- This is Doral 1703 to José Martí Int'l, an MD-83, departing from runway 27 at KMIA. Sometime after the aircraft rotated, the right engine went out. You can't see anything in the video, but it appears that the right engine is out as there is no exhaust coming from it like the left engine. The aircraft came back around and landed on runway 9, even though the pilot was talking about landing on 27. Taken from El Dorado Furniture. 12/24/13
Sorry for shakes.

The Mad Dog has always been a beast of an airplane, engine issues happen regardless of aircraft type, that aircraft will be fixed to perfection, properly maintained will keep on flying for many more years. I love the MD-80 and job well done by the pilots 👏 glad everything went well 🙏
Wow, great catch man! I'm sharing this.
***** Thank you!
Wonder as to what Miami based FAA FAR-145 engine repair shop that end cane from?
Benny Benitez the one in Hialeah maybe?😂
Fun fact: this same plane nearly crashed into a hotel, mistakenly thinking it was the runway approach lights. Dublin tower noticed this and told them to go around.
Whoa, really? Do you have a link with more info?
but how did they used both reversers when 1 engine was on?
Not sure why, but they put on both reversers for some reason.. Maybe operating procedures for the MD-80.
Horizon Productions SFL Good habit hard to break lol
It's not like both of them had to work
I'm thinking the TR's on the MD80 are hydraulicly deployed. As long as there is still sufficient pressure in the hydraulic system the TR would still deploy regardless if the engine is running.... Also I'm wondering if they fully shut down the engine. I'm not 100% sure. I would love to hear from a MD80 pilot or mechanic in this thread. Loved the vid.
Most probably the reverser link together
Nice I took a emergency landing of a U.S. airways a321 the landing gear doors did not shut if you wanna check it out
I saw it, nice stuff!
