- I've finally made a "quick" guide to the Polaroid Spectra! This camera is super complex, well at least compared to some other instant cameras. I'm planning another video to go along with this one so please check back for that soon!
As always please comment or message me with any camera questions I will do my best to help you out. I know that this video is very jam packed so you may need to pause or replay certain bits to really get it :) ALL FOR THE SAKE OF SPEEEEED

I found this Polaroid camera in a Flea Market for 5€. I thought it was broken but now I understand how it works. Thank you 🥰
I had this camera in 1993, used it till the end of the 90s. Good memories. I even remember the smell of it.
Does it work on batteries or does it have a plug? Thanks.
Great Video about the Spectra! I wish I would've included the double exposure tip in my video!
Thank you so much! This video is super helpful
Any idea where I can find Spectra film?
I got the Polaroid 600 films dang it
What a sick video
Was wondering how you charge and what charger the Polaroid spectra uses?
same
Think the battery come from the film cartridge
My understanding is that the battery is in each film pack.
Thanks I remember using these when I was young and now I got a new one brand new in the box with the black case for it. I'll use it if I ever go ghost hunting lol I see it's easy to double expose but I'll only do that to get a cool image not for ghost hunting
unfortunately, you can't find the film for that camera.
What is power source for this camera? Battery? How to charge it?
The battery is in the film
Well where to insert battery?
Battery is in the film
Found one in the junk yard great video ✌🏽
Wheee can i get the film from?
Where is the battery located
Grace Albertson inside of the film cartridge.
How long did it take for it to be ready to shoot?
You mean the timer? It’s 12s long
Hi! I have one that I inherited from my uncle, but does it require a battery or charger? I’ve never used it
It requires a battery to operate, the battery is in the film cartridge. So once you insert film, the camera works. Unfortunately Polaroid discontinued film for this camera :((
@@abraxamovic you can put i600 film into it as long as you have the old spectra film pack a guy on RUclips has a video
@@JackLambert180 I saw it. Haven't tried it yet, the pickarm on my Spectra is damaged :( The local repair prices are higher than what I bought the camera for.
@@abraxamovic darn, I haven’t had the chance to try it either finally found the camera again in my attic was my dads but the thing hasn’t powered up in probably 30 years, hoping all the parts work my self.
Where does the battery go?
In the film
Hey there! I found one of these bad boys and would love to know how to charge it
The power is in the film pack so it won’t turn on until it has film inserted
Does any other film fit into this camera?
Mgd 674 unfortunately not without serious modifications
They stopped making and distributing these 😪
This is all I could find ruclips.net/video/s0hKaayGcJk/видео.html
How do I know how to charge it? Or does it take batteries? I just found one and I’m trying to figure out how it works. Someone please help 😢me
So I have the same one and I just found it in my garage and idk if I need a charger or a battery and I was wondering if you could tell me
Don't take my word on it but I'm pretty sure the film is the battery I heard one guy in a video say that I hope that helps I have one I got it for $10 at this weird shop and I'm trying to figure out how it works too lol
Have you seen "Surviving death? On Netflix.. they show this camera being able to take photos of spirits..episode 5..a man takes photos Of spirits then asks it questions then the answer appears in "light energy form".. it's super interesting.. do you have film still from 1986????
Where did U find the film for this one?
Thanks so much.
is it possible to find film for this camera still ?? i just bought one at an antique shop but can’t find any film that isn’t 75$ or more :(((
Me neither, hopefully there will be some alternatives one time
This is so sad for us with these forgotten lil cameras
Polaroid stopped to make spectra cartiges in 2019, because many films couldn't get out of the camera 🥲
Yeah, it was kind of becoming unreliable as the cameras got really old.
There is still an option, pola studio made attachment, which makes it possible to use 600 cartridges
Do you happen to know how to work it?
@@alexeyyarov7472where we can bye it?😮
May I get a link to where you purchase the film for this? I'm unsure of what it is called on Amazon and the Polaroid website.
lookin for it too
@@mr.bargy. unfortunately the film for this camera was discontinued by Polaroid 2 years ago. Who knows, they might bring it back one day
I have the same, thanks.
I also put my film in and it just keeps making popping noises is it normal ?
Too bad that Spectra film production is on hold, it’s my favourite type, I have Polaroid Image Elite PRO, splendid camera, but I have no film, and the film is nowhere to found ;(
the black and white seems to be available at B&H at the moment. I am curious to know if they are fixing the jamming problem that seemed to be a new issue with this latest release. Did you have that problem as well?
They just started production back up in September! Cant wait to shoot it
How can i charge the battery for this camera? Also, great tutorial!
@@TheLin2099 the batteries are together with the film. No film loaded no power
Also, my ready light won't turn on at all, but my charging light turns on when I flick the timer button. Any suggestions?
I need a charger but I cant find it 🥺 can you please help
Freddy Maldonado there’s no charger there’s batteries within the film pack
Freddy Maldo if you have film inserted and it won’t turn on chances are you need new film
Haha, you assume I have “originals” film. No no, I need help on loading actually original film. 😣
Which film can i use for this one?
Yea I need this info as well
Hey where can i find this kind of film??
They stopped making it
where can i find film for this? i know im a couple years late haha
Polaroid sadly discontinued it 2 years ago
Does it require batteries ?
Well now I'm pissed because learning it's discontinued, wanted to try dad's fancy expensive instant camera (at the time) myself.
Ahhh
I have one of these for sale if anyone is interested. It's loaded with 8 photos ready to be taken. I do not have the charger for it though.
Film type please and link for bring it
aaaaaah I found one so cheap I thought i'd buy it for decoration if only these films were still being sold It might've worked
How do I charge it?
The battery is located in the film, that is one reason the film is so expensive. There is no charging. 😆
Does this need batteries
Each film pack contains its own battery.
Where is the battery?
In the film
Might be a dumb question but does Imossible film fit into the spectra or does it have to be spectra film?
Impossible is a company not a film type. Impossible is now known simply as Polaroid. This camera takes in Spectra film. Impossible did produce spectra film under their brand then it got rebranded under Polaroid Originals, but then sadly two years ago they discontinued the film
@@abraxamovic Hi, do you know if there is a different film that will be compatible to this camera?
@@norixza21 hey, very sadly no! The spectra film was the only film type that was compatible. However, you could try checking this out ruclips.net/video/s0hKaayGcJk/видео.html! Basically loading the widely available 600 film into spectra. I personally never tried it so can’t confirm if it’s 100% reliable, but it’s the only available option as far as I know
How do you charge it???
the film pack comes with a battery
I have it brand new😂 it’s my grandparent’s they never use it I found it in their stuff even I unboxed it it was packed never touched. If anyone around the world interested to buy it for whatever reason comment down. Btw I’m from Pakistan 🇵🇰
watching these videos make me so sad lol :(
do they still make this film
No they don't :/
i have film in. it but it still won’t turn on am i doing something wrong?
Is it expired film? Remember, the battery comes with the film, so if the film is very old, the battery is too and it might be dead.
@@Dan-TechAndMusic ohhh ok, i did not know this, thank you!
Where did u get the film from?
Polaroid Originals website :)
Target usually has em in stock where I live
