You can find our upgraded PCV valve here: www.rkxtech.co...
Albright we trying to participate in 2022 with our first short! We will be trying to make more as time goes on. Let us know what you would like to see for future videos.
Testing for a ruptured PCV valve is simple! If you feel vacuum coming out of the top vent hole on the PCV valve cap your PCV valve has an issue. This vent hole is simply a breather to let the PCV valve move up and down freely. You will never feel / hear vacuum from it when it is working properly.

So basically what he’s checking for with his fingers is suction. You should see a hole at the end of that lifted line in that part and if you put your finger there you shouldn’t feel any suction, if you do there’s a leak. There may be other causes for it but I am just going to try to replace the cap as well you may have to replace the entire Pcv valve or it may be something else
what if its blowing air and not sucking?
No idea, sorry. Not a mechanic just trying to learn with these videos and it took me a lil to figure out what exactly he was showing in the vid so wanted to make easier for others
@@Retodd._. Thanks for the explanation. 👏🏻👍
Worked great
Vou dar uma dica aqui. É difícil pra desmontar, e pra montar é bom usar um martelo pra fazer o encaixe. No motor 1.8T 2014 da Audi, o respiro fica virado pra direita assim como no vídeo. Espero ter ajudado!!
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge.! 👍👍👍👍👍
Is it normal for oil to accommodate on the dump tube/house at the back? Is that a symptom of bad PCV?
Totally normal. I would not be concerned unless you are consuming abnormal amounts of oil then it would be worth investigating further.
Muy bueno el video, gracias por compartir tu conocimiento! 👍👍👍
Same issue am facing....oil accomodation at hose which connects pcv and to the turbo....engine is consuming oil.........what solution did u find? Plz do reply
What if you replace the entire PCV valve, not just the diaphragm and there is still suction there?
Can pcv damage my sparklugs? My sparklugs only last 5000km... Than start misfiring and system too rich error code...
I replace the piece you did .didnt fix it i needed complete valve
My mk7 has rough idles and slight misfires on cold start, I noticed a blue puff of cloud coming out of my engine on cold starts now. Would this fix the issue of replacing the pcv valve?
The same thing happens to me. Did I find a bug?
@@ZohirZohhiro yeah i replaced the pcv valve and it worked all the symptoms stopped
@@riceinice Thank you, my friend. I will replace it and see the result
REPLACE IT COMPLETELY
There’s more than that 1 rubber seal in it!
Do you lose about a qt of oil a month of this part is bad?
So I have a 2.0L non turbo and I have an oil leak from throttle body dealer said it was because pcv failure is this the same procedure for N/A
My Golf 6 Gti. Throw out rich code P0172. Did feel air escaping from my PCV. Can this be the culprit? I understand that a good PCV should not have any air escaping
I wonder what’s in under yellow lids
Thanks!
Are u using old or new spring changed my occ cleared codes and still reading pcv and map not changed...
We always recommend to reuse your original spring. There are several version of this PCV assembly and many have different spring rates. The spring regulates the PCV flow so its always recommend to reuse your old one as the one included may or may not be correct depending on what assembly its going in.
So were u getting air or no air when u touched the hole on top
It was sucking air in (before fixed)
is it feel suction or how
it sounds the same tho. i have a 2010 passat and i got a new turbo, new pcv, put new injectors in, new sparks and coils and it still runs rough as shit. prob just need too rebuild the head and clean the lifters.
Check the gapping on the spark plugs and consider the throttle body battery or alternator. Also possibly o2 sensors.
Did you clean the intake manifold?
100% probably carbon build up on his intake valves.@@theodorosgeorgalis8027
I lmao on ur comment😂😂😂😂 im having a hell of a time with my 2012 2.0 turbo smoke up the whole damn neighborhood 😂
im having smoking issues too any fix?

So how do you diagnose it?
I guess they're not having air leaks after the repair
Mines does that but the diaphragm isn’t torn.
How i search for dat kit on internet?! Please🙏🏻

This is misleading.. they fail in other ways even worse than this causing possible rear main seal failure
Can you elaborate how ? 2021 MQB owner here wanting to learn more
how much was that part? vw tryna charge me 200ish
I found an aftermarket on Amazon for about 30 bucks
Where can i buy sir?
