Your feeling is correct. That's because in WarThunder, radar target tracking (used by most modern AAs) has a LOT of sway, aka not accurate, while optical target tracking (used by SIDAM and ADATS, etc) is always accurate as long as there is no smoke or cloud in between.

One good advatange that was forgotten to mention, is that enemy planes and helicopters cant be alarmed by radar because you dont have one. This lets you get suprise on them once they are close.
The SIDAM 25 has 60 APDS rounds in-game but in reality in only had 10 APDS rounds per gun, so 40 in total. Having 60 APDS rounds might change to 40 at some point if Gaijin realises this. The SIDAM 25 should also have a more stronger engine and NVD as a modification. But you know, Gaijin.
I wish every SPAA had limited AP ammunition like this. Hate that they all get universal belts as standard that allow the user to throw their brain out the window and just hold left click on the nearest enemy.
I've used almost every 8.0 AA in the game and i must say this to me feels like the most inaccurate and hardest to kill a plane over 1.5kms out of all of them, it really confuses me why too. however when planes are super close it defiantly performs amazingly, but if i have a crew slot available i always take an R3 with me
Hey, could you do a review of the tiny L3/33 CC tankette, special request is to put 2 foliage trees on it to completelly cover the thing and make it almost invisible on grass (unless playing arcade)
active radar can work against you, planes easily spot active radar, and some missiles lock on to it. Sidam though can overpressure now, so your explosive shells arent super terrible when you run out of APDS. Also, the best skill to have when playing this one, is map awareness and positioning.
Can you do a video on ULQ vs high quality graphics? I searched your videos and couldn't find one and I haven't seen a good video on this since all the graphic changes in the last year (according to Gaijin, they fixed a number of ULQ advantages). It would be nice to see some side-by-side comparisons between seeing through bushes etc at distance using ULQ vs HQ.
Well, I don't know how the game looked like on this BR when you made the video, but right now I think SIDAM 25 is not on the right battle rating. Right now AA vechicles on those BRs are: Battle Rating 7.7: M163 / Hovet (USA/Israel) - 2x 1100 rounds for 20mm cannon with pen: 40mm on 10m. Also it got radar and its the same in terms of mobility and armour. You can kill planes on 1500m distance, more is very hard/no sense. VEAK 40 (Sweden) - 2x 210 rounds for 40mm cannons with pen: 68mm on 10m on stock ammo, and 95mm on 10mm on ammo you can reaserch (very fast 'cause on 2nd tier of modifications) and 1000 rounds for machine gun. You can drive 60 km/h and you got radar here. ZSU-37-2 (Russia) - 2x 270 rounds for 37mm cannons with pen: 86mm on 10m on stock ammo, you can also reaserch only AP-T ammo. You got better radar, 60km/h. Battle Rating 8.0: ZSU-23-4 (Russia/Israel/Italy) - 2000 rounds for 23mm 4 cannons with pen: 51mm on 10m (which is more then enough for penetrating every light tank, most of the tow carriers/tank destroyers and lots of medium tanks and we're talking about stock ammo, you can also reaserch only AP rounds and then you can forget about planes, you can easily grind this vechicle witch just killing tanks) and it got better radar. You can kill planes over 2km away from you, no heli stand a chance to you also. It's not that fast as M113 but it still drives 50km/h and from what Ive seen playing it got much better survivalibity than any of those M113s. Battle Rating 8.3 (finally): Gepard/ Chieftan Marskman/ Typ 87/ PGZ09/ ZA35 (Germany/ GB/ Japan/ China/ GB) - 450/680 rounds for 2 35mm cannons with pen: 68mm on 10m (on stock ammo) and 127mm of pen on 10m (on best ammo). It's fast af - 48km/h (chieftan) / most of them 65km/h and ZA35 120km/h. All equipped with great radar, better armoured (except for ZA35), faster, more ammo, better guns and ammo. Those AA guns annihilate all medium tanks like Pattons, Magachs, Centurions, Vickers, Leopards, AMXs, OFs, even russian biased T55s/T62s/T64s. You can outrun, flank, hide, capture points with those. Falcon (Great Britain) - 2x 30mm cannon with 620 rounds, 53mm of pen on 10m on stock ammo and 110mm of pen with best ammo. 48km/h which is not fast but you are small, can hide and flank and with that fire power again, you can destroy most of medium tanks at this Battle Rating. SIDAM-25 (Italy) - 4x 25mm cannon with 600 HE rounds (which is the stock ammo) and got 7mm of pen on 10m which is the worst ammo you can get in all of those AAguns. Better ammo (you can only take 60 rounds of better ammo after you reaserch it XD) got 80mm of pen and its 3rd tier of modifications. You will not get it fast, Artillery fucks u up even if it does not hit you directly, yeah your top speed is 64km/h but you almost never can reach it. You can lock on aircraft targets but you got the worst range of all of those AAguns. You got no spare ammo and You are on the same battle rating as Gepard and similar shits just because your top speed is 64km/h XD Its Gaijjin at its finest moments here. If this vechicle would be in russia or german tech tree it would be on 7.3. Even 7.7 AA vechicles are better than this one.

Can you use please test whether you get uptiered more often if you don't have a premium account? I don't have it, and I have been uptiered every single game I have ever played, save maybe 5 games.
How did you got the radar to work ? I just got this thing, but when i go in test drive to try the radar, i don't get what you have, i only get a green empty cone on the side. I tried every key, even tried to switch keybinds for radar lock and nothing works.
Sidam doesn't have Radar. What you see in the video is a tracking system that work only if you manually spot the enemies. In order to work you must enable get in sniper mode and use the key you selected to lock the target
Really powerful in an up tier against modern tanks with no side armor, also only takes 2 shots to kill an abrams from the side, so ammo not a huge problem
I think the next time you review a SPAA with low caliber guns the rating should be the biggest ammount of hit messages you got. For example: I rate this vehicle 6 Hit x27 out of 10
Next one the B17G please, you can get a battle when you get oneshoted or you can kill 2 fw190 a zero destroy 3 bases get insane amount of damage and become a flying fortress
Robin P barely works even on them. It works ok in AB but then that is the worst game mode to use them, apart from SIM where the USSR hellis outrange you by more then 3x. But it’s nothing like the type 93, in some testing with friends they had to try to fly into the missile for it to have a chance to hit...

How about Gepard? Wich belt should I use to destroy planes? I'm using the one with 3 AP rounds and 1 HE round cuz it stills destroying planes and can also take tanks. But is the belt with 2 of each or the one with 3 HE and 1 AP better against planes? And how about destroying my enemy's cannon and track, wich one: the HE or the AP rounds destroys it faster?

It's the 4 guns I would assume. You cover a larger chunk of sky than the usual single stream of bullets like on the m163.

Only works in the gunner sight and you need to have your sight right on the enemy plane's nose to get a lock.
