Danie, I was so proud of you while I was listening to you talk about meeting your fitness goals and how you have never felt better than you do now. That is such an accomplishment!! And doesn’t it feel GREAT to feel GREAT? YAY. Thanks for sharing that. It really was fun to see you so happy. And Happiness is contagious! ❤
I'm listening to the LEFT BEHIND Series. I'm up to book 5. There are 13 books in the series. It's great! Your changes made the unit look very unique. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It looks great. One suggestion, the light green border on top of the mural I would add a strip of molding in the darker green over it to match the bookcase.
I love the bookshelf but the entire thing feels out of place. The ceiling vibe doesn’t mesh with the new bookcase that doesn’t work well with that wallpaper so it looks like a huge hodgepodge office space. Meshing different styles can be done but it’s not working in this space.
LOVE that built in dark! It looks so much cozier. I think it would look great if you matched the room molding by painting it the same color. The brightness of the wall paper will keep it from feeling like a cave while wrapping you in a gothic embrace. Also...time to update the ceiling light, perhaps? Would love you to create a gothic masterpiece that compliments the new moody feel of the room. From one nerd to another...WELL DONE!!! 💜🖤
Helpful tip for this project and future: whenever you are painting a dark color, ask to get your primer tinted! It will bring out the richness in whatever color you paint on top!
In that little space between the organizer bins, I think it would be cool if you take a binder or something but you diy it to look like a old leather book, like a potion book or spell book 😍
Gosh! Danie! As a fellow fantasy, sci-fi nerd and a Pokémon, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Batman fangirl - I am screaming with joy alongside you! This is MAGICAL!
Maybe instead of the wallpaper, a plain wall with a couple of large artworks as a focal point? You could have picture lights too, that feels very dark academia. That way there’s more attention on all the other cool stuff you have on display
That is so gorgeous! All the little decorative pieces are amazing! I would have used wood putty rather than caulk. It would smooth out better and sand.
Looove it! We should all dive back into our inner (now very cool and grown up) goth much more! Next time let's style all the items that go in there accordingly like old cans and antique boxes for the office stuff. I'm thinking thrift hunt, yay! 🖤
instead of the wallpaper you should continue the trim work and detailing of the shelves across a whole wall!! it would finalize one cohesive space so well!! you could mark out 2 big spaces for some artwork, but i think the molding and everything across the whole room would look AMAZING!!
This looks amazing, loving the color and the moodiness it brings to the room. This would look kind of good with gold rub and buff on the finer details.
Love how the wood colors travel across from the shades to the art piece and then to the storage unit outside of the kitchen. Helps unify the space even more. Great job. Way to see the project to the end.
Danie i think you have surpassed a complete level of creativeness with this project. im obssesed and i think its the most beutiful shelf that i've ever seen. its amazing.
Not Danie tracing the arches like Kendall cutting cucumbers…exactly after her saying they mirror each other 😂. Love you Danie! Your little quirks are such good company every Saturday morning.
So you! A great architectural approach that supports your fantasy memorabilia without looking like geek corner. Even better, the light really looks like Wonder Woman’s lasso! 😊
My mom and I watch your videos together and we love your DIYs. Your shelves look awesome. We have one tiny suggestion. Maybe paint the trim at the top of your pink wallpaper that is currently light green the same dark green as the shelves to tie the two walls together?
I love it, Danie! That dark green really anchors the space and pulls everything together! Inspiring me to create my own nerdy cabinet for my house! Thank you!
IN LOVE with author Linsey Hall! Shadow Guild series was *chefs kiss* and I am currently working my way through the Dragon's Gift series and it is equally AMAZING! She creates such lovely, magical worlds to get lost in!
