    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  7 лет назад +1

      +Elie Harriett Hey, so the best timing is about 10-20min after you took the image, there are a few thing that change this time the most important temperature. But as rule of thumb, when the image is finally developed and you dont see any blue fog anymore.

    Hi! Some say you MUST use an hair dryer and you can't do otherwise.
    I tryed many times, but the white layer keep still on the image.
    What do you say about hair dryer?

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  7 лет назад

      Hey, yeah the hair dryer is also an option, but i never used it i know it can work pretty good. Since i got the timing out pretty good and how to peel the image i dont need a hair dryer. What time after you shot the image do you peel it? Are you bending the image really strong?

    • @califforock
      @califforock 7 лет назад

      Analog Things
      Since some said me I need an hair dryer I had to wait about 3 hours.
      I didn't bend the image strong. I didn't bending it almost at all actually.
      A workshopper told me I could do it throughtout the day.

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  7 лет назад

      Well, give it a try with my timing just shortly after the developing is finished and bend it like i do in the video.

    This has given me a real ideas boost for future projects with my photography. Any idea what the longest amount of time is before the chemicals stick to the image? Lets take your friend's foamboard layers as an example - If I were to mount a small LED light in the back and add another white board (so the light illuminates the white board and we can see the images through the front), or even just mounting the back of the art to a window - would the black fade away over time due to the light / sun interaction? I know Polaroids don't fade (despite what they say), but not sure about direct sunlight. What would be interesting is mounting the transparencies on glass, hanging them and letting light shine through, giving the impression of the old Glass Positives.

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  7 лет назад +1

      Hey, it depends but all sources of light will fade the image with time also i would not go to close with LED to the transparency, i know they don't generate alot of heat but still that little bit could effect the image. Since the Chemistry is PO and we have no long time information for that film i would not expose it for long time to UV light, they will fade i'm pretty sure. But i will take one transparency and glue it to my window to see what happens after a month of winter "sun"

    Is there a time limit on when to do this? Could I do it with some pictures I took like 5 years ago? Or does it get stuck the more it ages

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  2 года назад

      they need to be fresh, like minutes after shooting

    So I didn't know about the transparencies at all! I was using I type colors . And was wondering that. It seems only for black and white, correct? In that case, would you know my friend if i type black and white can do transparencies as well? Or strickly 600/ 670?

    Is there a possible to enlarging this in darkroom on photo paper?

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад +1

      you would need to make a neg of it and than contact print or something like this

  • @nickrockon
    @nickrockon 6 лет назад

    So this doesn't work with color film? Can you still do this days or weeks later or does it need to be soon after development?

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад

      I have not managed todo it with color film. Needs to be in a short timeframe after development, about 30min

  • @ItsIdaho
    @ItsIdaho 6 лет назад +2

    If the film is done and like a day old, can I put it over a bright lights source, or not?

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад +1

      yes, but the image could fade with time if it's a strong light source, but that happens to every image

    • @ItsIdaho
      @ItsIdaho 6 лет назад

      Okay another Problem. I just discovered the brightness adjuster on my Polaroid Spirit600. And I took a picture of my dog in the snow. Brightest adjustment possible. And I got an almost blank picture. Only like 1/8 of the top down got developed.

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад +1

      +Jan Rauschütz how long did you have the film in the cold? coule be that the chemistry was frozen.

    • @ItsIdaho
      @ItsIdaho 6 лет назад +1

      Took it immediatly inside the House.

    • @AnalogThings

      +Jan Rauschütz thats strange. And it was new Polaroid Originals Film? maybe a productiom failure

    Hello Marco, thanks for the technique. Is it possible to make those transparencies with the colour-films? Maybe you do a film? :D Thank you!

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  7 лет назад +1

      +derWANKA hey, sadly it doesn't work with the color film, it has a different structure of the layers that lets the developer stick to it. some people tried to wash the developer of after the separation but you never get a clean image as with black and white

    • @derwanka
      @derwanka 7 лет назад +1

    How do you make the 8x10 polaroids..???

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад +1

      with large format cameras and the polaroid processor

    • @soyyo2068
      @soyyo2068 6 лет назад

      Analog Things are the large format cameras just a Polaroid camera with 600 film..???

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 лет назад +1

      no, thats special cameras with 8x10 film and one shot is as expensive as a whole pack of 600 film

    • @soyyo2068
      @soyyo2068 6 лет назад

      Analog Things oh ok so pretty much you have a 8x10 Polaroid camera that gives you shots like the 600 film..??
