Simply added the motor steering to the actual rudder disk there are slots in the top of the disc that work perfectly. Without having to add foot steering.👍
Randy, just to clarify, the NK 180 does work well in conjunction with the rudder? I had seen a post with someone saying that their Torqueedo did not do so well with the rudder, as if one was conflicting with the other. I was considering this method versus adding a Tim Percy steering assist to an H rail. Thanks for any input.
I don’t have the kayak anymore but it very simple just make sure the length is set good you just need knots under the cap so it won’t slip through the small holes it’s very simple
Yes it does but not to bad with the 180 also depends on how tight you adjust the lines. The motors are great for long runs but the pedal drive system is still amazing when actually fishing. Great little motor though highly recommend!

Can you please show a video of how you tighten motor steering lines to the Hobie steering disc. Thanks

I’m glad you liked it the NK 300 is a different story to much torque
Yes the 180 works perfect with the rudder
can you show how you wired underneath the steering cap? thanks

Do you know which one is the newer version NK180 or NK180S? Thanks
Nice Outback.
Not sure one is the nk180 the other is the nk300
What size screws did you use for the motor mount? The ones that came with the motor were too big.
Hobie sells the actual insert screws I’m not sure the size
1/4-20 Allen bolts work well.
Just make sure there stainless steel
Yes, stainless steel for sure.
How's this working out for ya? My steering is susceptible to getting hard to turn when really hot out. Does it add tension?

How is this working out for you?
Great
Why this motor doesn't have a locking mechanism to stay stationary?
It can be locked just use the loops and cables provided