I have a new home and because of watching you for years now, I’ve been inspired. I’m going to have my own room that I’m calling my witchy room. (Practically it will be a library/study) I am a Halloween gal and love spooky gothic look. I already keep skulls and gargoyles out all year. Now I want to style a room to feel like you have walked into a cottage of the past, bookcases and table filled with all the things I love. TY for letting me feel like it’s ok to have the room I want 🧡🖤🧡. Seeing your apothecary cabinet and your new made over bookcases made me excited to get started. I don’t know how or when it will happen (chronic pain and cannot stand) but I’m determined to create it!! Ty again, you have helped me feel better every time I watch your videos. Love the new look in your office. Absolutely gorgeous 🧡🖤🧡
Of all the channels I follow and watch, you, hands down are the most creative and inspiring. You make me so happy and feel like I too can do anything. Thank you for sharing all your talents, smiles, and personality with us all. You are a gift.
Ok I said I liked it the way it was but I am changing my mind. I LOVE THE CHANGE Danie. The colour is STUNNING the intricat details are STUNNING. So overall STUNNING.🎉🎉🎉👌👌👌❤❤❤
Chair rail is about waist high, the one above your head is called a picture rail, as you actually don’t put the hooks on the wall back in the day but hung the picture from the top rail on long wire to the hight you wanted the picture to sit on the wall. I have found the one colour I have hated the most in furniture has been white, it’s just too much. When you said you were going to paint them I had a prairie dog moment (yahoo they are so cute when they stand up and yell yahoo) but when you said black my heart sank, that’s the second most hated colour in furniture for me, now Dark green is perfect, midnight blue is another colour that’s perfect as well. Loved the bendy trim that’s so cool. The whole unit looks fantastic now, now it’s got that I want to sit there and work in there mood, or just sit and red a book. Never been one for the minalist look that’s all clinical whites and beige. I wish I could afford to fly you out here to Oz and do a whole make over 😹😹😹
Wow, stunning!!! ❤️💖✨🏰📚🤩 Thanks for bringing us along for the fun!!! Your "Wonder Woman Lamp" really takes center stage now. And your tiny forest creatures (4 or __?) and Batman items pop against the green.
I love the darker color and design but I wonder if using a flat finish would look better. Maybe it’s only showing on camera and not in person but the paint finish is highlighting all the imperfections around the trims. The rough texture of the caulking is really standing out.
Energy off the hook!!! Happy New Year. I’m loving the re make. I’m doing stuff in my home so this gets my creative juices going too!! a I love everything DIY Danie
What a spectacular transformation!! Perfect timing, I’ve got a large built in bookcase (very boring), I’m going to revamp…. Exactly the style that you did… Thanks so much for the inspiration and motivation to get it done!!!
Watching you mix all the different styles of architectural details together made my left brained purist soul scream in agony. It hurt me to even watch it. The outcome was delightful. I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
In my 2nd and 4th year interior design class we were tasked to do a flower shop then revisit a project we loved in our 4th year. My flower shop had a gothic art nouveau style I loved and I made a built in display shelf similar to this. You would be surprised how the two really complement each other in style with the curves and details and wood work and iron work.
When I saw that you were changing these shelves I was very curious to see what you would do. This was my favorite of your builds and one that inspired me alot so I was hoping you would not take away the arches. I am thrilled that it looks even better! I will steal that color someday for something I swear. I love it. Two things that I would do would be to put your batman logo painting in a frame with glass and a black frame and I think your Wonder Woman hand with lasso needs its own arched detail. You could use that plastic flexible molding to give it its own arch on the wall.
Wow! Dream bookshelf! I always thought it looked unfinished, and now it looks trully amazing. A few things I will add: decor trim in all the shelfs and baseboard and decore trim in the bottom of the bookcase where it hits the floor. I will also go full dark academy in the rest of the room (walls and pendant light) but that is more of a personal preference. I love the vision you have when doing your projects, and as a fantasy girly myself I will die to have a lot of your disigns. I'm currently reading Mercy Thompson saga, is a Urban Fantasy, really good
I debated putting trim on the bottom too - I wish I had but I was pushing my budget and trim can ADD UP! YOWZA! I thought the shelf looked unfinished as well - this was the transformation it always needed!
