  • After enduring this turbulent four-year relationship in 1994, Kemba was sentenced to 24.5 years and served 6.5 years in federal prison. Fortunately, she regained her freedom after President Clinton granted her clemency in December 2000. Her case drew support from across the nation and the world to reverse a disturbing trend in the rise of lengthy sentences for first time non-violent drug offenders. Listen to her speech at the International Drug Policy Reform Conference in Washington DC!

This woman is so full of gratitude, it shows that some persons can be reformed, thanks to her parents and support of many. I wish her and wish her and her family the best.

How dare you victim blame when you do not know what Kemah went through personally!! Domestic Violence is real and so is trauma bonding! His choices clearly were not her choices as she was in University and had a bright and promising future!!
In no way shape of form, should she have been held in prison for the sins of her abuser! She was young and naive at the time, and when she finally awakened to what was going on she wanted better for herself and tried to get out! By then it was too late!
Smh! You must be a male abuser with this harsh opinion of the black women in this world! I will pray for you !
