This man just continues to make and create brilliant music with unmatched storytelling. One of the most impressive discographies of ANY musician, EVER. Andrew Bird is an icon.
Andrew Bird made me think of the image of the underground root. A very powerful literary image. Gaston Bachelard said that "Images are primary psychic realities. Everything begins, even in experience, by images".
Very grateful to hear him explore that image.

This is an awesome song! Familiar yet innovative AB sound. Curious about that electric guitar sound (which also sounds like he's picking/strumming the electric violin) - seems like it doesn't match what he's doing on this acoustic.
There's a backing track of his violin, including the pizzicato.
I don't think a lot of the vision is from the same performance. You can see some of the whistling & singing doesn't sync up. Great live version though.
