The X-E4 with an XF27/2.8 (or if you prefer the wider angle...the XF18/2) is almost as small and compact as the X70 (Hel, it's almost the size of my ancient X20!) and is has the same flip screen as the X70 but has a several generations newer sensor and processor. Put a stick on FlipXBac G4 grip on the front and it fits in the hand almost the same as well. PLUS...when you want more focal lengths to play with (or even an eye level finder) you can have them.

Its nearly 1 cm wider and higher and even with the 27 I guess it would be 1 cm thicker. With the 27mm it would be 100 gr heavier. Plus missing the built in flash which might be one of the best things on this camera. I love the x70 - if mine is gonna break i'm gonna buy a new even with the prices they are at now

I got my x70 a fey years ago nearly mint for $350. Well worth it then and still love it now. I despise the current prices. Fuji really needs to up their manufacturing and get their game together, then update the X70. Until they fix this X100 supply problem, they aren’t ready to do an X80 and its users any justice no matter how much I want them to update this camera. I want it more than the new x100vi.

The X70 is my favorite compact camera, classic looking, weighs next to nothing, a joy to shoot with and a producer of fantastic images.

I'm totally with you! I bought a camera, used on KEH a few years ago as a backup travel camera. Fast forward some viral videos later and the price of this model has tripled. Nice camera still, but not worth current prices!

One of my few gear regrets is not picking up an X70 in an end of line sale at a general electronics store about 5yrs ago in Ireland was only 290EUR. These pics btw are some of your best clearly the setup suits you, the GP7 also looked great

I got the X70 like new for around $500 in 2018. It is really annoying how the tik tok kids just ruined the used camera market. I mostly shot the Ricoh GR 1 and 2 which are now also going for joke prices

I bought mine new some years ago for about 500€ in France. I take care of my cameras and I use a flat hood to limit flare and a half leather case. I keep it preciously.
I agree second hand price is to expensive for X70 and X100iv or v.
    Thanks for posting nice pictures.

I owned this, the used one, with 275 usd, thumb grid lost, no lens cover fuji, a little tiny vignet on the edge of lcd screen, but after all, its amazing, seriously, internet maybe makes the price skyrocket, but because of it, i am switch side from 8 years sony user to fujifilm user😅

My first fujifilm since my ricoh gr fail, X70 still my favorite among another fujifilm camera, own it in 2019 for $300 with original leather case. Sold many fuji but always keep this, the one and only compact camera from fuji with xtrans sensor. I dunno why people still call X100 compact, it's getting bigger and thicker lol.

You are right about the crazy prices now. I'm glad I bought the XE-1 and XT-1 back in the day. They are great little cameras and you can at least change lenses, although they are less pocketable.

I got one for $500 a week ago. It’s great. Had a Ricoh apsc 1 which broke because the lens got stuck in out position. The iq and ergonomics on the gr are hard to beat, but they are prone to catastrophic failure.
I would chose the x70 over a Ricoh now just for this reason. Also Fujis are cheaper and easier to repair if they break.
People are really taking the piss with the prices of the x70 these days. Just pain greedy😂

    Thank you for this video.
Sorry I missed the Hokusai exhibit at SAM. I live in Seattle. I’m taking an adult education class about the French Impressionists and the teacher was talking about the Japanese influence on them. Opportunity lost.
Opportunity found. I own a Fuji X 70. I don’t use it very much. It is small and lightweight. The images are very pleasing. A great street shooter. My problem with this body is the focal length. 28mm is too wide for my taste. I have to get too close to my subject for my comfort level. There is no work around for me other than cropping.

I think I would love this camera and I would get one, but for like $3-400 not the $8-900 I always see. The main problem isn't that it's dated technology but that the cameras on offer are now physically old. circuit boards don't last forever. So crazy Fujifilm aren't offering an X80, they would sell millions...

    • @stevenjohnson9714
      @stevenjohnson9714 8 месяцев назад

They would if they could produce those numbers. At 15,000 x100vi’s per month, in four years they still won’t break 1 million. They need to step up their game unfortunately.

They definitely should hav Mae. An x80 I love this camera had it since maybe 2013 2014.thhe color simulations the screen only thing it’s missing would bea lt in n. Filter like the x100s and it would be totally unstoppable.

Fuji is not one of the major brands but the prices of their older models is insane. I have a like new XT1 which I picked up for £150 sterling. Fuji have an appeal. I had two GR3s which are great but they both broke!

The used camera market is indeed out of control. I bought an XE-1 in 2017, second-hand. Paid €140 for it. The cheapest one I could find on eBay recently went for €380. Utterly ridiculous. Cheers! //Rick

    Good RUclips Scott!
I recently had my X70 (originally bought in 2016 - but just sitting around) was recently converted to IR720nm by ACS (UK) …. ! Best decision - and no ‘hot spot’ and of course the lens is absolutely ‘tack sharp’.
My normal IR Kit (A7 II with Canon 17-40 f4 and 70-200 f4 via Metabones Adapter) this is just too much to carry around - so a converted X70 to capture the ‘occasional’ IR landscape images - as my primary project now is ….. colour landscape & creative flower photography!
Incidentally, I’ve been practicing Black & White IR landscape photography (English Lakes and Yorkshire Dales) since 2012 with talks to camera clubs.
