Thank you so much for this video!!! I haven’t crocheted since I was in high school and this was a good refresher and tips for working on a ring! I needed to make some tiny hoops for an 18th century dress and you literally taught me EVERYTHING I needed to accomplish that - even the little extra chain stitch on top to make it look more floral. EXACTLY what I needed! Again - Thank you so much! Also, your voice is very lovely and it was a joy to listen to as I had to rewatch the video a couple times to get everything down correctly. 😅
Thank you, I love your idea! I have a box full of curtain rings because we changed our curtains to a different style so I didn't need them anymore! So glad I haven't tossed them in the bin!
I enjoyed your video on crocheting on rings. I have been crocheting for about 50 years, but really get back into it a couple of years ago and seem to have some "clumsy" problems. I have a hard time keeping the tension on my yarn and still holding the ring without dropping it. I will keep on working on it, as I am making Christmas decorations. So appreciate your video helping me.
Thanks Phyllis, I too had problems with tension due to arthritic fingers and I bought a metal crochet tension ring, you wear it on your finger and thread the yarn through. It took a bit of getting used to but did help. Good luck with your decorations 🙂
Thank you! I was trying to crochet around a hair band to make a scrunchy. I had watched sooo many videos but, they all worked so fast that I couldn't make sense of the process. You did a beautiful job of taking it slow and things finally clicked for me. I was about ready to give up before finding your video :)
I am the same way, just bought some from the good will store, 1$ buys a whole bunch of rings.... They also have yarn and buttons that you can get real cheap.
It's been donkey's years since I crocheted, and I have just gotten back into it (rather obsessively..lol), and your little tutorial was a wonderful help when it came to crocheting around my friend's son's Halloween bucket handle to make it nicer to carry.. I can't get over the name of your channel either.. Too cute. ^_^
Oh, you are most welcome. ^_^ Thank you for the encouragement. ^_^ I'm working on a Tunisian blanket for my friend's wee one, but I can't wait to try making some of those African flowers you used to make your adorable handbag, they're lovely. ^_^
I haven't done much Tunisian crochet but what I have done I've really enjoyed. Aoibhe-Ni makes some beautiful patterns, I did one of her shawls: www.pookiedoodlecrafts.co.uk/2017/02/my-attempt-at-anansi-shawl-by-aoibhe-ni.html
That looks really lovely! You're brave for working with that type of yarn.. It always seems to get tangled on my hook, or it splits apart as I'm working it and with my ADHD, I get frustrated with it (quickly)... lol! Though, I may not have the correct hooks to work a yarn like that, I have bamboo hooks (I opted for them because they come from a sustainable material), and occasionally they can get very tiny nicks or slivers in them that catch the yarn, and I have to gently buff them to smooth them out. That shawl certainly looks cosy though, and after my heart considering my love for the Queen of Shawls and Bohemian Fashion, Stevie Nicks. ^_^
I wish I could remember Ely. I made if by joining African flowers then joining both sides together. I just made it up as I went along and sadly didn't write it down :( You can find my tutorial for making the African flowers here if it helps: ruclips.net/video/x66KXt_1h3w/видео.html

Great idea. Thank you.
Hello what do you call that ring that you used?
We call them curtain pole rings. They are used for attaching curtains onto long wooden poles. Hope that helps :)
