid from day one then VH1, BET/BET on Jazz, now I've been a pro musician since 1996. The music video died in 2000/2001.
Just parroting what others have said, I would definitely look at KPop. A lot of KPop stans have noticed how KPop is almost skewing the perception of what I “successful” reception is to a music video. You see these artists getting 100M views within a month (especially BTS, Blackpink, Stray Kids, NewJeans, (G)I-DLE, Aespa, IVE, Le Sserafim, and sometimes Seventeen, Twice, NCT, Ateez, Itzy, TXT, Enhypen, Treasure, etc.) It’s a strange phenomenon to me how so many of the most watched music videos are in the multi-billion view range. But KPop only has three artists that have crossed this threshold (PSY, BTS, Blackpink). So, the genre kept being eclipsed by the rest of the international industry. But now, KPop music videos tend to dominate their western counterparts in terms of views. I’m a little surprised to see this decline in views given that RUclips is probably the easiest platform to access. Not everyone uses Spotify/Apple Music or other streaming platforms. So, even just out of curiosity to hear the song or to check out the artist, it’s strange to see just a universally accessible place to freely check out the artists falling to the way side. But a lot of the more popular songs from 2023 seem to be the ones that were trending on TikTok, shorts, reels, stories, etc. So, I guess that’s how a majority of people are finding their music these days.
Music videos have waxed and waned over the years. This isn’t the first ‘death’ of music videos- so many music video producers companies went out of business 2007,8. Then it came roaring back in the mid 2010s. Who know what new platforms and tastes will come in the future?
Ive notice that too. Remenber the crazinest of the fandom braging about "a view record in the first 24hs" such a cringe. Now i think most of them are fake view. And paid promotion. Ive been no the cinema and they play music videos from Ariana Grande,TS,BTS and many more.
I still and always will enjoy watching the music videos. It gives me something to look at while I enjoy the song. As a musician myself, I know that these artist and video editors put so much time in the making some of these music videos. So I feel like I should give them credit and at least watch their video, and see their interpretation of how they think the video should be. Then I can listen to the song later without the music video, and either imagine the music video in my head, or imagine my own music video or amv in my head.
I think another problem is that now more people have a streaming subscription. If I am paying monthly for Spotify, I'd rather listen to a song there than watch the music video for free on RUclips.
haven't finished the video yet (so forgive me if you address this) but while this is very true for the western music landscape, it is very much the opposite for other markets like the korean world. kpop music videos are only getting better and better, a lot of them with cool storylines and/or symbolism that adds to the artistic value of the song... or it's just really really cool and high effort which is also cool lol. i recommend trying to check out stray kids for those crazy cool videos (specifically their title tracks like 's-class' and 'god's menu') or newjeans (specifically 'cool with you' and 'ditto') if you wanna see what i'm talking about! anywhos, very nice video mate. honestly just missing that tiny little bit of polish but overall insanely cool. keep it up!
I have actually come across newjeans before and have definitely noticed how the K-pop market endulges in music videos more. You’re absolutely right. I could’ve touched on that for sure but I guess I had a narrow head pointing towards just the western mainstream. Thank you for the feedback!
the digital monetization era is killing movies, games, music, and creativity.

@@onqueueisgood thanks homieee 🖤🔥 I hope your channel do as well
This was an awesome video bro keep going. Couldn't believe you only had 58 subs! You deserve wayy more. Keep going!
Thank you so much, man! Absolutely will do!
I understood your message a 100%, I ❤ it! Thanks for the guidance. We feel more empowered than ever!
That’s amazing!
Damn, I have a music video comin out this week!😩
Perhaps this will help me finally make the jump to shortform content.
Nah you gotta keep it alive! Still very important to setting yourself apart from other artists🙏
Thank you so much for that. I’ll will do my best 🫡
The golden era was 1998 - 2004. Special effects and CGI were everywhere as the novelty and videos had fun themes and plots.
The early 2000s genre variety made it possible to give identity to each genre and therefore had more visual investment.
You’re gonna be huge! Keep this up🤩you really know what you’re talking about
Thank you so much! 🥹
Thank you man I appreciate that 🙏
great video man, keen for the next one!
Stay tuned! Next one coming soon!
Great video! I hope music videos have a resurgence soon, I love them a lot.
Thank you so much!
If they had mid rolls in music videos it would be over for sure
1:02 I’ve attached a bunch of songs to dbz amv’s. Sometimes it can be random rap music, other times the AMV’s actually make sense, like this one dbz AMV of Centuries from Fallout Boy, that featured numerous clips of Goku’s bloodline (from Bardock, Goku to teen Gohan) fighting against foes. So now I can’t listen to songs like that without attaching it to Gohan fighting Bojack.
