I still take HE rounds. One shot is still one shot, especially when it comes to knocking out open tops at range. When you loose one crew you also can't use the .50cal anymore.

The 75mm APCR isn't so bad since you have a relatively fast reload. Killed an IS-2 once from 20m with the Jumbo in one shot, knocked out all the crews in the turret :) I usually take at least 10 APCR for the M4A2 and around 40 for the Jumbo xD

M4A2, M4 and M4A4 are some of the best vehicles around this br. Good gun, good armor and ok mobility + a stabilizer In terms of the gun, I don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be. It can kill KV-1s and Crigne Fridges without any real issues with some proper aim (which is helped a lot by the stabilizer). Without using APCR. It's not the german medium 75mm of course, but the stabilizer makes up for lower pen.
Good overview man. From what I’ve seen and from reading history on Sherman’s, they seem to be better suited for urban combat. The long range big guns and heavy armor of other nations tanks will always outgun Shermans in field combat.
Its sooooooo good, probably one of the best tanks in the game period. This is a strong 9/10. Against other medium tanks and light tanks you are flat out better then them in most aspects and heavy tanks usualy don't have a good gun so while you struggle to penetrate them, they also struggle to penetrate you, but since you have a super quick reload and a stabilisor you will usualy hit their barrel before they hit yours and then you just need to hit that weakspot and you win the engagement. It's basicly a MBT but at 4.0.
Better on what aspects? Your armor is worse than the t34s, your mobility is worse than the t34s your gun is worse than most of the t34s, only thing it has is a stabilizer and a fast reload speed it’s shit in anything else
@@Optimusprime56241 The frontal armor is better then the T-34. A T-34 can basicly not pen the M4A2 frontaly unless it hits the tiny weakspot on the gunners side of the turret. The gun is objectively better then on the T-34, are you kidding me? Compared to the 76mm of the T-34, the gun has more penetration, much more penetration against angled armor (because APCBC), more penetration at range and still enough TNT filler to oneshot. And as for the soviet 57mm and 85mm, they should be compaired to the american 76mm which again is flat out better in every way. Also reload speed and stabilisor are not small tings, they are basicly the most important thing in the game. If you shoot first in an engagement you are almost always going to win and the sherman will always shoot first because of the stabilisor, and reload speed is so meta that the EBR 1951 which started out at 4.3 when it came out, now sits at 6.7 because of the 5 second reload autoloader. Being able to shoot repeatedly or to reload faster then your enemy is extremely important in WT.

Almost my best tank based on stats, angling your armor and keeping mobile is the game with it, by angling and being on the move it forces enemies to panic shoot and if you keep your weak armor out of the picture they will most likely hit the THICC front plate, combined with your stabiliser you can run circles metaphorically and literally around the enemies you face.
@@mahogany7712 that BR range is actually so awful and depressing and 8.0 gets a bit better but it’s not that much better the only standout there is the Bradley which is one of the best IFVs at that br imo, 9.0 and above is so much better tho it’s actually incredibly fun at 9.0+ you get the m3a3, the xm803, the xm1 if you bought it, the m247 which is like one of the best AAs in the game at that BR imo it’s so fucking fun, you also get to finally use atgm helicopters!!

And there could be a even better version of 75mm Sherman added to war thunder, the M4A3 (75) which has significantly increased horsepower over the past Shermans having the same V8 Ford engine as the M4A3 (105), M4A3E2, M4A3 (76). But Gaijin won’t add it to the American tree even though the M4A3 (75) is the most use and common Sherman of the American army. But instead the American tree has the M4A2 (75) which was rarely deployed with American units excluding American Marines (which the marines exclusively used and requested the M4A2 (75)) and most were sent out for lend lease to the British, Commonwealth, and the Russian armies.

In my opinion it's the most underrated ground attackers in the game, because it's the exact kind of CAS aircraft that you said you liked - an aircraft that doesn't have just one big bomb, but one that can attack multiple targets across the battlefield with multiple bombs. You can take 500 lbs bombs if you want to nuke a group of tanks, or you can go full 100 lbs bombs if you don't think there will be any groups of tanks. And then you have the fifty cal with 500 rounds of ammo that can take out several planes and tanks. For defence, the turret has incredible coverage. It has a bomb sight, which you pretty much have to use to get the most out of the plane. I have over 1000 games using it, and there are a few more things I could tell you if you're interested.

Dicker maxes and stuers are very common and they are pretty decent armoured against 50 cals so like 2 or 3 he rounds can be usefull.
Yeah I usually take 5 he rounds because I suck at aiming them they are great for getting rid of the flak bus
I still feel that the .50’s are more reliable on light vehicles, fire an aphe round too if you’re worried, it’ll probably detonate.

Adding more tracks have made this tank worse. Armor was enough until the final stages of the war, and tank crews started doing some wild shit

For KV-1, shoot the coaxial machine gun, it will be a one shot kill. I learned it recently after playing this game for 5 years lol.

this is a godsent tank for players to get better with.
Used to run this thing with the M5A1 Stuart love this tank. Also take the HE Rounds you can kill Hetzers by shoting the MG Shield on the roof with HE.