Love it. Love your energy and ideas. I have been staring at the real pine bookcases in my home office for weeks thinking about painting them..do I want to move hundreds of books.... between your mom's reading corner and this...lots of inspiration.
When you’re ready to tone down the pink for your boo, you could do pretty molding and match the wall to your shelves and leave the wallpaper inside of the molding.
Dani: I recommend you try the Dresden Files. I also loved Molly Harper’s Nice Girls don’t Have Fangs. The readers are fantastic and the stories are awesome.
Your timing on what you are reading is so funny! In the video where you were listening to the throne of glass series I was as well! I just started listening to the second book in the Crescent city series the other day!
WOW what a fantastic transformation to the whole room!! The green on the wallpaper POPS now and just complements the shelves so much better. Well done Danie. I have to say that my fave thing you created is the Gotham City thingy. I'm not a Batman fangirl but I sure appreciate your creativity!! I am listening to Barbra Streisand's autobiography, it's fantastic and I feel like I'm sitting in my lounge with her. It literally feels/sounds like she's talking off the top of her head as opposed to reading her lines. She also includes snippets of her singing from all throughout her career :)
I love dark academia so much.... I find it really difficult to help others with a different design style ... Id love to see you design a space specifically for Jeffrey in his style
OMG lol His style would be concrete floors, nothing on the walls and minimal furniture...oh, and socks decorated on the floors (lol) but perhaps we can try once i'm fully moved out of this office space!
Socks are intergral to every real masculine style of office. I would like to see a sock lamp and maybe a sock carpet or sock pillows on the desk chair. Jeffrey would be over the moon. Greetings from Germany
I love the result! The Wonder Woman light looks fabulous! I like how to spread the “nerdy stuff out. The dark green is perfect with the wallpaper so glad you didn’t change it because it’s gorgeous (sorry Jeffery!). ❤

Hogwarts vibes 😀

It looks great. One suggestion, the light green border on top of the mural I would add a strip of molding in the darker green over it to match the bookcase.
I had literally the exact same thought, it really would look so much more cohesive if she really wanted to keep the wallpaper
Was coming to suggest the same as well! That mint color stands out now & not in a good way. I think the dark green would look so much better!
This is the comment I came here to say. Amazing job Danie!
I love the bookshelf but the entire thing feels out of place. The ceiling vibe doesn’t mesh with the new bookcase that doesn’t work well with that wallpaper so it looks like a huge hodgepodge office space. Meshing different styles can be done but it’s not working in this space.
highly agree
its not even in the same like family? of greens
LOVE that built in dark! It looks so much cozier. I think it would look great if you matched the room molding by painting it the same color. Agree about the light!

That unicorn walking through! Your editing is top notch. And your embroidered sampler saying “ Maybe Swearing will help “ is on my next project list.
Please don't change the wallpaper, it's the perfect compliment to the bookshelves. Great job, LOVE the color!
All I can say for the first video for 2024 is WOW!!!! How stunning and magical!!
Gosh!
I like where your heads at! My head is also going that direction!
i agree but she said definitely not get rid of wallpaper as she paid alot for it…
Maybe you could frame some larger pieces of the wallpaper 🙂
Wallpaper doesn’t fit the aesthetic…?
That is so gorgeous! All the little decorative pieces are amazing!
I would have used wood putty rather than caulk. It would smooth out better and sand.
Looove it! We should all dive back into our inner (now very cool and grown up) goth much more! Next time let's style all the items that go in there accordingly like old cans and antique boxes for the office stuff. I'm thinking thrift hunt, yay! 🖤
I loved the before, but I'm OBSESSED with the after!! Fantastic transformation, Danie!
instead of the wallpaper you should continue the trim work and detailing of the shelves across a whole wall!! it would finalize one cohesive space so well!! you could mark out 2 big spaces for some artwork, but i think the molding and everything across the whole room would look AMAZING!!