Music videos used to be so part of the experience.., now I couldn’t care less. 😒
The algorithm might have blessed you! Great video i really enjoyed this content !
I really hope so! Thank you!
Some points why MVs are died
- short video rise
- more artists in the market, so the audience spread out
- youtube in general less interesting to younger audience
glad i found this while scrolling on youtube & i just subbed! looking forward to more helpful videos and you getting 1K soon! as an independent music artist that still values music videos to further tell my story on a deeper level and showcase my visual skills and movie inspirations as i build with my team of friends aspiring to have creative careers, i believe that music videos will help solidify my brand as an artist and make me stand out more long term even though its less views the people that find my bingeable catalog of music and bingeable catalog of visuals on youtube can help feed my new and current and old fans for years - with gratitude, LaynoProd 👨🏽🎨🙏🏽💪🏽
Hell yeah! Keep it up! Do it for the art!
your really underrated bro, cant wait for you to blow up
Thank you so much I really appreciate that!
@@onqueueisgood its all good man, just stay focused on your dreams, and dont let nobody tell you you cant be something
Thank you for that! I like that idea I might try and get around to talking about that🤔
Agree with a lot of the points you are making, I think it's also overall a matter of attention real estate.
Wow I thought you had at least 50k subscribers, keep grinding I can definitely see you growing big in the future
Thank you! We’re gonna work for it!
Great Video. Music videos aren’t getting as many views as they used to. But I still find myself when a new artist drops. Having a music video makes me way more excited to experience the moment. I also appreciate the twenty one pilots, Paramore, and Aries references. Great music taste!
Thanks for noticing 😁
i was expecting wayyyyy more subs. amazing quality, and intriguing. new sub here 🙏
Thank you so much! Hopefully we get there one day!
a lot of the views went to watch kpop videos, with meticulous production and choreography and editing, they realise the dancing part and visuals are crazy important over there in Korea
Also though with the advent tik tok, the music landscape is SO saturated with thousands of songs being uploaded and shared everyday by independent artists. so overall, the attention is spread across so many different artists and sounds as well, there is less of a "1% dominance" of super famous artists that everyone talks about
The only time I find myself watching music videos is when I’m watching a reaction video lol
I believe we share a lot of favourite musicians I didn't realise many others listen to
i had the idea of a music video for my song “come on home to me” where i ran into the version of myself from another previous music video. and i made it. released last week. and no matter how much music videos die out i still wanna make them for my own artistic pleasure
Might have to check that out sounds interesting
@@onqueueisgood would mean a lot! i’m guessing you’ve been in the music industry for a while? this video was super intriguing
tbh ur very underrated for the quality u put in ur vids
Thank you so much
I subbed at 3.79k subs, I appreciate the quality content and I assume this channel will blow up to 100k soon enough. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! I’m hoping we can get there soon!
I was just thinking this the other day, when is the last time I searched for a music video and watched it all the way through?
2016.... Hell I remeber the 90s. As soon as we got off of school we hit the videos.
Wish I could’ve been there 😔
I’m surprised that you have Less than 200 subscribers as of writing this. This video has the same effort as the other videos I’ve seen from RUclipsrs with at least 2 to 3K subs. Keep it up!
Thank you!
as an artist I always make mental music videos in my head of animations with my silly characters working on two amvs right now for my main oc (they're a sociopathic Tamagotchi with anger issues)
This video is so good that I only realized after watching that you only have 400 subs... Keep it going man all the best
Thanks appreciate you!
Can't wait to say 'I've been here since the beginning' when ur at like a mil subs or something. Seriously such an engaging and high quality video!! Please keep it up :))
Wow I really appreciate that! We will get there one day!
Keep it up.
This vid is WAY slept on. Keep going!
Thank you I will! 🙏
Video Killed The Radio Star
Shorts Killed the Music Video Star
I like that XD
Nice evolution
Quality visuals and I've just barely started, ahead of your sub count fam
Thank you! Much more work to be done!
This was on my recommended and this video crazy quality for someone with 86 subs bro, hope this video goes well
Just the beginning! Hoping to continue to improve! 👍
Well done video! I think now it’s about consistency, period. Damn near gotta release a song a week!
this is very much true but still one of the most important for smaller artist ngl
I 100% agree
Such a sick video man, I am an artist as well and from my success, I have not blown up over music videos but instead content, short form to be exact. Music videos just aren't necessary anymore, love the video man subbed to you and wish u the best
Thank you so much man! Wish you the best in your music endeavors!
Subscribed. Keep up the quality, bring up the quantity and you’re gonna blow
Thanks so much 🙏
Im here for your next upload. Really enjoyed this and it was very insightful for my business. Cheers m8
Thanks so much new video coming next week!
