Oh, and by the way, your on-camera presence is so natural. You need to upload more. What I want to know is how to take film photography from an interesting hobby to an income generator.
Pretty good tutorial, man! There is also a way for knowing if the first picture is well put inside the cartrigde in complete darkness. Try to close the external plastic lip (not the mylar thin strip) against the oberture, if it's completely flat along the line of the cartrigde, it's completely inside and the border is not outside. I use a dark bag and complete darkness room. I usually refill i-Type film inside 14 or 15 battery powered cartrigdes for my folding SX-70 Alpha 1 Model 2 and my Supercolor 1000 (vintage Onestep). If it's the case too, REMEMBER TO PUT THE ND FILTER before putting in the camera, getting it out it's possible but annoying. It happened to me xDDD BTW, if the dark slide is not correctly inside, it will not be ejected by the camera...it happened to me also.
What's interesting is that I have an old Polaroid 600 with an empty film cartridge in it from the early 2000s and its battery still somehow works to this day.
I picked up the same polaroid you have in your avatar a few years back at a yard sale....finally looked up how to troubleshoot this as I wanted to try the old film in it and of course it wasn't working, excellent tutorial thank you!
When testing Polaroid cameras with an empty cartridge it's a good idea to put a few already exposed images in there just to make sure the camera pushes the film out properly. Sometimes the pick arm needs a little adjustment. Also if you put a film pack it in the camera doesn't do anything check the battery contacts. On rare occasions they sometimes move out of place.
Thanks bro, you were right on fantastic with your explanation. Great job, and I'm now about to purchase some OLD and new packs of film for both my SX-70 and 600, both of which are still in fine working order....I hope. Keep up the good work!! You're a natural in front of the camera. ~ Mike ~
I have a polaroid 600 I have a full film pack but the buttery isn't charging instead it does a weird sound and the red button keeps lighting up. any recommendations ? (It was working before this happened)
Many of the color 600 films sold as 'new' in places like Amazon are actually expired and give no pictures - just read the 1 star reviews. The black & white films appear to be better. May want to use i-type film to put inside a 600 type cartridge. From what I read on forums, this film transfer is actually very difficult to do in the dark - so think twice. People say it's better to insert no more than 4 photos instead of 8 and insert the cartridge inside the camera while still inside the dark room. Absolutely not any trace of light in the room. For the battery, measure with a voltmeter: if it's close to 5.8V better discard it. If it's around 6.0V it should be safe to take a couple of pictures
I got the camera from a market and it's very well kept but it does not work with the new cartridge so, what can I do? Thank you very much for your help and education!
Thanks ! I think this is better than gluing the battery of an i-type film on the bottom. Now, how many times can one reload the cartridge before the battery finally runs out ?
Well I’m glad I found this, I don’t know much about using a Polaroid because I’m not from the original time period that had these but I was a little confused for the powering
This is also handy if you want to use special edition frames which are usually only I type film now and an older Polaroid.

thank you so much for this! 🤍 i found my moms old polaroid impulse… my mom died when i was 3, i am 28 years old now and id love to use this camera so thank you SO much for this educational video ♥️
Hi a wee question - I have a blue one600 Polaroid camera can I still but film for it? I bought it for my son and it was never used - it’s blinking and there is film in it but obv it’s been sitting there for 10 years or more - try and you x
4:48 WARNING! Do not press too hard in the "bottom" white part because that's where the chemicals are. If you do, you'll start the chemical revealing process...
be warned I recently did this and it was so stressful because I didn't want the film to be ruined, and not being able to see anything makes it even worse. like he says in the video practice with developed film again and again, and then again with your eyes closed to be sure you got this down.
Hi, I have my spirit 600 Polaroid, I guess it’s from the 70s but I’m not really sure. I found it last year and the flash always worked, it always had the green light when I opened it. Today I tried using it again after a few months, but it had a red light. I tried taking a photo and at first the flash wasn’t working, so I took the thingy out put it back and the flash works but I couldn’t take photos, so I repeated the process and then no light appeared, neither red or green, same situation for the flash. What can I do? In the past when I tried taking photos even without the film it has always worked:(
So the metal part that holds the battery comes with the film in the box? Mine broke I and I have been trying to find out if it comes with it like it’s the battery itself
Does anyone know if I can replace the dead battery of a 500 Polaroid for the joycam Polaroid ? As they don’t make film for it anymore and I can’t just do a transfer to a working cartridge as no other film fits it. If anyone can help that would be awesome !
Just as I thought. Lol don't laugh but I'm 42 and I just got my first Spectra System today at a thrift store for 8 dollars. 🤣 it had dead film in it and I deduced that the battery was most likely in the film cart. Thanks for making this video! Hopefully the camera works. 😁
didn't see this in the comments, so thought I add . . You could load in one exposed film first, in the light, to make it easier to load the rest. It seems that the first is the hardest.
You would have to figure out a way to prevent the camera from ejecting the film in order to do this, as the rollers trigger development and prevent further exposures
Dan Finnen if I would be able to buy it in US price with US currency earnings I wouldn't be even thinking about it😋 here in Poland it is quite expensive.
".. it's my humble sacrifice for the purpose of education."
Oh man! Hats off !