Lovely shade of green! Black would have looked beautiful as well. I busted out laughing when the unicorn walked by and said, "Sup?"
Too funny!
Haven't finished yet, but had to pause to say kudos to the editor for that excellent matching of construction sounds to beats!!! So satisfying!!
This looks amazing, loving the color and the moodiness it brings to the room. This would look kind of good with gold rub and buff on the finer details.
So glad you've found something that works for you. You look fantastic! So does your hair 😁 Getting healthy all around!
YAY for healthy vibes!
Love how the wood colors travel across from the shades to the art piece and then to the storage unit outside of the kitchen. Helps unify the space even more. Great job. Way to see the project to the end.
This looks great! The only thing I would add is some gold hi-lights on the corbels to make them pop.
Love the idea of just adding layers to make it totally new!!
right? just need a little more SOMETHIN' SOMETHIN' you know what i mean? haha
Danie i think you have surpassed a complete level of creativeness with this project. im obssesed and i think its the most beutiful shelf that i've ever seen. its amazing.
the green fits much better I think, especially with the wallpaper! It looks great!
Not Danie tracing the arches like Kendall cutting cucumbers…exactly after her saying they mirror each other 😂. Love you Danie! Your little quirks are such good company every Saturday morning.
That paint makes the wallpaper pop ! 😘 chef’s kiss !
So you! A great architectural approach that supports your fantasy memorabilia without looking like geek corner. Even better, the light really looks like Wonder Woman’s lasso! 😊
There's a brass victorian hand that I can see holding the light instead if you're interested. It's beautifully dark
Happy New Year. Your energy is inspiring. Thank you for being yourself
I’m so glad you kept the wallpaper! Beautiful transformation!
Wow I loved the shelves and was afraid of the change but... Looks amazing!!! But please, do not get over the wallpaper, it is stunning!!!
"Plain and Mundane" is hardly the words I would use to describe Dani's DIYs
Winner, winner - Love the darker color - it's perfect with the wall paper. Looks good - nicely done!
My mom and I watch your videos together and we love your DIYs. Your shelves look awesome. We have one tiny suggestion. Maybe paint the trim at the top of your pink wallpaper that is currently light green the same dark green as the shelves to tie the two walls together?
Very nice improvement on the bookshelves. Very you, indeed! Love the color too. Would like to have seen Jeffrey’s reaction. 😊
I'm obsessed with green and the details you added to your shelves is stunning! Love it all!!!
The self turned out great. I really like the dark green.
I think this is the BEST thing I've seen you do yet! And I do love everything else you do....this is just amazing! Love, love, LOVE.
This is just simply amazing. I'm in awe. Love the green!
Danie! You’ve outdone yourself. This is so stunning. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏
I love it, Danie! That dark green really anchors the space and pulls everything together! Inspiring me to create my own nerdy cabinet for my house! Thank you!
Looks so good. I love love love that green shade.
IN LOVE with author Linsey Hall! Shadow Guild series was *chefs kiss* and I am currently working my way through the Dragon's Gift series and it is equally AMAZING! She creates such lovely, magical worlds to get lost in!
Love the dark green. The trim would have been too much in the light color but is stunning in the dark green.

It looks sooo good! Amazing how you were able to transform the room! LOVE IT!!
Stunning!!! The dark green really works with the wallpaper. Your nerdy side is speaking to my nerdy side 🥰
They're truly fantastic, the colour is perfect & compliments the wallpaper much more than the black & white combo. Way to go!
Of all the channels I follow and watch, you, hands down are the most creative and inspiring. You make me so happy and feel like I too can do anything. Thank you for sharing all your talents, smiles, and personality with us all. You are a gift.
I'm so happy you're back! Missed you!!
16 out of 10! What a wonderful transformation! Great Job!

I love it! That green is everything. I love how each change you have made has made it more and more you. Can't wait to see what you do next!
