The wave pool has replaced Brazil as the must miss event. That 1 minute surf session at Trestles was better than the entire wave pool snoreathon. The surfers know it, red bull know it, the commentators know it, wsl know it, the fans know it, so just go back to the beach.

It was pretty boring this year, I agree. The wind seemed bad so the waves weren't up to snuff. I miss Fiji like crazy too. But manmade waves are here to stay and will only get more advanced from here

Considering the carbon footprint of any sports league/tour, every other negative climate impact must be considered. what's with the smoking shed in the background I wonder. More meat probably. forget that the UN climate panel (IPCC) has clearly stated that worldwide meat n dairy production/consumption must be reduced by 90% to hopefully limit temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius vs. 2 degrees. I am amazed that the tour has not adopted a pro 90% vegan diet for all, as an institution. It is THE easiest way to make the biggest reduction in our climate impact. my challenge is not to fly. But I'm a surf addict!
