The fiddle playing may not have actually been perfect, the audio was almost certain recorded in a studio before the music video visuals were recorded, so they're dubbing over themselves and the notes while dancing don't have to be good.

This song's meaning is "where are you papa?" For anyone who does not understand this, the boy is feeling neglected by his father so he finds comfort in his imagination and he plays by himself--his toys (the band). This song was initially by Stromae whose father died in a genocide when he was a boy. (rather than neglecting him). For those who don't know him, you should check him out his rendition of this song is also fantastic. I'm a big fan of both Stromae and Pentatonix!!

From what I heard, his father wasn't really there for him even before the genocide. And the second verse is basically him wondering how good of a father he will be with only his own absentee father as an example.

Even after all these years this is an impressive performance. Seeing the group do this and sign a song in French phonetically without actually knowing the language is just wow. The level of accuracy on pronunciation is incredible and the moments where it's not as accurate just give a "Inner child speaking through the adult voice" feel to it, which matches the "missing father" message of the song.
8 years on and I will forever be grateful to Pentatonix for introducing me to Stromae ❤️

One of their most re-watchable videos, I think. Amazing as Pentatonix is when they are singing a capella, a couple of well-played stringed instruments like here take them over the top. While the original Stromae video makes a bit more sense with the actual father lyrics, this Pentatonix version is much more fun to watch and listen to. I keep hitting the repeat! Love it!

Les collabs entre RUclipsurs sont assez compliquées à mettre en place au-delà d'une certaine masse d'abonnés, parce que c'est simplement difficile de contacter les gens ! Je me casse les dents régulièrement. Grrr :)
C'est vrai mais en même temps, ils aiment bien toucher à tout, donc je pense que ca les dérangerai pas de faire un collab' un peu plus classique. As a native french speaker the prononciation is actually really good ! As a native french speaker this is quite a hard song to sing as son many words are similar in pronunciation and meaning !

Jusine slr "espère" is hope I think? Just a friendly tip from an English speaker trying to learn French. Instead of saying "we answer if we can put a song" we would say, "we ask if we can play a song" since "answer" = "répond" and "ask" = "demande".