The bookshelf transformation is amazing!! Looks SO GORGEOUS!! The hand now looks like it came out from another dimension and lend you some lights haha
I wanted you to paint it dark green when you first built it. The trim makes it amazing. Love it!
Wow, stunning!!! ❤️💖✨🏰📚🤩 Thanks for bringing us along for the fun!!!
Your "Wonder Woman Lamp" really takes center stage now.
And your tiny forest creatures (4 or __?) and Batman items pop against the green.
I got goosebumps and chills when you finished painting.
This is the sort of thing I want to do in my art studio.
I feel super inspired now
Major changes really set your mood. Absolutely lovely!
I love the darker color and design but I wonder if using a flat finish would look better. Maybe it’s only showing on camera and not in person but the paint finish is highlighting all the imperfections around the trims. The rough texture of the caulking is really standing out.
OMG THESE SHELVES LOOK FANTASTIC!

🦇💕 it is absolutely pure magic! It's awesomeness, Danie.
Incredible! Thanks for the link on peel and stick trim - a game changer. I learn so much from you.
So gorgeous! Amazing job Danie

I imagine is quite expensive. Maybe later.
I love this, your best diy yet! Loving the dark academia vibe and the bookcase looks so much more finished. On piont! 👌 You totally found your shway 😁
That green looks awesome with the wallpaper
Great 2024 project starter
It’s gonna be a very creative yr
Thanks for sharing
Woah!!! It's incredible!
WOW, well done...and the green colour looks sooo Victorian !!!
Happy New Year...🙂
Love it. Love your energy and ideas. I have been staring at the real pine bookcases in my home office for weeks thinking about painting them..do I want to move hundreds of books.... between your mom's reading corner and this...lots of inspiration.
Also haven't finished yet but want to say so glad that the reason you're looking svelte is that you want to! You're glowing girl!
Love it!! Love the color!! Well done!
We love a nerdy dark academia vibe 🌚💖✨
When you’re ready to tone down the pink for your boo, you could do pretty molding and match the wall to your shelves and leave the wallpaper inside of the molding.
Yea! Your back! I missed you! It does look really great, in your space. So much energy! I gotta go take a nap just watching it. lol Joking!
Gorgeous green💚...L💖VE it!!👍💋
Fantastic! I like how the green colour plays off the wall paper. Very Victorian Gothic.
Fabulous...i think the wallpaaper enhances the shelves!!
Oh, that wallpaper is BEAUTIFUL‼️
34:54 I love shopping the Halloween section for my year-round decorating!
Dani: I recommend you try the Dresden Files. I also loved Molly Harper’s Nice Girls don’t Have Fangs. The readers are fantastic and the stories are awesome.
Knocked it out of the park! Well done!
Your timing on what you are reading is so funny! In the video where you were listening to the throne of glass series I was as well! I just started listening to the second book in the Crescent city series the other day!
Love how it all came out! You did a great job!
I hadn’t watched your channel when you did the Wonder Woman light and 😍🤯😍 I had to stop this video and go watch that one! Now back…. And I need one!!!
@@DIYDanie 😂😂 But, yes I would love to watch how you would remake the office in his style (well, minus the socks perhaps 🙈😅)
Socks are intergral to every real masculine style of office. I would like to see a sock lamp and maybe a sock carpet or sock pillows on the desk chair. Jeffrey would be over the moon. Greetings from Germany
Another creative wow transformation! It was a fun video to watch. Your editor is also amazing. Taking your videos up multiple notches.
Yes! So good. Loving the deep green and those mouldings. V cool
Yay Danie! Very clever- love it!
I love the result! The Wonder Woman light looks fabulous! I like how to spread the “nerdy stuff out. The dark green is perfect with the wallpaper so glad you didn’t change it because it’s gorgeous (sorry Jeffery!). ❤
Love it! Such a cool dramatic change.
This looks soooo great Dani! You never disappoint now I’m itching to create something 🫶🖤
