Outstanding event, been following you guys for a bit and it just keeps getting better and better. Just ordered a t-shirt and forwarded this video to some of my gearhead crew. Planning a road trip in 2020 to come to one of your events. All of the Blessings of the holiday season and much peace and prosperity to y'all in 2020.
I am 15 minutes in and I had to pause and say thank you for such a high quality production. The announcer is very good. I enjoy listening to his knowledgeable take on each race. Excellent camera angles and post production. Lastly, I hope that Gary comes back and wins big after taking a hit like that. THANK YOU!
This is great. I love the commentator calling the race. What beautiful cars. I wish I was able to go to a drag strip like I did when I was younger. Great job!
@@SoutheastGassersAssociation I’m too old at 74 with some health issues. I did my share of street racing with my 63 impalA - 409 4 speed. Put me in the hospital twice. Now I enjoy your racing on u-tube.
SEGA videos are sooo much better than they were, cudos to the film crew AND cudos to the track and Safety crew. To the drag racers, their crew and their familys who have worked so hard and invested so much of their time and hard earned cash in their hotrods. The "back up girls", the SEGA friends and fans AND all those sponsors who make the race payouts possible. To the Stotts familys and of course RUclips! SEGA rules!
OMG! We're happy to see Gary Smith is OK after taking his Henry J into the wall. Sometimes ya just gotta get out of it,, but the will to make a good pass is hard to let go of. GOD bless Gary.
Live across the street from Gary, saw his car the other day , has already built new frame up front and is working on body , will be back soon he says. Tough ole Carolina feller.
What a difference having 3 camera guys makes! I did the last 4 years with just me, myself and I at every race. lol Kudos to Trent Sherrill and the new crew.
Brad a lot of this footage was from the live feed that Speed Sport let us use. Trent and crew did a great job as always and did a lot of the filming but we have to give credit where credit is due on some of it. Trent did all of the editing.
I'm a Brit, and we don't really have many gassers as such here. It's really great watching SEGA. One thing I've noticed, I've only seen 4 speed cars, are auto's not allowed ? My ride is auto and it would cost me a small fortune to convert to manual.
"What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday, so hurry out and go see your local MERCURY dealer!" [HOP HOP HOP!] And if THEY can't fix ya right, then head right on over to the PLYMOUTH dealer! [HOP HOP HOP HOP!]
I watched Gary Smith's Chicken Bone wreck several times. It looks like the left axle shaft may have broken and with the right wheel still under power, turned the car to the left and into the wall. That was a hard hit that he and the car took.Car looks totaled.
Very few little mom and pa tracks today have 1/4 mile. Very seldom do we get to run 1/4 mile tracks so everybody is geared for the 1/8. Can't ask 65 cars to change their gearing for one or two races per year.
@@ziiofswe that car breaks all the rules of a 1960's era gassers. It even has electronic injection that is tuned by a lap top. Very cool car for sure but a long way from what SEGA racing is here to represent. There are thousands of cars like that running around the country and if SEGA let something like that run it would soon be like all other drag racing.
@@SoutheastGassersAssociation Oh, I see. I don't think we have any gasser competitions here in Sweden (at least not many), and I know nothing about the classes and their rules... I was focusing more on the style of the car than the technical aspects.
@@ziiofswe SEGA is very strict on keeping the appearance of the cars as close as possible to the way they were in the mid 1960's. Since we race first to the finish line wins we have to be very strict on performance rules also. Other Nostalgia groups only have to worry about appearance (An some of them don't seem to even worry about that LOL).
Best camera angles and sound coverage to date. Love it.
The best filming yet, so crisp and clear! Awesome Job!

We sure do like those low angle starting line launch and stills. Awesome!
Another great video and racing from SE Gassers. No computers, all car and driver racing at its best.

Anyone know what that music was that was playing at the very beginning of this? Groovy!!
Yippee Ki Yay Mr. Falcon ruclips.net/video/aegHb2KBOSw/видео.html
Brass monkey is number 1 and keep 55 gassers alive and it good to see that there is still some old still alive
Well for starters Carolina dragway is not in Aiken SC, it's in Jackson SC
are you allowed to run with shift lights in those gassers
Wake n watch last race... After camping at Shadyside...
Anybody got a link to the still photographer?
Just wondering what the hell is with the 1/8th mile stuff?

i wonder what the most common rear they used
9 inch ford is most common. It came out in the 1950's.
You said the white car is a fowkin wtf is a fowkin?
Ford Falcon.
First pass for Young Blood would have lifted the fronts had he not spun at the start I think
Amen God bless you all
When you're running solo why beat on it ?
Lane choice the next round go to the quickest car from the round before.
Would've expected a certain hemi powered Chevy at this kind of event......
Which one would that be ?