Yooo. Love the channel. Props on the outro. Love you too ❤️
Thanks so much! 🙏
Subbed bro hoping you blow, I seen another comment saying just keep at it and in a year who knows where you’ll be🔥
Thanks! It’s a goal to keep at it this year so hopefully we’re up at the end!
Good Video, nicely edited and very entertaining. Can't wait to see you grow!
Thank you so much!
Yo this video is really well made i can tell it took a very long time, your going up soon bro 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you a lot 🙏
The quality of your content is not often seen in channels as small as yours. I wish you great success as you are a great content creator :-)
Thank you so much! We’re only going to keep on improving!
When you listen to a whole lot of underground metal bands like myself, you understand that numbers is not the point. It's not about the money, it's about sending a message
Just watched two of your videos and subscribed! Keep it up brother. I enjoy your video format :)
Thanks so much! Looking forward to getting more out there
Latin artists do huge numbers with their music videos
You just figuring this out now?! I grew up on MTV as a kid from day one then VH1, BET/BET on Jazz, now I've been a pro musician since 1996. The music video died in 2000/2001.
Still a lot of videos around the 2010's were pulling in massive numbers
Just parroting what others have said, I would definitely look at KPop. A lot of KPop stans have noticed how KPop is almost skewing the perception of what I “successful” reception is to a music video. You see these artists getting 100M views within a month (especially BTS, Blackpink, Stray Kids, NewJeans, (G)I-DLE, Aespa, IVE, Le Sserafim, and sometimes Seventeen, Twice, NCT, Ateez, Itzy, TXT, Enhypen, Treasure, etc.)
It’s a strange phenomenon to me how so many of the most watched music videos are in the multi-billion view range.
So, I guess that’s how a majority of people are finding their music these days.
oh my god i found someone who also constructs an entire music video in my head
🤣 YES
Super interesting video and take! Such a shame this doesn't have the traction it deserves
We’ll get there!
Music videos have waxed and waned over the years. This isn’t the first ‘death’ of music videos- so many music video producers companies went out of business 2007,8. Then it came roaring back in the mid 2010s. Who know what new platforms and tastes will come in the future?
Very nice video so informative and in depth!
Thank you! 🙏
good quality video and i like how you mentioned Aries
Aries is quality 🔥
@@onqueueisgoodyup, love his youtube videos and music
first of all great video man
Easier by Quadeca. Thanks!
Ive notice that too. Remenber the crazinest of the fandom braging about "a view record in the first 24hs" such a cringe. Now i think most of them are fake view. And paid promotion. Ive been no the cinema and they play music videos from Ariana Grande,TS,BTS and many more.
Tiktok killed them
1:01 man Old Trippie Redd when Lifes a Trip came out in the back of a Uber pretending im in a love movie 😂😂
Honestly, I hated music videos for how blatantly they emphasized the cultic influences behind the music I enjoyed and would rather be ignorant to.
A hit song doesn’t need a music video
I still and always will enjoy watching the music videos. It gives me something to look at while I enjoy the song. As a musician myself, I know that these artist and video editors put so much time in the making some of these music videos. So I feel like I should give them credit and at least watch their video, and see their interpretation of how they think the video should be. Then I can listen to the song later without the music video, and either imagine the music video in my head, or imagine my own music video or amv in my head.
Support and keep art alive! 🔥
i am indeed imagining myself in a music video with every song i like.
Who is the artist playing live at 10:53 ? Looks awesome
Very well put together video for such a small channel, earned a sub, keep doing what you're doing man.
Much appreciated!
I think another problem is that now more people have a streaming subscription. If I am paying monthly for Spotify, I'd rather listen to a song there than watch the music video for free on RUclips.
It’s not even about the money spent. It’s the convenience of listening to the audio rather than watching a video while you are busy or on the move.
haven't finished the video yet (so forgive me if you address this) but while this is very true for the western music landscape, it is very much the opposite for other markets like the korean world. kpop music videos are only getting better and better, a lot of them with cool storylines and/or symbolism that adds to the artistic value of the song... or it's just really really cool and high effort which is also cool lol. i recommend trying to check out stray kids for those crazy cool videos (specifically their title tracks like 's-class' and 'god's menu') or newjeans (specifically 'cool with you' and 'ditto') if you wanna see what i'm talking about!
anywhos, very nice video mate. honestly just missing that tiny little bit of polish but overall insanely cool. keep it up!
I have actually come across newjeans before and have definitely noticed how the K-pop market endulges in music videos more. You’re absolutely right. I could’ve touched on that for sure but I guess I had a narrow head pointing towards just the western mainstream. Thank you for the feedback!
This was an amazingly done video man!!!
Thank you!
thanks yt for recomending this gem . good vid dude
Thank you! Appreciate it a lot!
Great quality video On Queue! Keep it up, music has definitely come a long way on how it's produced and promoted! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much for that!
