So glad this series is free to watch and also ad-free. This just means RUclips gave them a budget and aren't trying to make a profit from it, they're just letting it be, and that's great.
Most spinal fractures follow high-energy blunt force trauma (e.g. motor vehicle accidents, or falls from a significant height). However, in persons with osteoporosis, even trivial trauma may be sufficient. Simple compression fractures are the most common form, followed by burst fractures. Translation-rotation and distraction fractures are less common, and almost always a sequela of significant trauma.
@@savions4005 Well the US is the only nation left in the world that still uses Fahrenheit which means that 95% of the worlds population uses Celsius, it does make more sense for them to use Celsius considering that.

@Nob the Knave Geyser is pronounced "guy-zur" in the US, but is pronounced "gee-zur" in the UK. As two people from the UK, they're not pronouncing it wrong.

Note also that spinal fractures can be classified as stable or unstable, depending on the mechanism of injury and integrity of the posterior ligamentous complex (PCL). Affected patients most often complain of axial back pain (i.e. worse when standing, and better when lying down) in the area of the fracture. This may be described as "stabbing" or "aching" and may radiate anteriorly.
I swear his lab coat is always torn lmao, in the more recent shoots I discovered back in ~2018 till recently it's still torn and now has spraypaint, paint etc all over it lmfao. EDIT: According to Reddit (unfortunately) it's a gimmick that Gav's lab coat is always perfect and Dan's is always in the line of fire with the mousetrap paint video for example or when he dives into giant water balloons lol.
Awesome to see how far you guys have come with Slow Mo. I still go back and watch the giant water balloon popping episode now and then in your back garden. Now you have this awesome studio; a lot more production value, special guests and you even demonstrate the science behind the footage. You guys are showing no sign of slowing down...pun intended.
Love the deep-dive into the science here guys! I don't often like the direction RUclips is going (with copystrikes, who they choose to promote, etc.) But I do appreciate that they give you the budget and the exposure to really shine. AND they don't put you behind a pay-wall! Amazing!
Considering the severity of his pain, opioid analgesia is advisable. This may be converted to a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) later on. Given the necessity for immobilization, venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis should also be commenced. Discussion In North America, the incidence of traumatic spinal injury is estimated at 160,000 persons per year, with 50% to 60% of these involving thoracolumbar spine.
That switch to Celsius was so funny omg but now it means I have to do a few temperature conversions back to Fahrenheit to understand just how hot the geyser was
I quite like the format of this video, how you're spending time looking back at yesterday's video, going through what you were thinking, talking about the science, etc. Then again, I watch this channel mostly for the banter between Gav and Dan, so I'd be happy with any format really :P
It may be amazing but I can watch this sort of genre elsewhere. If I'm getting the Slo-Mo guys in the YT right sidebar, I want to see _real_ slo mo, like it used to be.