This is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you!

Thank you, I had a hard time accepting that idea that I'd have to throw this cartridge of photos away. Now I have a new experiment!
dude ive been trying to find the right video this whole time !! Thank you !!!
WHAT IF THE BATTERIES ARE DEAD THO?
Buy new film!
Did you not listen you dum fuk

Can you do it under red LED lights?

but is the plastic body of the battery included in the box with the new cartridges

What type of battery is actually in the film? Can they be bought somewhere?
Do you know where can I buy the cartridge, because I haven't found where to... Please?
So the new polaroid originals 600 cartridges already have the batteries in them right?
I have a problem with the spring in the polaroid impulse AF
Can u give uns a Guide how to fix that?
Hello ! what would be your suggestion if my Polaroid - family 600 camera does not turn on at all , even with new cartridge inserted ?
Did you find a way to sort this? Having the same issue and it ia driving me crazy.
Hey do you know there is a Polaroid printer that can scan and print out a Polaroid photo from a 135mm negative film? Thank you and happy holidays!

I’m having to buy new film to get that battery-what should I do with the expired film while I use the new ones first?
Do u think that touching by fingers unexposed film can't break it?
So the metal part that holds the battery comes with the film in the box? Mine broke I and I have been trying to find out if it comes with it like it’s the battery itself
The cartridge

Thank you! I was wondering why it wouldn’t turn on.
Is this the same for all Polaroids? I have a 600 ultra I found and I was wondering if it was the same
So handy! I'm glad I found this vid. Subscribed.
Do I need to wear nightvision goggles to see what I’m doing in darkness???
How long does the battery in such a cartridge last? And do these diodes in the camera turn off after some time so as not to waste the battery?
Can you charge it?
My camera doesn't have a cartridge to put the photos what should i do ?
Very useful, thank you.
Can i reuse old film and does this work on Instax mini camera
super helpful video thank you !
So with this concept then could you load some exposed photos and do double exposure?
You would have to figure out a way to prevent the camera from ejecting the film in order to do this, as the rollers trigger development and prevent further exposures
@@DanFinnen oh true I didn't think about that thank you for the reply!
Where can you find a cargrige.
anyone know where to buy empty cartridges??
"I Like this guy. And I am So happy to be his 600th like"
thank you.very much.God keep bless you
Thanks for the info!!
I put in new film and the red or green light still wont turn on.
thank you!
Just bought a Polaroid Spectra SE camera, where would I be able to find an empty Spectra film cartridge?
Ooh, bad buy my guy. Spectra is dying and they have a lot of problems which can't befixed that easily
Bro thank you so much😭😭😭
I don't think I have a power button....... I can't find any buttons other than one to shoot the picture, a film button and an open/close button.
Thank you
Thank you for your help! :)
thank you sir !
Thank hard to find video
Omg thank you so so much
Thanks!
Thanks!!
Argh. Picture, not pitcher. (Other than that... great video!)
I’m still shocked the battery was inside the cartridge!! I looked like an idiot looking for a place to insert the batteries😂
isn't it easier to just swap the battery
So as far as I know... I can buy cheaper I-Type filmpack and transfer it to my SX-70/600 cartridge :D
haha I never thought of that! There's no reason it wouldn't work, but I'm willing to pay an extra two dollars to not have to go through the effort.
Dan Finnen if I would be able to buy it in US price with US currency earnings I wouldn't be even thinking about it😋 here in Poland it is quite expensive.
@@Karwan89PL That's exacly what I ve been thinking about for some time. U can also put in an AA battery box on a permanent basis.
Thank you!!
Hope i can do this in darkness
I keep pushing the shutter button until the battery comes back to life
I have had a battery go dead in a Polaroid Original pack.
No picture.. only sound
Yesssss
