Excellent channel. You go straight to the point without anything unnecessary, which I really like. The content is very good in substance too, definitely every beginner needs to learn about the Evans Gambit, a favorite of Alphazero and Paul Morphy alike
@@STJukeswas about to comment this as well. It would not play the Evans gambit by choice. I think it actually prefers the Catalan if it is given free choice.
this channel is the perfect balance between fun and serious and im living for it. never thought i could be learning deep chess analysis (not that deep but still) and have a smile on my face. Golden!
I thought about including a quick summary of everything in the end but then I remembered that the whole video has ridiculous pacing and people can basically rewatch the entire video as a "quick summary" lol
I dont subscribe that often but i did subscribe this. THIS channel is just amazing. i used this openning and now i have gained 200 elo till now from watching this video
This is an insane gambit and I am really grateful that you made a video about it in a hilarious yet informative way! I've been playing this gambit the entire time including the different variants and I've been having an absolute blast with it.
Worth pointing out if your opponent plays 2 ... Nf6, you can go 3. Nc3 trying to transpose to the Four Knights Game, from which you can play the Halloween Gambit
After Qd5+ Ke8, if you go Qh5+ before taking the bishop then most players will go g6 opening the diagonal on the h8 rook (which conveniently is lined up with the pawn on c3 that you take with your queen after taking the bishop)
Great video! I love the Evan's gambit and I always try to play it after Bc5. One sideline at 2:00, after Qd5+ and black king retreats to e8, you can give a check again with Qh5+. If they block with g6, you then take the bishop. Now after taking the pawn on c3, you attack the rook directly, so you can wreck your opponent even faster
Man I hope your channel goes big and you can make a living out of it. Have been beating many asses with the Halloween's gambit since I watched your first video. Keep it up!!
Bro, openings in games between chess engines are preselected. Alpha Zero didn't choose to play the Evans Gambit. They do this because otherwise the engines would just play the same moves every time.
4:28 people often take the pawn with knight but instead of taking the pawn, they should re-route their knight to Na5, attacking the bishop. If they move pawn, you can simply take the bishop. If knight fork you, you can take with the king. After that, some players might try to move the pawn for discovered check on the king but then you simply take bishop with re-routed knight. Thats one way to destroyed fried liver attack if you can't learn the traxler counterattack
Because of your channel i got so confident to play aggressive gambits. I enjoy playing chess so much now because of you r videos and i gained 150 elo in 3 days.😮
@@Merluch yeah the traxler is really tough to play against, i think it's possible to still take the pawn with knight but i try not to play anything risky so i take with bishop instead and try to consolidate
What? Wait. At 2:36 i thought Qb3 was a mistake in that position. Black can play Na5 with a double attack, and Bxf7 dont work well since the knight is defended by the bishop. What am i missing?
The books about chess I used to read when I was a kid were nowhere as fun as your chess edits, you did a superb job here, lad. (Please don't mind my english, I am an esl, and here there isn't anything like Gymnasium)

Evan‘s Gambit used to be my fav opening, but since this stupid chess hype I can no more surprise anyone with it! 😭
Alpha Zero just playing the Evans Gambit is absolutely nuts
It didn't choose to. This game both engines were forced to play it up until a certain move. AlphaZero would not play Evans on its own.
